"We should leave her alone, she will talk." he tells me.

"Won't you have issues with fairies?"

"Ehm," he laughs, "maybe." he smirks at me.

"You have to let me go before he comes here." she says.

"Shut up. Stop making excuses. I'm so sick of you, mother. Spill it and we will let you go."

"Baylor, I don't know what you want from me.

You have to tell me." she says.

"Huh? Isn't it obvious. I want to know why you left me and never contacted me."

"Bay."

"Great." she sighs, "You are really digging your grave."

"What is that supposed to mean?" I frown.

"When your father died, I had no choice. They banned me. The fairies always liked me and ... me and the king always had something."

"You cheated on my dad?" I ask her disgusted.

"No, it was before him, then i got married, had you."

"Right. I was in the way."

"Not like that, but when I came back, Ephron started to be insterested in me. We got married and now I'm the queen."

"Okay and the point is?" I ask her.

"THE POINT IS, that Ephron is a full blood fairie and a King. He likes perfection, okay?

He ... he doesn't want any imperfections in his Kingdom.

So - if you are - NOT a full blood fairy, NOT beautiful enough, if your partner cannot NATURALLY concieve baby with you, he ... will kill you." she says.

"What?" My mouth hangs low.

"He wants to get rid of any imperfections, Baylor. Hybrids, gays, bad genes- he doesn't want that.

And since he's the King, what he says goes."

"Your husband wants to kill me?" I ask her.

"Yes." she agrees. "that's why I can't be around you and he cannot know about you."

"How does he not know about me?" I ask her.

"I said our chid died and it was a girl."

"Hm ... so at least something you did right." I look at her.

"I'm sorry, Bay but you cannot go with me. Never."

"And you just let him do those things? Have kids with him?"

"I had to protect myself too. Either that or I would be an outcast and die ... or he would have the honors."

"Great, so I'm guess no mother son greetings."

She shakes her head. "I can give you a hug."

"Fuck off." I scoff and walk away.

"Hey, what did she say?" Leif stops me but I keep walking.

"Give her back to the fairies or her husband comes back and kills us all."

"What?"

"Do it Leif!" I scream at him frustrated.

"O-okay." Leif stutters.

I huff and walk away.
