《《BFF》|| taekook ✔️》Chapter 61

A blonde boy stood by the porch nervously, his hair disheveled and his slender fingers pressing the doorbell desperately as he panted frantically.
"Jungkook... Jungkook, please open the door," he whined quietly, feeling anxiety bubble up inside of him and tears well up his eyes. His hands started shaking as he kept pressing the bell on and on. By now, it had been minutes.
He bit his lower lip in frustration as he recalled the events from earlier.
-
"J-Jungkook."
"S-So... you're leaving?"
The ravenette looked at him with an unreadable expression on his face.
Was he hurt? Was he angry? Was he disappointed or was he worried?
He couldn't tell.
"Jungkook, I--," he started but got interrupted immediately.
"No, save it," Jungkook said dismissively.
"You obviously don't want to tell me."
"What? No, I promise you, it's not like that! I was just waiting for the right time..." The ravenette raised an eyebrow at him.
"The right time, huh? Sounded a lot to me like you just wanted to leave unannounced. You know, if you're that set on getting rid of me, might aswell tell me." His voice sounded monotonous, emotionless, even. And a lot lower than usual. Not even properly looking at the other, Jungkook started walking away from the scene slowly.
Pulling him back by grabbing his arm, Taehyung exclaimed: "No-- This is a misunderstanding. It's not like you think, please let me explain."
The younger pulled his arm out of his grip, not looking impressed. His gaze was cold, much colder than the blonde was used to.
"Oh, yeah? It's not like I think? What am I supposed to think, then? It sounded pretty clear to me, Taehyung. Don't follow me," he deadpanned, immediately turning around and leaving the locker rooms.
Taehyung was panicking.
No. That was not the way Jungkook was supposed to find out.
What was he supposed to do now?
He was about to run after him and stop him when all of a sudden, his Maths teacher came across him and ordered him to get to class immediately. Taehyung did not have a choice but to follow his strict teacher, not being able to function properly or concentrate for the whole rest of the school day.
-
It took a good five minutes for the front door to get opened, an expressionless Jungkook standing right in front of him with his lips pursed.
"What do you want?"
"Jungkook, please listen to me. I want to explain. Please let me. Please."
Not even properly waiting for an answer, he made his way inside, feeling like he could collapse any moment. This was the most overwhelming situation he had been in for a while, he didn't know how to deal with it.
Seeing Jungkook's usually loving gaze suddenly turn into such a cold and doubtful one broke him-- and all because of a misunderstanding.

The ravenette hadn't said anything up to now, still not properly looking at him. Taehyung couldn't help but notice the way he was walking. It seemed so unstable, like he was about to fall any minute.
"Are you okay? You're walking like a drunk man about to collapse, do you need to lie down?," he asked worriedly, Jungkook's head snapping up and their eyes meeting which made Taehyung lower his own head immediately.
"Why are you trying to change the topic?," he asked coolly, his dark voice sending shivers down the blonde's spine.
"I'm sorry, I was just worried. Uh, so. Here's what happened. I-It has to do with my father. Again." He took a deep breath, feeling his breaths become quicker as he spoke.
"My mom told m-me. He wants me to go to America, right after graduation. B-Because he hates me. And he wants me gone, mom says he still doesn't accept me for who I am and he still wants to h-hurt me every time he sees me. So maybe it'd for the best. O-Oh--" He ran a hand over his cheek, feeling a tear slip out of his eye.
This is not the time to cry, Taehyung!
"I-I'm sorry. Um, a-anyways. At first, I thought that maybe it was just a meaningless threat and maybe we could change something about it so I wouldn't have to leave. I really held on to th-that. But now I'm not so sure anymore, against my father, we're p-powerless. So I told Jimin, because I was frustrated and I needed advice." Feeling another tear slip out of his other eye, he wiped that one immediately away aswell.
"I can't imagine having to leave you, these holidays were so hard without you. And if I can't even handle th-three weeks without you, how would I handle my university years without you? I would break. For real, I would go insane, knowing you're on the other side of the world, living your own life. B-Because we're supposed to spend it together, every moment of it. Is that immature to think? I don't even know, just--" As more and more tears left his eyes, he covered them with both his hands, crouching down slightly.
"D-Damn it. I'm sorry for not telling you, just how could I? You looked so happy and I couldn't ruin that. And maybe, part of me was just completely in denial of the fact that it's probably going to happen, unless some kind of miracle happens. I don't want to go, not at all. How am I supposed to live in a foreign country with no one to guide me but m-myself? I just-- I don't think I can. And I can't leave you either, even if you hate me forever now, which I would completely understand s-since--" All of a sudden, he felt his wrists being pulled, him landing in his lover's chest and feeling the other's comforting warmth.

