"How did this happen to my client?" Mr Reinfield questions the guard that was instructed to sit in on our meeting because apparently, I'm not entitled to client confidentiality anymore.
"I do not know what you're talking about sir." The guard defelects, "I was not the guard on duty when it happened."
"Just know that when I talk to the commissioner next week I will have both your job and the guards who have let this happen." Reinfield continues, "And I will be increasing my visits to every week to ensure that she stays in good health. If I hear or see another hair in the wrong place, your family will not have anything to eat for years, do you understand?"
The guard nods but gives me a death glare as is if it my fault.
"Now get out before I call the commissioner on the phone and tell them you're depriving my client of her rights."
The guard looked like he was going to argue but thought against it instead leaving the room but I know he was not far away listening.
"Turn around and pull your shirt down." Mr Reinfield instructed and I did as he said which let him take photos of the nasty gash on my body which did not get the proper care.
Afterwards, we both sat down at the tables and looked at each other for a while. "You do not have to come here everyweek."
He shook his head, "Someone needs to be able to put these people in check, they do not have the authority to use their power over 16 year old girls."
"You're going to make it worse for me and bambi."
"Hmm, the Thalia Wilibe they put in your room?" I nod, "They do this to her too?"
"Yes and it's my fault. They hate me and everyone who associates with me."
He hums in acknowledgement, "I'll speak to your parents about added her to my client list."
"No you dont need to ask them. If it is a matter of payment I have a trust fund that you can have any sum of when I turn 18." I promise and he raises his eyebrow at me

"I'm not taking money from a minor, Regina." He tells me, "And I was going to add her regardless." I nod my head grateful, he pulls out his paper and pen, "Okay now tell me what they did to you this month."

Caleb and I haven't spoken for the whole weekend. Usually he would call or text me just to see how I am and he hasn't which shows me he's really mad. I decided against messaging him to give him the space he wanted, when I was with Finn he would suffocate me or just plain threaten me so I wouldn't ever be able to be angry at him. Everything about me and Caleb is the total opposite of Finn and I do not want to be the toxic one in this - I dont even know what we are.
I went the whole day so far not seeing Caleb at school but now it's lunch and I dont even feel comfortable sitting in my usual seat when we havent spoken. However, Kayla is looking for any way to crack me and I'm never going to let that happen.
I sit down in my usual seat but unusually Caleb isn't where he is supposed to be. Looking around I try to place him which should be easy considering the fact that he's a giant but I can't place him.
"He didn't come to school today." Vivian fills in for me and I nod my head slowly, well that makes sense why I haven't seen him all day
"Shouldn't you know that?" Paulette questions me with a sly smile which already makes me think something is going on
"I wasn't really on my phone much over the weekend, he probably texted me." I reply nonchalantly taking a fry into my mouth
Kayla picks up her phone and starts typing something, "Should we be worried?" she asks
"I dont know, I dont think so." I say running my hands though my hair, tired of talking to her already.
Kayla hums slightly, "Really? because you have a tendency of killing your boyfriends." Then a bunch of notification sounds were heard throughout the cafeteria which just made me sigh.
This is really the worst time to have a sparing day with her because I'm actually worried about Caleb but if she wants to start it, I've been known to finish it.

I couldn't help but smile a little and give her a slow round of applause, "Wow, it took you almost three months to figure out who I killed, congratulations."
"Don't try and deflect the question. Is Caleb alright? We haven't heard from him and I wouldn't want him to-"
My phone started ringing and low and behold it's Caleb, "Oh, look who's calling from the grave." I deadpan before answering the phone, "Hey,"
"Hi," His smooth voice reaches my ear, even when he's not here he's helping me, "I just saw what she posted on the newspaper."
"Yeah, can I put you on speaker because she told people I killed you and that's why you're not here." I didn't even let him reply I just put it on speaker
"Am I on now?" He questions and I hum in response, "Aren't you tired, Kayla? How many times were you dropped as a baby for you to think this is okay?"
Kayla flushes red, "Caleb she killed her boyfriend, what are we all supposed to think? Maybe he wanted to break up with her and that's why she shot him."
"Or maybe he wanted to beat me." I retort exasperated, "Like he did everytime I made him unhappy." The table looked frozen like they weren't expecting me to just come out and explain it but I can't be bothered anymore, "Are you satisfied now?"
"If it was self defense why did they try you as an adult?" She continues probing, "You know why? because it was premeditated and-"
"He was a 23 year old gang leader who had everyone on a payroll, they had me in there for 8 years but dropped it to 3 when the judge got caught for dealing cocaine." I explain and she sits there evidently trying to think of another way to find me guilty, "But I dont have to continue explaining myself to you. You got filed with a cease and deist and you havent complied,"
"Well I'm just making sure everyone here knows what type of person you are." She argues, "If someone can kill their own boyfriend, abuser or not then you have no idea what they're capable of so-"
"You know if you put half the energy you're putting into me, into helping your family then maybe they wouldn't be filing for bankruptcy right now." I interject, dropping the bomb i didn't feel necessary to say until now.
Vivian's eyes widened as she looks down at her food. Quinton looked like he wanted to say something but thought against it.
"No, instead you're stuck on this boy who had made his clear choice." I continue before turning to Jude, "How does it feel to have someone you're fucking make such a fool of herself for a guy who isn't you?"
Jude opens his mouth to start speaking but then looks at Kayla who is shooting him death glares.
"Oh please everyone knows, it's not like you're hiding anything," Vivian adds
"Why are you always deflecting away from what you've done?" Paulette interjects, "You're the murderer here-"
"Listen if someone calls my girlfriend that once more, there is going to be a serious issue." Caleb says through the phone and try to resist the smile that wants to form on my face. "In fact, I'm coming in."
"Caleb you don't have to-" He cut the phone so I couldn't argue.
"What were you doing with a 23 year old anyway?" Kayla continues
"Keep talking, I'm recording this whole thing for the trial." Ethan defends holding up his phone with the voice memo's on. Kayla becomes quiet once more and paulette picks up the slack from her bestfriend.
"She asked a question." Paulette says, "You're not going to get off the topic so you might aswell just tell the truth,"
"What is wrong with you?" One of the junior girls ask, "She literally just told you she was abused by a man who was clearly a paedophile and you're asking her questions to embarrass her?"
"No asked you to but in Lila," Kayla hisses, "Why do we even let you on the table?"
"If this is what happens when someone sits on a table then I want nothing to do with the whole hierarchy." She says quiet distressed standing up and taking her things.
