《Hierarchy》I

Finn O'Brian looks at me like I'm weak.
And I am
So busy looking for his approval that I glaze over the fact that he's been sleeping with countless people behind my back.
I hate myself for it.
But I can't do anything about it.
He looks up from the pair of boobs which are now stuck in his face, and with two fingers calls me over.
Mentally rolling my eyes, I get up not wanting him to be angry.
"This is Olivia, Gi." He said looking at the blonde who was sitting on top of my boyfriend, "She just promised me a good time."
He grins and winks at her before settling his eyes on me. His weak 15 year old girlfriend.
He's drunk and possibly high off his head, he wouldn't talk to me like this when sober. He'll promise me he loves me and no one would get in between us.
Not even miss Olivia with the big tits.
"I don't want you to go with her Finn." I tell him clearly which causes him to raise his eyebrow
"Did I fucking ask for your opinion?" He spits, his mood swings are something I've become adapted to. Alcohol brings out the worst in him. "I'm just telling you so I wouldn't have to deal with you claiming that I'm lying later."
I lick my chapped lips, I lied to my parents for this. For him.
He's not even worth it.
"If that's really how you feel, we're done." I inform him, confused to where the sudden confidence came from.
I turn around to leave his room filled to the brink with naked girls
"Don't you dare walk away from me." His deep voice bellowed after me and I released a hazy breath as continue to walk away.
That's the problem with Finn, he walked around like he didn't want me or need me but caught an attitude every time I tried to walk away.
His hands grip my upper arm as he flings me into his chest. "I said, don't you dare walk away from me."
"You can't stop me." I hiss whilst struggling
He gave me a sinister chuckle under his breath before dragging me upstairs.
His room was and always has been a torture chamber; the scars on my skin is enough to prove it.
He dashed me on his bed before locking the room door. He then turned to look at me. The dark lighting in the room made me believe that I'm actually looking at a monster.
This guy is going to kill me
"You think you can just walk away and be a slut with other guys?" He scowled at me

I push myself back into the bed and my hands slipped under the pillow case where I know he kept his guns.
"I know you're a whore, Regina, but you're my whore and my whore only." He growled before leaping on me
I clenched my fingers around the gun and brought it out from under the pillow case.
Finn reacted quickly, all traces of the alcohol out of his system, pushing himself off me and put his hands up in defence , "Put the gun down Regina. You know you'll regret it if anything happens."
The only thing I'll regret is not killing him when I had the chance.
I pressed the trigger.

I've always hated high school, even before I went away it gave me serious anxiety and the need to stab someone.
Coming back isn't something I particularly wanted to do but in the eyes of the law I'm still a minor I guess.
Richmond High School for the Intelligent is just a place rich parents send their ignorant children to learn to become more ignorant.
The loud whispers were about me, their glaring eyes made it very easy to infer that
"If someone looks at me once more, there is gonna be a problem." I tell Ethan who chuckles and shakes his head.
"You'll be fine, Gi." He reassures me whilst leaning on his locker
Ethan is my little brother, he was no older than 13 turning 14 when I left. Somehow I think he holds that against me.
"Hey baby," a female voice said and I turned to see a blonde girl come and greet my 16 year old brother with a kiss on his lips as if claiming him in front of me
"Maddie, this is Regina, my sister." Ethan finally introduces when they finally remove their interlocked lips
"Oh," she said finally realising her mistake, "Ethan's told me so much about you! I'm Maddison Johnson."
I look down at her outreached hand, "Yeah, I'll see you later, E."
"She's not good with physical contact," Ethan explains as I leave.
I know I'm late but somehow, strolling to class seems so appealing to me, so that's what I did. Strolled to class as if education isn't important.
Taking in a breath I faced the wooden door that had the words Biology 35. I walked into the class room and it felt like a scene out of a bad teenage saga, they turned their heads to face me.
"Ah, Miss WestWood, we've been expecting you,"
Everyone in the room look like snobs, the girls hair cuts are done so perfectly that I'm pretty sure they had a stylist come to their house beforehand. The boys look like they've just walked out of a fashion campaign and I look like a wet dog.

