"Wow" Dec leant forward and whispered into Ali's ear as she took her place next to him at the alter "you look stunning"

"Thanks" Ali smiled "you don't look so bad yourself"

"Nice earrings" Dec grinned.

"Yeah, some fella bought me them" Ali giggled.

"He's got great taste" Dec quipped.

"Ready you two?" Dermott interrupted.

"Yes" they both replied.

The crowded church full of people, watched on as the the couple looked into each others eyes and began to follow Dermotts lead and say their vows.

"Now Declan" the older brother announced as the vows continued "repeat after me...I Declan Joseph Oliver Donnelly"

"I Declan Joseph Oliver Donnelly" dec obligingly repeated.

"Do take the Alison Astall" Dermott continued.

"Do take the Abigail Astall" Dec grinned.

The congregation erupted into laughter at Decs jesting. They all knew that this was Dec just being his usual cheeky self and not a slip of the tongue or Dec embarrassingly saying another womans name by mistake, this was just Dec at his humourous best.

"Declan" Dermott snapped. He glanced over to their Mam,he and Anne had already predicted that Dec would do something daft during the ceremony, they just weren't sure what.

"Sorry" Dec giggled as Ali shook her head affectionately at him.

He soon said his vows exactly as he should have.

Anne and Patricia both shed a happy tear for their little Decky, stood at the altar with his bride and a huge smile on his face.

"I now pronounce you man and wife" Dermott beamed "Declan, you may kiss your bride"

The congregation erupted into rapturous applause as Dec kissed Ali on the lips, before turning to everyone and announcing in a loud voice "I'M MARRIED"

"Yeah,he is" Ant joined in joyfully "he's finally married"

Ant proceeded to wipe a tear from his eye.For once,he was the more emotional person out of him and his best friend,Dec had basically just grinned the whole way through the ceremony.

It had been a complete joy to watch Dec get married,Ant had wanted for as long as he could remember to see Dec settled and happy as he was with Lisa, well, most of the time he was happy with Lisa,so this was an extra special day.

As Dec and Ali emerged from the church, the large crowd who had been waiting patiently outside, went wild, clapping and cheering for the newlyweds.

Dec happily waved and smiled at his adoring audience, before he and his new wife climbed into the waiting Rolls Royce to be taken back to Maften Hall for the reception.

"Happy?" Dec whispered into Ali's ear as they sat at the head table.

"Very happy" Ali smiled "this is the best day of my life"

"Mine too" Dec nodded "and that's exactly how it should be"

Soon it was time for Ants best man speech.

"Oh God" Dec groaned "I hate to think what he's got planned"

"Don't worry" Ali laughed "there can't be that much that I don't know about you by now"

Ant proceeded to delight the guests with stories all about his and Decs life, career and friendship together thus far,not leaving many of Decs embarrassing moments out.

Dec hung his head in pretend shame as his and Ali's friends and family laughed along at the hilarious tales, including Decs first encounter with the demon drink as a teenager and his sunburnt feet on holiday amongst many other things, but it was the heartfelt description of Ants feelings towards Dec that pulled on everyones heartstrings.

"So..." Ant continued "I bless the day my little kidda here came into my life. After a shaky start back in the day,we soon became an inseparable duo.He makes me laugh,he makes me cry,he loves,he cares,he worries,he panics and he gets stressed easily, not to mention often being an argumentative, little shit, but I wouldn't change a single thing about him,I absolutely wouldn't have him any other way"

Many people around the room were discreetly attempting to wipe their tears away.

"So Decs" Ant smiled "I'm so happy to have met you,I can't imagine how empty my world would have been without you, you're the most amazing pal a guy could ever have and I'm so proud to call you my best friend,I love ya mate"

Ant looked directly into Decs eyes "we've been through a lot together haven't we Decs?but we've always come through it even stronger"

Dec nodded tearfully in agreement.

"I'm so happy to see the day when someone has finally taken him off my hands" Ant winked at Ali "good luck girl, you're gonna need it"

"I can handle him" Ali grinned.

"I'm sure you can" Ant laughed "but seriously,I'm so happy for the both of you and I wish you many happy years together with loads and loads of babies,so Dec will finally have to be one of the grown ups in the house"

Dec shook his head playfully at Ants continuous attempts to embarrass him.

"But seriously" Ant smiled "if you'll raise your glasses and make a toast to the happy couple...to Dec and Ali"

"To Dec and Ali" the crowd repeated as they all took a sip of their champagne.

Dec got up from his chair to hug his best man.

"Thanks Ant" he smiled "that was great,if slightly embarrassing"

"Well" Ant laughed,as he returned the embrace "it wouldn't be a best mans speech without some degree of embarrassment would it?"

"I guess not" Dec grinned "and you well and truly got me back for my speech at your wedding"

"Yep" Ant beamed "about time too eh?"

Dec and Ali and their friends thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the day, especially when Ant sneakily arranged with the evenings DJ to replace their first dance song with 'Let's Get Ready To Rhumble' which caused much hilarity. That joke never got old, especially when it was done by Ant or Dec themselves.

After just a few lines of the song, the DJ stopped the track and played Dec and Ali's chosen first song.

Dec took Ali's hand and led her into the middle of the dance floor, pulling her in towards him as the first chords of Lonestars 'Amazed' played.

The crowd watched on happily as Dec and Ali got lost in the moment, now completely oblivious to all the people around them.

'I don't know how you do what you do

I'm so in love with you

it just keeps getting better'

Dec sang along gently to Ali as they swayed soothingly to the music.

