《Carnivore Girl: Jurassic Park》Sick Triceratops

Jenny's POV

"She'll be asleep soon, then we can run some more tests" I say as I take out the needle I used to tranq the triceratops. Once I arrived we decided to sedate the sick triceratops. So that we could run more tests to find out why they're getting sick in the first place. We could of used a dart, but I'd rather use a needle.

Just then I heard someone approaching us and turn to see Doctor Allan Grant. "Doctor Grant" I greet him shaking his hand. "Sorry you have to see her like this, she's usually not sick" I tell him. As he goes to pat her as Timmy appears with the others.

"Wow" he and Lexi say in awe.

"Don't be scared" I tell them as I wrap an arm around Tim's shoulders.

"She's being sedated, she's sick" the keeper tells the others.

"Oh my god" Ellie says as Allan pats the triceratops' thrill. She was still moving slightly as she lays on her side. "Hey" Elli says patting her peak as Timmy pats her head.

"Triceratops were my favourite as a kid and now I see, she's the most beautiful thing I've ever saw" Grant states.

"She is beautiful" I agree with him as I pat her side. Just then I see Ellie taking something off the triceratops' tongue. "What is it?" I ask her as I crouch down between her and Grant.

"Can I burrow a torch?" she asks. I hand her my small one and she looks into the triceratops' left eye. "What are her symptoms?" she asks the keeper as he walks over.

"Off balance, disorientation and labour breathing" he explains.

"Seems to happen about every six weeks or so" I add.

"Six weeks" Ellie says as Grant rests against the triceratops as she breathes. "The pupils are dilated, take a look" she tells us. She flashes the light in the right eye for the keeper and I to see. Ellie was right, her pupils are dilated.

"That's pathological" I state.

"Local plant life" Ellie says standing up looking around. "Is this west Indian lilac?" she asks heading other to one plant.

"Yes" I tell her as I stand along with the keeper.

"We know they're toxic, but the dinos don't ate them" the keepers states.

"Are you sure?" Ellie asks.

"Positive" he tells her.

"Only one way to be positive, I have examine her droppings" Ellie tells us.

"Follow me then" I say leading her to the triceratops' most recent droppings along with the keeper. I give her a pair of long gloves and she puts them on before examining the poo. "Well?" I ask her after a while.

"You're right no trace of lilac berries" she states. "That's so odd though" she says standing up removing one glove. We all head back to the triceratops that is now fully sedated.

"So did you see the t-rex?" I ask Lex and Tim.

"No she didn't appear, even when they brought out the goat" Tim tells me.

"I'm sorry, if I had been there she would of appeared" I tell them.

"We don't blame you Jenny" Lex assures me as a clap of thunder was heard. I look up with the others to see the storm clouds gathering over head.

"Doctors if you please, I have to insist we get moving" the lawyer states.

"If you don't mind, I'd like to stay a while" Ellie tells Allan.

"I have a jeep and we can return to the visitors centre together" I tell them.

"Great, I'll catch up with you guys" Ellie tells them smiling.

"You two behave" I tell Lex and Tim as I lead them back to the electric powered jeeps.

"We well, see you at dinner" Lex tells me. Once they were in the car I shut the door and return to the triceratops. I ask Ellie if she had any more ideas of how she (the triceratops) was sick.

"None so far" she tells me.

"We got the blood supple" the keeper tells me.

"Ok, give her some antibiotics and the antidote to the sedative" I tell him. "Hopefully, she'll be better by tomorrow" I say patting her. "Besides we have to leave soon or we'll be caught out in the storm" I state. The keeper does as I instructed saying he'd take the blood supply to the lab before going to the docks. While Ellie and I got into my jeep, where I drove us back visitors centre.

"So how long have you worked here?" Ellie asks.

"Since I was a child, I mainly work with the t-rex and raptors. But I have been learning to be a dinosaur vet. I also help with our future website" I explain.

"That's cool, where are your parents?" she asks.

"They died eleven years ago, grandpa raised me ever since. I practically grew up here" I tell her.

"Sorry for your lose" she tells me. We spend the rest of the journey brainstorming ideas of why the triceratops were so sick. We got to the visitors centre first as the storm hits and head straight to the computer room. Where Grandpa greets me with a hug.
