《The Match ✓》Chapter 5💃🏻

Dinner actually went rather well and while everyone else left beside myself, Ridley (who has not spoken a word the entire evening) and Steel as we helped Mark clean up afterwards. "I'm getting a free ticket to your show, right?" Mark asks as I'm putting the dirty dishes into the dishwasher, and he's putting all the leftover food into containers so it easily fits in the fridge. "You should know by now you always get a free ticket" I remind him, and he chuckles at me. "You should go home, you're going to need all the rest you can have" He tells me and I smile at him.

"I'm just going to finish this and then I'll be sailing back" I tell him, and he scoffs. "You just can't help yourself, can you? Always helping others" He asks me but I know it was not a question that I should answer as we both know the answer. We have known each other for so long. I finish doing the washing up and then I gather my things and was about to head for the door. "Let me walk you home" Steel's voice comes behind me as I was about to reach for the door handle.

I turn around to face him to see the same expression that he has had on the entire evening but somehow his eyes would always soften when he looks at me and I can't be sure if that is just the angle that I look at him from or if it does take place. "Actually I came here by car but I can drive you home if you want, it would be no trouble, really" I tell him with a kind smile. I don't know why but I feel like the two of us are alike, maybe it is our quiet personalities but there is something that speaks to me about him.

Though I'm having a hard time listening what that something is but like with dancing it doesn't make sense at first but as soon as you start to study it and practice it will start to0 unfold the secrets, layer by layer and before you know it, you have mastered it and ready to show the world the talent that you possess. He sharply nods. Walking over to me he goes behind me and opens the door for me, holding it until I have gone outside, and then he exits too.

I lead him towards my car and as I was about to open the driver's seat door he goes in front of me and opens it for me which makes me let out a small giggle. The sound that I created makes him stiff beside me but I pay no attention to that as I get into the car, and he closes the door. I'm quick to put the key in and turn on the engine to get the heat going as it's rather cold out here. Meanwhile I do that Steel gets on the other side of the car.

Once we are both inside I start driving. "Where do you live?" I ask him kindly, though as it's so dark out here I need to pay more attention to the road and anything that could or could not be running across or for any cars or just about anything. "You can drive to your apartment and then I can walk from there" He speaks. For a moment I'm stunned at his words. "In this cold, I would feel comfortable if I drove you home. You're not wearing any warm clothes" I say to him.

All evening I've been avoiding looking at his body because I know I would drool, he's in perfect shape and even beyond that. He is tall, and he has muscles that even I can't seem to understand how is possible. But I did learn that he's a boxer and Ridley is training him, and he does a good job at this because Steel is the most perfect man that I have ever met. "I don't want you to be alone" He speaks. He doesn't make much sense but I decide not to question it because it would seem he's in a foul mood now.

A song comes on in the radio and I start humming along with the tune as it is a song that I know rather well and I have actually had a routine with it some years ago. Music has always been a way for me to travel into another world almost without knowing how or why but I can feel myself become someone else and to express that I dance. Though I can't dance in the car right now, I know that I will most likely dance back at home (with limit space).

By the time that the song (which is about five minutes) I'm already in my street parking my car and I turn off the engine. "You have a beautiful voice" Steel says, for a moment I had forgotten that he was even here at all. Somehow it feels nice to have him around, knowing that he is not here to judge me or to make me work on things harder and make it perfect, he just appreciates me. "Thank you" I speak as the blush is rising to my cheeks like fireworks have burst inside me and are showing their color.

We head out of the car and I get a thought. "You could stay the night in my apartment. It's not large but it does have a spare bed since my roommate is always on the couch. It's the least I could do, you've been so kind to me and I feel terrible if you're walking home in this cold" I tell him. I truly do feel bad about it, I don't even know if he lives near or far but I have never seen him before, so I would have to say far. He nods his head. "All right then, it has been decided" I speak with a cheery face and somehow I can feel that this is a start of something new and something... different.