"Will you like to describe yourself?"
I couldn't help but show the distaste of that but stunching my face before saying a sharp no
"Think of it as me telling you, not asking." The teacher says and I hold in the eye-roll.
"I'm Regina WestWood and-"
"Are you Ethan's relative?" A girl questions and I hide the frown that would have masked my face.
Is Ethan that popular?
"As I was going to say before I was interrupted, I'm Regina WestWood and as the last name clearly suggests, Ethan is my little brother."
"So why are you coming here now?" A girl from the middle of the room asks
"I was told to introduce myself, not let you pry into my life." I retort before walking to the back of the class away from the invasive eyes
My reluctance to tell them everything about me causes a storm of whispers and accusations were thrown around in the class
"I heard she slept with her teacher at her old school." One of them muttered
That was so funny it almost made me laugh. My parents would have homeschooled us if that was ever the case.
The lessons went by fast enough and I thanked God when it came to lunch where I could just eat my food in peace.
I met Ethan at the line with the girl he calls his girlfriend, they were in deep conversation but he knew to discard her and talk to me when I came closer
"How were your lessons?"
Mallory, or whatever her name is, looked at me and pretended not to be upset with Ethan stopping their conversation short.
"Better than the ones I'm used to," I responded. In prison they allowed the younger kids to have access to the library. I used it to continue my education, some used it to learn how to get out.
"Well, I'm glad you're taking it seriously." He grins and passes me a fruit pot which I just put back on to the collection, "You gotta eat healthily,"
"I'm not five E," I remind him with a roll of my eyes, "What you can do for me is tell me why everyone seems to know who you are."
He chuckles a little, "The school system is super weird here, kinda elitist."
"And what do you mean by that?"
"So there's the king and queen-"
"Caleb Mensa." The girl whose name has to begin with an M interrupts, "There's no queen cause he's single."
"Right and then you have the senior princes, Jude Daley and Quinton Saund who are all friends of Calebs," he continues
"And if he ever commits social suicide, Jude is next up." She fills in, seeming to not understand how this isn't a three-way conversation
"And there are the senior princesses, Kayla Knight. She's super hot but totally Caleb's next queen. Lastly, there's Paulette Richie and Vivian Briar." Ethan finalises whilst he pays for his food and mine.
M-Girl kisses Ethan and trots off to her friends
"That still doesn't explain to me why everyone knows who you are." I remind him
"Right, I'm the Junior King. When you lot graduate, I'm up next."
The whole system seems so stupid but the grin on Ethan's face is unmistakable. He must love all the attention he gets by holding whatever title he currently had and whatever makes my brother happy, makes me happy.
We found a table where there were 11 people sitting on it, a pretty big table for a cafeteria, the biggest in here but bang in the middle like they were important.
So I'm guessing these are the people he was telling me about
"Guys, this is my sister Regina." Ethan introduces, they were looking at me since I entered the room but now they have a reason to voice their opinions
"And where did she appear from, WestWood?" A girl around his age asks, "I'm Lilla McJeffery, a pleasure to finally see you in person."
I smile and nod my head slightly.
"How cute," one of the girls who looked my age uttered, "But there's no room on the table so she'll have to go."
"Actually there's a seat right there." A boy comments
"That's for the Queen," another girl highlights, "You know that."
"I also know none of you are ever going to sit there so why not let her?" The boy continues
"That's not your decision to make, Jude." The girl hisses and the little squabbling continues between all of them.
All this over a seat?
I looked at Ethan who looked at me, I know he wouldn't want to choose. We have a telepathic thing going on, we had to master it during the visits where not everything could be said on the phone.
I nod my head slightly at him and he squeezes his eyes as if asking if I'm sure, to which I blink once and he sits down where he's supposed to.
"Sit down," a voice raises from the chaos and I turn to look at a dark-haired boy who sits at the top of the table with an empty chair next to him.
He didn't need to tell me twice

The Simulacrum
"He who fights with harem tropes should see to it that he himself does not become a harem protagonist. And if you gaze for long into a narrative, the narrative gazes also into you." --- Friedrich Nietzsche (probably?) How would you react if one day you woke up inside an environment running on tropes and clichés? For allegedly average high-schooler Leonard Dunning, this question became quite relevant when one day he woke up in a pristine city on a strange island in the middle of the Atlantic, without any memories, surrounded by classmates who are barely more than characterless placeholders, and with a classic indecisive harem protagonist and his impossibly beautiful love interests for friends. That would be hard to deal with already, yet his investigation into the tropes governing the world, trying to avoid harem shenanigans, and his odd blend of outside-context knowledge, unique abilities, and a penchant for causing trouble wherever he goes ends up dragging him into the center of the action anyway. Disclaimer: This is a tongue-in-cheek, slice of life romantic comedy, with occasional sprinkles of combat and mystery to spice things up. Please do not expect a straight up deconstruction beyond some in-universe meta-commentary by the characters.