"I should've listened to you, baby. I had no right getting mad at you, I'm so sorry. Fuck, I can't believe I made you cry, I was just so upset. Okay, just-- let's calm down first, hm? And then we can try to find a solution, and think rationally. I'm not giving you up like this," Jungkook suddenly whispered, every ounce of his angry demeanour suddenly gone as he stroked the blonde's hair and caressed his back softly.
"I-I don't think we can, it's hopeless. And why are you apologizing, I should apologize! I k-kept this from you but I should've told you from the beginning." The older sniffled as he wrapped his arms around his boyfriend's torso tightly.
"Yes we can, my little prince. Nothing is impossible. And I should have never run out on you like that, you must've been worried and for that I'm very sorry. I understand why you didn't tell me, just, tell me everything from now on. We need to share our problems to lean on each other and build trust. But let's sit down first, okay?" As he felt the other boy nod against his chest, the ravenette smiled and moved towards the sofa standing on the other side of the room.
But then, he slipped.
And due to them practically being glued onto each other, both of them fell onto the floor.
"Shit," the younger groaned as he felt his back collide with the ground harshly, Taehyung right on top of him, his legs straddling him.
His first instinct was check up on him but the blonde didn't seem very affected by the fall.
Instead, he sighed and slightly lifted himself so he could run his fingers over his lover's chest.
"What are we gonna do, Jungkookie?," he asked quietly, now perfectly calm.
"I don't know, baby," the ravenette answered, deep in thought.
"What if we run away or something?"
The blonde tensed at that.
"Tempting, but we're not going to get anywhere without education and money. And your parents are gonna be worried about you and mad at me for making you leave home. And it's risky, what if someone attacks us or robs us? And where would we stay?," he rambled, showing a defeated smile.
"As far as I know, I'm going to the airport straight after the graduation ceremony so unless you plan on kidnapping me at the check-in and hide me in your house forever, it's going to be hard." Pouting slightly, Taehyung leaned his head on Jungkook's chest again, feeling the other put his hands on his waist.
"Hey, that could actually work..." The ravenette slightly chuckled but then got serious again.
"Except it won't. So, I guess we'll have to find a short-term solution and act spontaneously when the time comes. And if we fail..." All of a sudden, he flipped their positions over.
"Things are gonna get hard for us, we'll probably not see each other for a long time. So we'll have to make the time we have left count, with everything we have. God..." The ravenette felt tears prickle at the corner of his eyes.
"I can't even imagine. Not seeing your beautiful face all the time, so close to mine? And not getting to feel your soft skin, not getting to kiss your lips? How will I manage? And your warmth..."
He nuzzled his head in Taehyung's chest, feeling the older boy's quick heartbeat against his ear and a tear rolling down his own cheek.
"It's gonna be so painful, for both of us. Life's so unfair, I-I can't believe it." Shedding more and more tears, the younger tried not to have a complete meltdown.
The blonde boy under him hugged him as close as possible. He was shocked, not having expected him to cry.
"Don't cry, Jungkookie. We're gonna enjoy this whole year with each other and be spontanious and if fate's gonna be a bitch, we'll get through it. We went through so much shit together, this is obviously gonna be harder than before but we'll make it, okay? We're meant to be and nothing will change that," he whispered, combing his hand through his boyfriend's soft locks.
"Yes, you're right. F-Fuck, I love you so much." Taking deep breaths and visibly calming down, Jungkook stared down at the older lovingly and intertwined their hands smoothly.
Taehyung smiled, squeezing his hands. "And I love you."
And their lips met each other, a kiss different from all the other ones shared between them.
Maybe it was the fact that the both of them were literally kissing on the floor or the fact that they were set on savouring every single moment they spent with each other, for a year with absolutely no regrets.
Nevertheless, it was special.
"Kook, I think we need to stop here," Taehyung breathed out as he felt his hands being pinned beside his head and Jungkook hovering over him.
"We've been lying on the floor for at least ten minutes. Are we really gonna make out on the floor?" He giggled.
"Yeah, you're right. That's highkey weird." Jungkook laughed cutely while scrunching his nose, getting off the blonde boy and reaching out his hand to pull said blonde up.
"Let's eat strawberry cake, my mom made some yesterday."
The older's face lit up immediately.
"Oh my god, yes! I swear, your mom loves strawberries."
"She does. And so do you." The ravenette pecked his cheek.
"That's very true, strawberries are amazing. And now, let's gooo!"
And off they went.
