Our wedding will be held today at the Scottish Court. I'm so excited to be wed to the love of my life. I hope I will have a great marriage with him.

All of the guests got ready for the wedding this morning, and later that afternoon, the traditional knotting game will be held. Marco and I really picked special, exquisite dishes from Scotland and Italy. The Scottish ambassador in Italy reported that the Italians are excited about the wedding, and so are the French, according to my Aunt Claude and Uncle Charles.

*Knock, knock*

"Alexandra? Are you awake already, my child? " Queen Mary went to my bed, and I slowly faced her.

"Yes, Mother,"

"Then stand already. It's your wedding day today. You have to get ready, "she smiled.

"I know... I feel nervous. Is this what getting married feels like? "

"That's normal, my child." She sat down.

I hugged her.

"You'll be okay after the wedding." She smiled and said, "I remember my wedding with Francis."

She sighed.

"I hope he's proud of me." I said

"He is Alex. He will always be proud of you. " I started to cry on her shoulders.

"Don't cry, my daughter. By the way, I have a surprise for you... I'll announce it after the wedding"

"What's the surprise, mother?"

"I can't tell you! It's a surprise." She got off the bed. "So now, stand up, take a bath because you have a wedding to attend." She added

"Fine, fine,"

She pulled me out of my bed.

"Quickly please, Alex."

I went to take a bath and suddenly the Queen Mother of France came inside.

"Grandmother! For God's sake! What are you doing here? "

"I'm here to check if you're doing fine before the wedding"

"As you can see, I am taking a bath." She nodded. "Can you please leave already?"

"Are you ready to be a queen?" She asked

"I think I am fit to be a queen." I said

"I know you are, but you didn't answer my question, Alexandra. Are you ready? "

"I-I am ready to be a queen."

"Great! That's what I like about you, my grandchild! Of course, the announcement of the renewed succession to the crown will be made soon after your wedding. Obviously, it'll be held at the French Court. Better mark your calendar already after the honeymoon. " She said before leaving

As I finished taking a bath, my ladies went inside my chambers to help me dress up and fix my hair.

"Hair up or hair down?" Antoinette asked.

"Up!" Rebekah said.

"I think it's better if the hair is up."

"It will make you look more vibrant in your wedding gown."Anastasia said

"Hair up it is!" I said

"Wait! Wear the wedding gown first! " Isabel stopped Anne. "You wouldn't want the gown to ruin your fixed hair later, right?" She added and I nodded.

We had fun while preparing. My ladies-in-waiting left my chambers to prepare themselves for the wedding. My mother came into my room.

"Mother! Why are you here? "

"I just want to see my princess first before the wedding." She paused. "You're very beautiful in that white and gold wedding gown." Her tears started to come out.

"Mother... don't cry. You're beautiful too! Look at you! Wearing a very elegant red gown. You look perfect. " I comforted her.

"Oh Alex!" She laughed.

"By the way, where's David? Is he awake already? "

"Your baby brother is already done pampering himself."

"You're the only one we're waiting for!"

"Excited to see my brother look so dashing!" She smiled at me.

"Are you ready? Almost all the guests are already there, waiting for you. Marco's there as well. He said that he couldn't wait to see you. " Mary said

"And so do I... I think I am ready."

I was escorted by my mother, the queen, downstairs. The guards were already in their assigned positions. Lord James said the guests were complete and I was the only one they were waiting for to arrive.

"I'll see you there." She hugged me. "I love you." My mother said to me before leaving my side in front of the doors of the room.

"Princess Alexandra, are you ready?" A familiar voice under the knight's armor said

"Show your face," I said, out of curiosity.

"It's me, Alex." He smiled.

"Marcus! "

"Shhh, I'm doing my job, but good luck out there, Alex." I nodded.

"So are you ready, Princess Alexandra?" He asked me

"I am..." Lord Marcus signaled the guards to open the door.

Everybody was looking at me. I saw my family at the front and then I saw Marco smiling at me. As I walked down the aisle, I heard the wonderful sound of the instruments being played. I feel like my father is here watching me walk until I reach the end of the aisle.

Half an hour later, the wedding ceremony ends, and now it's time for the wedding reception. Toasts were shared by my loved ones and the royalties of other countries. Gifts were given to me and Marco. Someone reported that the Scots, Italians, and French people are already celebrating our wedding at their places. I feel flattered by what they feel. They are all happy about our marriage!

"Congratulations to you, Princess Alexandra, or shall I start calling you Queen Alexandra?" Casper came to me

"Casper! It's been awhile... How are you? " I said

"All is well, my princess, but first, I didn't get the chance to do this before, but I would like to personally apologize for what happened to us before. Things didn't end properly. You deserve a sincere apology. "

"It was a long time ago, now you deserve my forgiveness." I smiled at him.

"Thank you!" He said

I saw John Philippe walking towards me.

"Alex! My dear sister, congratulations!!! He hugged me.

"Thanks brother! How are you and Bekah? "

"Going great, thanks for asking." He winked at me.

I was walking around the banquet hall, seeing my mother chatting with the other royals, such as Catherine and Queen Isabella.

Then Marco came to me and said, "Queen of Italy, my queen."

"My King!" I smiled at him.

"Congratulations to us, love." He hugged me.

"Yes, we've been planning for this for how many months now?"

"Now it's really here."

"We're already married."

"I want our marriage to be happy and full of love."

"So do I." I said and kissed him.

After the wedding reception, it's time for the traditions!

"The Knotting Game!" I said

"Yes, this game is our tradition here in Scotland. Some of you might already have an idea of what it is because we have also done this before at my wedding to the late King Darnley. " Queen Mary said.

I started announcing the instructions on how the knotting game works for the people who don't know it yet.

The Queen continued to instruct the procedures. After that, I ordered the guards to open the door for the players.

Each grabbed a ribbon once they got inside the venue. Marco and I grabbed ours. I saw my mother holding my brother, David, with the ribbon he chose. Uncle James was with Lady Greer and her baby, Rose—they were both following a ribbon that Rose grabbed. I saw my ladies also enjoying the game. Uncle Charles was eating cake while Uncle Luc and Aunt Claude started to bond again by playing together with one ribbon.

I think my guests were satisfied with the wedding. Thank God, nothing went wrong. This is the beginning of a new chapter for me. I can't wait to start a family with my husband, King Marco of Italy.
