"You stayed back to say goodbye to a lizard?" Dec laughed.

"Well" Ant smiled "it's not just any old lizard is it?it's Michael Gecko and he's been a constant companion to me the whole time I've been here"

"And Lisa hasn't?" Dec enquired.

"Yeah,of course she has,but I'm taking her home with me" Ant pointed out "Michael's staying here"

"Thought I was supposed to be the daft one" Dec grinned.

"Yeah,you still are" Ant jested "but me and Michael here have bonded,he's kept me company through a few sleepless nights while we've been here,had some great chats we have"

"Ok" Dec laughed "I think maybe we shouldn't have let you stay out in the sun for so long"

"What?" Ant smiled "he was a great listener,I'm gonna miss him"

"Have you been feeding him?" Dec frowned.

"Might have snuck him some little bits of fruit while Lisa wasn't looking" Ant nodded.

"Yeah and you'll be sneaking him in your suitcase back to England next" Dec replied.

"Ooh that's an idea" Ant beamed "never thought of that"

"Yeah and you'd be hit with a hefty fine when we get back to England" Dec stated "that is if they don't find him before you even get on the plane this end,they're pretty thorough here"

"Ha" Ant laughed "I'm just kidding,of course I'm not going to try and take him home"

"Well,let's go then" Dec replied "we have got a plane to catch you know"

"Alright,I'm coming" Ant sighed "just give me two minutes"

Dec watched on in mild amusement as Ant said goodbye to his beloved,temporary pet.

"Well,Michael" he smiled "it's been fun hasn't it?thanks for being such a great pal and sticking by me...umm literally...these last few weeks and listening to me so intently.Sorry I rambled on so much some days,couldn't help myself like,I just had so much to tell you.Anyway,I hope the next guests in this room are good to you and love you as much as I do,I don't want to think about what would happen to you if they don't"

Ant shuddered at the thought of Michaels untimely demise if someone took a dislike to him.

"Never thought about what would happen to him after we left" Ant frowned "what if someone kills him?"

"Then you won't even know about it" Dec stated.

"Nah,can't risk it" Ant replied "I'm gonna put him outside,he's probably lonely in here anyway,with all his little lizard pals being out there"

"Ok" Dec replied impatiently "then put him outside and let's go,I'm not missing this flight because of a bloody lizard"

"Calm yourself Decs" Ant smiled "we've got hours yet and it's not just any old lizard,it's Michael"

"Well...get Michael outside then and let's go" Dec pleaded.

"Not sure how to" Ant pondered "he'll probably shoot off pretty damn quickly if I touch him"

"Just usher him towards the balcony" Dec suggested "and he'll find his own way down"

Ant picked up a magazine from the table and started giving Michael a very gentle nudge with edge of it, causing the little fella to scurry up the wall and onto the ceiling,settling upside down on the light fixture.

"Wow,he is fast" Ant observed.

"Now what do you suggest?" Dec asked curiously.

"Pass me that broom" Ant replied.

"You're not going to bash him with it surely?" Dec asked shocked.

"Of course I'm not you idiot" Ant replied "I'm just going to use it to cajole him into coming down or maybe he'll just jump onto it and make this whole task a hell of a lot easier"

"Yeah,I don't think he's going to cooperate with that somehow" Dec laughed.

Ant was soon gently trying to entice Michael down from his new resting place,much to Decs amusement.

"Come on Michael" Ant encouraged "please don't be stubborn,I have enough stubborn little people in my life already"

Dec frowned,but kept quiet at what was obviously a playful dig at him.He just watched in amusement as Michael scurried all over the ceiling with Ant and the broom in hot pursuit.

Eventually,Michael seemed to tire of the game and started to make his own way off of the ceiling and down the wall.

"Quick Dec" Ant stated,slightly flustered "open the balcony door"

"Ok" Dec laughed "you'd think you might have done that before you started chasing him around the room"

"Just open it will ya?" Ant snapped.

Dec obliged as Ant continued to usher Michael towards the door.

"Finally" Ant laughed as he watched his little pet scurry over the door frame and out onto the balcony "I'm knackered after that"

"Just hope a huge bird doesn't swoop down and eat him now" Dec mused.

"DECLAN" Ant shouted "that's not nice"

"Well,it's possible" Dec shrugged "that's nature for you"

"Well,I'm not going to entertain that thought for a moment longer" Ant insisted "I'll just imagine him running free in the undergrowth"

"Yeah,you do that" Dec laughed "now can we go please?"

"Ok,ok,let's go" Ant smiled as he locked the balcony door.

"What took you so long?" Ali asked as the boys finally joined the group waiting for them in the lobby.

"You don't want to know" Dec mused.

"Doesn't matter" Ali stated "you're here now,let's get going shall we?"

Soon Ant,Dec,Lisa,Clare and Ali as well as the celebrities who had starred in the show and their partners were sitting in a large area of the first class lounge of the Australian airport reminiscing about the last few weeks.They all agreed that it had been an amazing experience,even the arguments in camp were now looked back on with fondness,even though they'd seemed so serious at the time.

As the group separated into their own little bubbles of people discussing different topics,Ali had a surprise announcement to make.

"So Ant,Dec,I've got something else lined up for you now that 'I'm a celebrity' has finished" she informed them.

"What?" Ant and Dec replied together.

"A part in a movie?" She beamed.

"A movie?" Ant replied stunned "what the hell?"

