《The Match ✓》Chapter 1💃🏻

Letting the soul guide me as I dance on the floor. The rest of the world just fading into the background as there is only the music and the dance inside me that fills me up. The empty ballet training room makes everything better as I am all alone here late in the evening but despite that I do not feel lonely at all. My body moves along and glides on the floor as I jump and twist and turn, using every muscle that my body has. Happiness lurking deep within me and it brings itself form to the surface.

Minutes pass before the routine is over and panting I sit down on the floor to stretch my body after having danced until my muscles are aching and my body tired and exhausted after the day that I have had. Even when tired the smile on my face doesn't disappear and neither is it going to. The music stops playing in the background which only leaves the silence and my panting the only sound that I can hear but that doesn't matter to me that much. After I've stretched and relaxed a bit I stand up from the floor, really feeling how tired my body is.

Walking to the locker room I quickly remove all my clothes and take a shower to strip away the cold sweat and give warmth to my muscles. Once I'm done I dress myself into some normal clothes and take everything with me in a small gym bag that I put over my shoulder. Turning off the lights in the locker room I was about to close the door when I heard a strange sound coming from the locker room. It sounded like shuffling of some kind, so I turn back the light on and take a look around the locker room.

"Hello, is someone there?" I gently call out, my voice echoing inside the locker room as I had looked around but found not signs of anyone. I get my answer back from anyone and the sound I don't hear again so with a shrug I turn off the lights once again and close the door. Entering into the hallway I turn off all lights and then head for the back entrance and once I have exited I lock the door and walk towards my car that I parked nearby and enter it as quick as I can.

The chill of winter is really starting to show itself everywhere as my bones are freezing at this point. I turn the heat on high in the car as I start driving into the evening, the sun already set as it does early when the winter is arriving to greet us with frost and snow but also a lot of fun and joy. Driving home is only about ten minutes but as it is late in the evening, finding a parking spot is not the easiest thing in the world, I must admit and I have to park a bit far from my apartment building.

Once again I walk in the chilly air and even when there is no wind blowing it is still rather cold out here to the point where as soon as I enter the semi-warm building I'm shivering. Holding my bag I walk up the stairs to the second floor where I unlock my door and walk inside my apartment. Turning on the lights I take a deep breath as I enter. My roommate is sleeping on the couch as usual as he had fallen asleep watching a movie. He works long hours and when he gets home he usually eats and puts on a movie to sleep, then repeat.

Going into the kitchen I get myself a glass of cold water and then walk into my room where I close the door and sit down on by my desk. There has been laid out a half-solved jigsaw puzzle which I'm still working on and have been for some time now but finding time to do it is hard and I'm always exhausted when I get home. Though I do work on it, it's a picture of a kitten, a cute one in rose bushes.

It's only about a thousand-piece puzzle but I really like this one and it does keep me occupied whenever I have time for it and I don't get bored or frustrated. As I'm working on it, I get a phone call. Picking the phone up, I answer it after seeing who is calling. "Mark, hey" I say into the phone. "I tried to call you before but you didn't answer" He says and I let out a giggle as I adjust myself in the chair. "I was practi-" "Practicing, yes I know all about that" He tells me and I roll my eyes.

My best friend Mark does know me the best. "What did you want?" I ask him and he chuckles. "What, can't a guy call his best friend or is that illegal now?" He asks me, but it wasn't a question that I'm supposed to answer though. "Anyway, I'm having a dinner party tomorrow, some friends from work and I wanted to have you there since they all believe this mysterious dancer that I keep telling them about is not even real at all" He says and I laugh at that but know it is the truth.

"I would love to come to your dinner party, as long as you're doing the cooking" I say. Mark's mother is a chef, and she makes amazing food, and she has taught him a thing or two about cooking, and he does get his talent from her, still he has never been that interested in making cooking his passion, his one lies in architecture. "Great, I will see you around seven. Though I suppose you're going to be arriving a bit later because of your practice" He says. We both laugh. "You know me so well" I say, then we say our goodbyes and hang up the phone, though the two of us can chat for hours with no end but that is not happening tonight.
