《《BFF》|| taekook ✔️》Chapter 12

After Taehyung had recovered from the sudden jumpscare, he removed himself from Jungkook's shoulder and sat back in his seat properly, trying to process what the actual hell just happened.

He felt like he was flying high up in the sky, his cheeks dusted with a deep shade of red and literal hearts glittering in his eyes.

While the scary movie finally came to an end, Taehyung did literally nothing but replay that very moment in his head, he couldn't focus on anything else.

He spent many minutes smiling sheepishly and blushing while recalling the memories-- oh, how serious his crush had gotten.

As the credits were rolling, Jungkook let go of his hand and turned around to face him, collecting the empty bottles and popcorn bags and preparing them for the trashcan.

"Hey, you wanna crash at my place tonight? You know, just in case you get any nightmares," Jungkook said while grinning, putting emphasis on the word 'nightmares'.

Taehyung rolled his eyes playfully but nodded nonetheless. "Sure, I'll call my mom."

Thank god he didn't mention the jumpscare moment!

Sleeping in the same room as Jungkook... couldn't be too bad, right?

As soon as the sophomore boys reached Jungkook's house, the younger of the two let himself fall onto his bed, immediately falling asleep.

Damn, he must've been tired.

Taehyung couldn't help but sit at the edge of the bed and stare at his sleeping figure, observing his facial features.

"Why are you doing this to me?," he asked quietly, knowing that the other couldn't hear or respond to him.

"Everything you do drives me crazy, you know? Stop playing with my heart, I'm scared of actually falling in love with you," he muttered, bringing his hand closer to Jungkook's face and pouting.

Taking another look at Jungkook's sleeping face, Taehyung stroked the other's cheek with his index finger and ran his hand through the other's soft, fluffy hair.

Jungkook looked so peaceful and quiet. And soft. And cute. Like a young bunny.

Sighing and with his heart aching because of the usual bad thoughts corrupting his mind, Taehyung sneaked downstairs to drink some water, the sweet popcorn was slowly drying out his throat and making it beg for liquid.

After downing two whole glasses of water, he suddenly heard a voice behind him.

"Hun, you still up?"

Taehyung turned around and saw Mrs. Jeon, wearing silk pyjamas and a sleeping mask on her messy raven hair.

"Hi, Mrs. Jeon. I just came to drink some water." After saying that, he suddenly remembered her high school story and got interested again.

It was too early to sleep anyways, how did Jungkook fall asleep already?

"Oh, do you mind maybe finishing that story? About your high school friend? Only if you want to. And if you're not too tired." She chuckled.

"Sure, little guy. It's not that late anyway." Taehyung beamed.

"You haven't called me that in a while." She beamed aswell.

"You kids grow up so fast nowadays, sadly you're not so little anymore. But you haven't called me 'nice lady with black hair' in a long time either. But anyways, take a seat." She gestured him towards her kitchen's leather bar stools, giggling.

"And before I continue, I want you to be open-minded and respectful about everything. All of us, we are people. We think differently. We act differently. We love differently. But at the end, we're all living, breathing humans and all of us are to be respected and treated well."

Her cheery expression suddenly turned stern.

Taehyung nodded. "Of course, Mrs. Jeon." The woman next to him smiled.

"So, after trying to persuade her many, many times, she finally told me about her issue. No need to call it an issue, actually." She scoffed.

"Poor thing was so scared of getting judged. She was close to tears, it hurt me so much.

Her issue? She simply fell in love.

"Her parents organized a tutor for her, so she could study during spring break. It was a senior, with top grades. She protested at first, but when that tutor actually visited her, she ended falling in love. With... her."

Taehyung widened his eyes. A warm feeling started settling in his chest.

After being speechless for a while, he finally found the words to continue.

"Wait, does that mean she was--"

"Yes, she was a lesbian. Nobody ever assumed anything, probably because she was so delicate and fragile and didn't really fit the stereotypes." She sighed again.

"Poor thing had to go through everything alone. When she finally let it out, she was crying so much.

"She told me she felt so out of place. She didn't know what was wrong with her, why she couldn't get herself to fall in love with a boy. She was so confused and frustrated.

"And when she met her tutor, she got her answer. But then she started to hate herself for the way she was and she was so scared of someone finding out because she thought everyone would think of her as a disgrace. She hated being in love. She thought it was wrong."

That hit Taehyung, hard.

Who knows, maybe it is wrong. Maybe I should go to hell for liking Jungkook. But what can I do to stop, I've tried everything and nothing worked. But is it really that wrong? I need answers, but there is no one to give me any!

Mrs. Jeon groaned. "I don't get it, why does society have to make everyone feel like they're wrong for being different from the rest, everyone should be able to love who they-- oh my god, Taehyung. Are you crying?"

"W-What? N-No." Taehyung didn't even notice a tear slipping past his eye. And another one. And another one.

"O-Oh my."

She started rubbing his back in a comforting manner and when Taehyung didn't stop crying, she grabbed a handkerchief and brushed it over his tear-stained cheeks, softly shushing him.

"Oh dear, I think I know what's going on. You're just like her, aren't you?

You're--"

"N-No, don't say it, please. I-I don't like being like this, I'm so s-scared." Taehyung was now full-on sobbing, not caring about anything. He didn't even know why he was crying, he just did.

Mrs. Jeon stroked his hair softly.

"My poor baby. You must've had it so hard. Don't worry, it's okay. I support you."

Taehyung slowly stopped crying, his quick breaths slowing down.

"T-Thank you." She gave him a hug and ruffled his hair.

"There, there. You will always be my little guy, no matter who you love, there's nothing wrong with it. I would never judge you. And neither would Jungkook."

Taehyung widened his eyes.

"W-What? Are you suggesting that-- No, I'm not telling him!," he protested, overwhelmed.

She sighed, laying a hand on his shoulder.

"You don't have to tell him yet, take your time. It's just, I know you guys, you tell each other anything."

"But he will hate me! I-I don't want to lose him!"

Taehyung was close to tears again.

"Taehyung, Jungkook could never hate you, he will support you just like I do.

I didn't raise my son to be a close-minded douchebag, you're his best friend and he cares about you a lot.

Sweetie, don't feel pressured to do anything. It's just, he's really worried about you and seeing my baby getting so worked up makes me worry too, you know?"

Taehyung widened his eyes and looked up to her.

Oh my god, I'm so selfish! I've never even thought about that, why do I always have to be such a self-centered, whiny--

"I-I'm so sorry, Mrs. Jeon. I'm sorry for being so s-selfish but I was just so--"

"Selfish? No Taehyung, don't you dare blame yourself on this. You're young and you found out some things about yourself that aren't exactly embraced in our environment, it's a natural instict to be afraid.

What I actually meant is, don't think Jungkook would think about you differently in any way.

He's not like these other boys at your school, he loves you just the way you are, you're like family to him.

Sharing your emotions with him would maybe help your insecurities and help him loosen up, with his worries. You know what I mean?"

Taehyung slowly nodded.

"Thank you so much, Mrs. Jeon."

She smiled, revealing her bunny-like front teeth that made Taehyung immediately think about Jungkook.

"No need to thank me, hun."

Jungkook's smile looks exactly like his mom's, it's so cute. Maybe I should tell him, after all. Because I don't want him to worry about me, Mrs. Jeon aswell.

Besides, it's not that big of a deal.

Right?

I'll just tell him when the timing is good.

I mean, he will at least tolerate it, right?

It's not like I'm telling him about the crush part, just my sexuality.

I'll just do it, can't be that terrible.

Right?