"Ok" Ali laughed "don't get too excited,you're not going to be the leading roles or anything,they just want you for cameos"

"Oh really?" Dec frowned "that's a shame,quite fancy myself as the next Steven seagal or Harrison Ford"

"And it's not an action film" Ali replied "so you can get that idea out of your head"

"What is it then?" Ant enquired.

"A romcom" Ali smiled.

"A romcom?" Ant frowned "is that really us?"

"Well,maybe you'll be a bit more keen on the idea when I tell you the big names who are starring in it" Ali teased.

"Go on then" Dec grinned "impress us"

"Well" Ali replied "it's called 'Love Actually' but it won't be released until Christmas 2003,it's got Emma Thompson,Bill Nighy,Colin Firth,Hugh Grant,Alan Rickman,Keira knightly and Liam Neeson,just to name a few"

"Those are some big names" Dec nodded.

"Yeah they are" Ali agreed.

"We'll do it" Ant cut in.

"I know you will" Ali grinned "I've already confirmed that"

"Oh have you?" Ant laughed "so we don't get a say in it?"

"Nope" Ali replied playfully "that's why I'm your manager"

"Not like you to be so star struck Dec" Clare observed.

She was right of course,Ant and Dec had got totally used to being in the company of well known celebrities by now,some they even considered to be friends,but these were some huge movie star names,very well known in the British film industry.

"Might not get another chance to work with them" Dec shrugged.

"Er...you won't be working with all of them Declan" Ali pointed out.

"What's our part then?" Ant asked curiously.

"Well" Ali smiled "your scene is with Bill Nighy and you'll be playing yourselves"

"Shouldn't be hard then" Dec grinned.

"Exactly" Ali nodded "you'll be getting your scripts in the post within a few days"

"When do we start filming?" Ant enquired "if it's not going to be released for over a year?"

"In a couple of weeks I think" Ali stated "they haven't given me an exact date yet,but movies are made a long way in advance"

"Got a busy few months haven't we Decs?" Ant observed.

"Yeah,we have" Dec nodded "we need to carry on planning the next series of Saturday Night Takeaway when we get back"

"We've already got people working on that" Ali smiled "at least give yourselves a couple of weeks off first,go and visit your families or something,you don't know when you'll get the chance again"

"Yeah" Dec smiled "that's not a bad idea,will probably be Christmas at least before we have the chance to get back to Newcastle again"

"Yeah" Ant agreed "our Mams would love to see us"

"That's sorted then" Ali replied "you guys go and visit your families once you've got your energy back from this trip and I'll take care of things down here"

"Thanks Ali" Dec smiled and winked at his manager,which didn't go unnoticed by Clare,but she kept quiet.

The exhausted gang arrived back at Heathrow airport the next day and made their way to their separate homes.

Ant had already announced that he was going to fall straight into bed when he got in,even though he'd slept for a good few hours on the plane.He didn't care if it made the jet lag drag on even longer and would be harder to get over,he just wanted to flop into his own bed,with his own pillow and his own cosy duvet.

Dec on the other hand was determined that he was going to stay awake until at least ten o'clock that night if it killed him,he swore that was the only way to deal with jet lag.Clare went home to her own flat,choosing not to be around him if he was going to be tired and irritable,which he undoubtedly would be.

Unsurprisingly,he definitely was irritable,so it was a good thing that he could potter around in his house on his own,before collapsing into bed at precisely ten o'clock.

A couple of days later,the boys were being driven up north for their visits with their families,this was definitely a preferable way to travel,no more waiting around at train stations and having to drag their luggage around with them,they could be driven door to door which was always a bonus.

After dropping Ant off at Christines house first,Dec finally arrived at his family home to a very warm welcome from Anne and Fonsey.

"It's so nice to have you home Decky" Anne smiled as she sat next to him on the sofa "I've missed you so much,it's been ages"

"I know" Dec sighed "I'm sorry Mam,we've just been so busy,I wish I could make it back home more often"

"I know pet" Anne smiled "I just miss you that's all,we both do,but we're so glad you and Ant are doing so well,you deserve it"

"Thanks Mam" Dec smiled "I've had an idea"

"Uh oh,watch out" Fonsey laughed "the littlen's had a lightbulb moment"

"Shut up Dad" Dec laughed "I think you'll like it,the both of you"

"Go on then" Fonsey smiled "tell us your idea?"

"Well" Dec continued "you know how I don't really like to talk about money very much?"

"Yeah" Fonsey replied.

"Well" Dec smiled "I don't want to boast about how much money I've made over the last few years,but I do have to say that I am so excited to have made my first million,I just can't believe that"

"You deserve it Declan" Fonsey smiled "you've worked so hard for it and sacrificed so much to be where you are today,so enjoy every penny of it,but remember,always have some savings to fall back on because you never know where life will take you and what'll be just around the corner,always be prepared for the worse"

"Yeah,I am Dad" Dec replied "you don't have to worry about that,you taught me to be responsible"

"Glad you paid attention lad" Fonsey smiled.

"Yeah,I did" Dec replied "but the point I'm trying to make is...that I'm so grateful for everything you both did for me growing up,for all of us.I know you struggled financially so much"

"Ahh,we managed just fine" Anne smiled as she took a sip from her cup of tea "we always had food on the table and love in our hearts,that was all that mattered right?"

"Yeah" Dec nodded "but still,I know it couldn't have been easy for you both,so now that I'm in a position to show you my appreciation,I want to do something nice to thank you

"What do you mean lad?" Fonsey frowned.

Dec looked from one parent to the other and back again with a huge grin spreading across his face.

"I want to buy you a house!"
