《My CEO Twins》13

I was at school. We were practicing as always. I sat on the stool with headphones on my ears and a microphone in front of me. Dylan and I were singing together while Aiden and Jordan did the background music. Then, during the middle of practice, my voice cracked. Everyone stopped and looked at me before bursting out laughing. I blushed.
"Have some water, Angie. You'll need it." Jordan snickered.
I huffed and took a gulp of water. All three of them began to laugh again. I scowled and my phone rang. I walked out and picked up.
Italic ~ Angel,
Hello?
Oh! Hello, Daddy! Do you need something cause I'm sort of in practice right now?
.......No?
Really?! I'm so sorry, Daddy! I was so busy with practice that I forgot to watch the time and my performance is coming up soon so I was worried and a bit str-
Yes, Daddy.
Bye, Daddy.
I hung up and sighed. I looked up at the ceiling before walking in.
"I have to go home. Xavier told me that he wants me home before 5:45. We'll practice more tomorrow." I said and grabbed my stuff.
"Woah, woah, woah! Xavier?! The actually Xavier?!" Aiden said, shocked.
"Yeah?" I said and walked out.
"Weird..." Jordan muttered.
I ran out and ran all the way home. I ran in and closed the door, panting. I was pooped. I mean, running from school to here is a long way. I also took the bus but majority, I ran. I leaned over, breathing hard.
"Angel, I'm in the office." Xavier's deep voice called.
"No problemo." I muttered under my breath and jogged upstairs.
I stood in front of the door hesitating. I lifted my hands up to knock when Xavier spoke.

"Come in."
I gulped and took a deep breath before walking in. I peeked in, slowly.
"Daddy?" I whispered, loudly.
"In here, baby." Xavier chuckled.
I walked in and closed the door. I sat down on the chair in front of him. Xavier looked up from his work.
"Let's talk about the time, Angel." Xavier said.
"O-Ok." I stuttered and clenched my legs together. His voice made my kitty feel tingly.
"Today, you were supposed to be home at 4:30 pm but you came home at 5:41 pm." Xavier said.
"I-I..." I stuttered when Xavier held up his hand, stopping me.
"I know that you have practice and all but, can't you at least tell me or Daddy Adam that you'll be coming home late?" Xavier asked me, sternly. The tingly feeling went away and disappointment came instead because I disappointed Xavier.
I looked down at my hands, ashamed. "I'm sorry, Daddy...I was so busy that I forgot and I wasn't watching the time."
I heard Xavier sigh, loudly. "What am I going to do with you?" What did I do?!
Fear flashed on my face. I don't want to be punished! I was late once! Once!
"Daddy, please don't punish me! It was only once! I won't do it again!" I pleaded as tears well up in my eyes. I don't want this to be like the orphanage where they hurt me and punish me. Usually, Bob finds some lame excuse to punish me with Cassie and it still haunts me during my dreams rarely! I felt my back where my scars are tingly as I remembered the feeling of being 'punished' in the orphanage.
Xavier looked at me with his eyes wide. "Hold your horses! Who said I'm going to punish you for coming home late for just a day? Isn't that a bit strict?"

I sniffed and wiped my eyes. Why am I comparing Xavier to the orphanage.... "No...I have to go, Dad. I have homework."
I jumped off the seat and left the room, not noticing Xavier's shocked face. I need to calm down.
Xavier's POV
I was silent for a while before a horrified look appeared on my face. What the hell did I do?! Was I too hard on her? She called me 'Dad' not 'Daddy'....
"ADAM!!!" I yelled and ran off looking for my twin.
Adam's POV
I was cooking dinner when I heard Xavier shouting for me. I heard footsteps running toward the kitchen. I looked up when he reached the kitchen.
"Something's wrong with Angel! I wanted to have a talk to her because I wanted to know why she came home late. Then, she started to cry and panic about getting punished. After that, she left and called me 'Dad'! Not 'Daddy'!" Xavier wailed. Wow, for a supposedly coldhearted man, he's a softy to Angel. I knew this was a good idea. "Hey! Are you listening to me?! This is a lot more important than what you are thinking about! I can't live without Angel's smiles, giggles, and voice! I think she's driving me insane over her....Just so you know, this is your fault."
"In a good way. So anyways about Angel, she trusts us a lot. At the orphanage, she was....er....abused by the owner and the other children there so she gets frightened when someone she trusts hurts or punished her. It's that or......she's still scared of you and doesn't fully trust you." I said as I stirred the pot of soup. "Here, taste this."
Xavier took a sip and gagged. "Too plain. I don't think she's scared of me. I think she's still being haunted by her past. I wish I could just shut down that orphanage. Who knows what the owner would do to the other children."
I smiled to myself. Angel is changing him and me a lot. "I guess....but we need proof and evidence to show that the orphanage needs to be shut down. We'll have the other orphans in a different orphanage." I suggested.
"Great idea, Adam! Let me just try to find some evidence!" Xavier said, excitedly and ran off to his office, determined to find evidence to shut down the no-good-orphanage.
Xavier is really determined to do something else rather than his first. That's a surprise and also the first time. I turned to the calendar and wrote it down, proudly. I am going to celebrate this day from now on because it is the day Xavier stop his own work to help Angel out! I'm so proud of him!
Day: May 23

Romance - plus Judgemental Powers? Completed
Blue was a red headed boy who desperately wanted a girlfriend. So he asked the class beauty to walk home with him. She very nicely refused him. So he asked another girl in the same class, one with an average rating in the social status ranking. She also refused him. So, still desperate, he thinks – “I’m probably at the bottom of the ranking for boys in this class, so how about I ask the girl who is also at the lowest ranking?” The girl’s name was Pink. She said yes. Gulp. “What do I do now?” was his reaction. Well, obviously, have a romance. And, along the way, they get one hell of a lot more than they bargained for. Like, for example, supernatural Judgemental Powers. How did they get those? And that was only the start. The two most insignificant students in their class become famous. Not just in their class or even in their school, but to the population at large. They end up breaking and making the top politicians and rulers of their country. But finally, of course, they get what they wanted. A committed relationship. This is an Esmeralda the Angel of Death story. It follows on from my previous novel “Maybe it would have been a good idea not to wish for a harem?”, however it is a totally separate story with only a minimal overlap in the characters. There is no need to read the first story to enjoy this one. Although you just might enjoy the first story also… This story has multiple characters and multiple Points of View. Every POV change is clearly marked with a new header. Inside each POV section, the POV character’s thoughts are in italics. This story has about 105,000 words (about 380 RoyalRoad pages). It is fully written and proof read (the poor man’s proof read using Word). It has 25 chapters, and will be published at the rate of roughly one chapter per day.