Ali smiled sweetly, lapping up every moment of her husbands affection.

'I wanna spend the rest of my life

with you by my side

forever and ever'

Dec continued singing quietly into her ear until the song ended and he and Ali looked into each others eyes, still holding hands.

"I meant every word of that song" Dec beamed, before leaning in to kiss his new bride as their willing audience burst into applause.

"Me too" Ali whispered back.

Dec then turned sheepishly to his and Ali's guests, suddenly becoming acutely aware that every tiny display of affection he showed his wife was being watched.

"Ok,that's enough of that sloppiness" he grinned to everyone "let's party"

With that, the DJ immediately put on a more up tempo number and the floor was soon packed with people wanting to dance the night away.

At the end of the night,Dec and Ali said their goodbyes to their guests and made their way upstairs to their hotel room.

"What are you doing?" Ali asked surprised as Dec attempted to scoop her off her feet.

"Carrying you over the threshold of course" Dec groaned as he struggled to pick up his much taller wife.

"Better hurry up then" Ali laughed.

Dec just about managed to carry Ali into the room and throw her onto the bed, before collapsing in a giggling heap on top of her.

They went to bed exhausted that night, but it had been the best day ever, they couldn't have wished for more.

Their close family and friends had been there to watch them get married, the church was beautiful and the hotel where the reception was held and they were staying was stunning, the weather had been amazing and everyone had laughed, some had cried tears of joy and quite a few had a bit too much to drink, but Dec and Ali wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

It had been absolutely perfect!

Dec and Ali were spending a couple of nights at the hotel before returning to London and jetting off on their honeymoon a few days later.

After much debating about the destination, they had decided to spend the best part of a month in Australia. They hadn't been too sure in the beginning as they would be doing exactly that again for I'm a celebrity in just a few months time, but in the end,the pros outweighed the cons and they just decided to go for it.

Obviously once they were there for I'm a celebrity, that would be work.Sure they'd still manage to get some time to themselves, but it was still completely different from a honeymoon.Even doing the long flight twice ina few months wasn't a problem as they were lucky enough to be able to afford to fly first class.

So it was settled.Australia would be where they would spend their honeymoon. They would be able to see some of the beautiful country that they'd never seen before and they could meet up with some of Ali's Australian relatives,it was a win win situation.

After all the packing and preparation was done,Dec had one last thing to do the day before they flew out.

"I just wanted to come and say goodbye to you before we go" Dec smiled as he stood on Ants doorstep.

"Come on in then" Ant invited.

Dec made himself comfortable on the sofa as Ant made him a cup of green tea.

"Still don't know how you can drink that stuff?" Ant pulled a disgusted face.

"I like it" Dec shrugged "and why have you got it in your cupboard if it's so bad?"

"Because we buy it especially for you" Ant laughed "and you know that. You all ready for the trip?"

"Yeah,I think so" Dec nodded "Ali's just running around like a headless chicken making sure we haven't forgotten anything"

"Really?" Ant asked surprised "that's not like her, she's always so calm, that's what makes her such a great manager after all"

"I know" Dec giggled "guess she's just had too much sugar"

"Yeah, maybe" Ant laughed "you're going to have a great time in Oz though, see places you've never seen, meet people you've never met before"

"I'm really looking forward to it" Dec smiled "and there's a hell of a lot of Ali's family that I haven't met yet"

"What's the plan then?" Ant asked.

"Couple of weeks in New South Wales with her relatives, then a couple of weeks travelling around" Dec smiled.

"So you're finally becoming a backpacker at the ripe old age of almost forty?" Ant joked.

"Hardly" Dec grinned "luxury hotels the whole way"

"Don't blame you for that kidda" Ant smiled.

"Well,I guess I'd better get back" Dec announced "early night, then early start tomorrow"

Ant got up to see Dec to the door, stopping in the hallway just before he opened it.

"Have a brilliant time Decs" Ant beamed, while holding out his arms, inviting Dec in.

"Thanks" Dec whispered,as he sank into Ants loving embrace "I'll miss you though"

"Declan" Ant stated firmly,as the duo parted and Ant placed his hands on Decs shoulders, looking him squarely in the eyes "it's your honeymoon for Gods sake,I'm the last person you should be thinking about"

"So I'm not allowed to miss you?" Dec frowned "we've never been apart this long since we first met"

"Ok" Ant laughed "you're allowed to miss me a little bit and I'll miss you too,but just go and enjoy yourself will ya?and give my love to Ali"

"Ok" Dec grinned as he hugged Ant again "I'll see you in about a month then"

Ant watched and waved as Dec took the short walk back to his house. He knew they were going to have an amazing time and couldn't have been happier for them, but he was actually going to miss Dec a lot more than he let on,although deep down Dec knew that too.

Ant sighed to himself as he closed the front door.He made his way back into the living room and sat alone and motionless on the sofa, deep in thought. He was thinking about how things weren't really going so great for him at the moment.

Nobody knew it,not even Dec,but he and Lisa had been niggling at each other a bit lately, not about anything serious, just little things that irritated them about each other, things that they should really just let go,.

Ants knee was still bothering him a lot too and the various private doctors that he'd seen had turned out to be pretty useless, not believing that there was a problem, instead just prescribing even stronger and more addictive painkillers for Ants supposedly 'phantom' pain.

And now,on top of all that,he had to spend a whole month without his Declan. It was too depressing for Ant to even try to deal with.Obviously,he would never have let on to Dec about how he was feeling,or anyone else for that matter,so he did the one thing that came naturally to him now.

He reached over and took his trusted bottle of pills from the coffee table!
