《Reign: The Diary of A Princess》Treachery and Disloyalty

The Queen appeared to be too hurt by the rumour that Darnley had been unfaithful to her by neglecting her for Lady Keira. That's very unacceptable. I haven't seen Lord Darnley yet.

Well, until now. Speaking of the devil, "Lord Darnley" I said.

"Alexandra"

"Don't be rude to the Princess, Lord Darnley. "

"Well, sorry, Princess Alexandra."

"Nonetheless, where have you been? Haven't seen you in awhile. Have you even talked to the Queen? She might be looking for you."

"Where's Mary?"

"Queen Mary, you mean? I don't know, go find her. It seems that you've been gone for too long, that you don't even know where she is. Maybe you're spending time with somebody else, I guess. "

"What does that mean?"

"Nothing you should be guilty of. Plus, I'm her daughter, not a guard to follow her around. You're the fiancé. Isn't it your job to stay beside her and watch over her since you're supposed to be together? "

"Hmp. Why are you being so mean right now? "

"Why do you care? You're not my father and you will never be. "

"Uhm..." He was taken aback, "I'll just go find your mother." He added

He deserved every single word I said, but why did he look so hurt when he left? Don't tell me that he really took everything I said to heart when I told him that he would never be my father.

How could I accept someone who's been unfaithful to my mother? He's only causing my mother such pain in her heart. I don't want her to suffer more pain than usual. We only need Darnley for England and for an heir. They can have an heir right away after getting married, so that after that they won't have to share the same bed ever again. That would be my mother's doing, so I do hope that they'll have an heir to the throne.

I am serious, though. I don't know where my mother is. I haven't seen her today. Should I be worried or not? Nevertheless, I shall find her before the night; who knows, she might be in danger right now. I went to her chambers, but she was not there, and I even checked her balcony. I went to the throne room and banquet hall. She wasn't there either. I came to ask a guard if he saw the Queen. He said no, so I asked if she had left the castle. I got the same answer. Where could she be?

I went to see Uncle James and saw him talking to Lady Greer.

I greeted them, "Uncle James, Lady Greer."

"Oh, hello Alex."

"You looked worried. What's wrong?"

"Have you seen mother?"

"Huh? No."

"I didn't see her either."

"Oh, Mary! Where could she be? Actually, I might have an idea, Alex. "

"What's that, Lady Greer?"

"You do have secret passageways and secret chambers here, right? You know, Mary loved to go there when we were kids. We used to play there."

"I shall go see which passageway it is though. Thank you!"

I hugged her and ran off after talking to both of them.

We do have many secret doors here that lead to passages. It's either to another room or to the outside of the castle. Sometimes the doors look just like a normal wall. To know where the door is or if it is a door, you have to knock to see if it's either a fake wall or an actual wall. I've been knocking on different walls until I found one. I'm not actually familiar with the hidden doors here, but I used to go to hidden chambers here in the castle through these doors to get away from politics when I was a kid with my friends.

I brought a torch for light. I went in different directions until I suddenly remembered that there's a hidden library here. I followed the trail to the library to see if my mother was there. As I walked in, Lady Greer and I were right.

"Mother"

"Alex? How did you know that I was here?"

"I didn't know. I just guessed. Good thing Greer mentioned how much you love to go through secret passages."

"Ah, Greer!" She chuckled. "What are you doing here? Is there a problem in the castle?" She added.

"Ah no, mother, there's no problem. Well, except for Lord Darnley's return from absence."

"Oh, he's here?"

"Yes, I think he's searching for you, so I came to think, where were you, because I haven't seen you inside for awhile."

"Oh, I see."

"Why are you here though?"

"I came here to be at peace."

"Oh, I'm sorry. Do you want me to leave? "

"No Alex, stay. Please. I also came here to think."

"About what?"

"Things that are happening to me Darnley's cheating on me. My claim to the English throne, Scotland, the Protestants, and the horrible things that happened to you, I want to let you know that I will do everything to protect you."

"I know, mother. You know, we are here for you. I am here for you. We can help you. The people who love you will always be here for you. "

"Thank you so much, my dear daughter, and my greatest achievement. I wish Francis would be here to see you grow up to be a full-grown woman. "

"Father will always be here. Father is always with us, guiding us throughout our problems and achievements." She smiled as a tear dropped from her face and gave me a tight hug.

"You know, I forgot to tell you, King Marco."

"What's with him?"

"He'll go here today."

"What but it's too early for him to be here for the wedding?"

"No, it's not about the wedding, but he'll then go back to his country after his mission and return here for my wedding."

"What? I don't get it. "

"You will soon"

I don't know what she's saying, but I might have an idea, though I'm not sure and I don't want to assume. What mission? Is this the time when he'll propose to me personally, in front of the queen and in my country? But seriously, I don't want to assume. We'll see when he arrives, but for now, I will accompany my mother here and go back to the castle to see if he's already here.
