Once Gaia left the room, I motioned for everyone to sit comfortably around the living room before I continue talking. It took a while for Edward to calm down but once he did, he sat in a solo recliner away from everyone else.

"Edward, I'm not going to shout at you just yet. I will because she is family to me but first I want you to know who Gaia Volturi really is. I just ask that you all do not interrupt me while I tell you her story. I know she won't mind me telling you as she has once told me 'a person's story is not taboo, it holds their strength and weakness but proves they don't define you.' She truly is a remarkable young woman." He lets out a small chuckle calling her young but she looks it.

"Gaia Volturi is Marcus' biological daughter, not adopted like Jane and Alec are to Aro. Marcus had a wife when he was human much like everyone else in Ancient Greek in those times, her mother much like Didyme was a happy person. She always had a smile on her face, however, she lost her mother due to an illness at the age of 18. Now that may not seem like a big deal but the three had a strong family bond. Both Marcus and Elani made sure Gaia wasn't married off at the age of 14 because they both thought their little girl should marry for love even back then." Carlisle took a few deep breaths remembering how heartbroken Gaia looked when she told him her story.

"Mere weeks after losing her mother, Marcus went missing. He was away for a while so Gaia thought the worst. She was alone in her village with no parents that meant she was ripe for the picking in a sense. One day, Marcus came home with red eyes and looking healthy but different, he changed his daughter as he came back just for her. He couldn't live his eternal life without his daughter. So after she was changed, they both were found by Aro and they developed the Volturi along with Caius who Aro changed as well. The vampire world back then was different to now. The kings fought for us to live peacefully without being hunted by humans. Many don't see that but it's true." He runs his hands over his face and tug his hair gently before relaxing back into the seat.

"Vampires back in the day had to actually starve themselves so they wouldn't be found out by humans. The look of a starving vampire is one that will haunt you for all your life not because of the vampiric memory. Gaia, bless her soul, saw far too many starving vampires in her early years. I think she still sees some every now and then. The Romanians were a very large problem as they actually were the ones to expose our kind to the humans as they wanted to rule them. So, the three kings plus our princess went to war. Caius being the skilled war strategist developed many flawless battle plans, Aro made sure to interrogate any Romanian fighters so he could see their plans. Now, you may think Gaia and her father stayed on the outside, that would be very wrong of you to assume. Gaia actually infiltrated the Romanian base and fought from the inside out. Marcus' job was to check that mates were either killed together or spared together so no one was under unnecessary hardship. He is a very merciful leader not wanting to separate a mate bond. While Gaia was in the base, some of the Romanian guard kidnapped Didyme, Marcus' mate and Gaia's stepmother. Stefan and Vladimir killed Didyme in front of Marcus and he had to watch his love lose her head and burn but also had to watch all the bonds connected to her snap and disappear." Carlisle holds Esme's hand while looking at his children. They all look devastated at the information they have heard. While he is looking at his children, a little indigo bunting bird came and landed on his shoulder. "Tell her that she is safe. They will understand her story. She can come down whenever she wishes." When he finishes his message, the small bird flies out of the window as Carlisle watches with a faint smile.

"Anyway, after Didyme's death, the Castle suffered. I joined them a few hundred years later and you could still see the destruction that her death caused. Gaia tried, as you can tell, she has an aura that emits joy. She's a mini Didyme in that regard. The dedicated Didyme section of the garden is full of flowers and beautiful vines due to one of Gaia's gifts. There are also hundreds of birds and butterflies too, that's also due to her gift, that's why I spoke to the little blue bird. She can speak to them which is also how I got most of the animal blood while living in the castle. She would find the elders of animal packs and ask them if they would like their suffering to end. She is merciful even to animals, she made sure the animals I killed had no young children or a mate. Gaia even attempted the animal diet, unfortunately after a month on the diet, flowers sprouted sporadically around the halls and throne room. It was quite hilarious seeing pink tulips and roses surrounding Caius' throne. He didn't look very menacing." Carlisle's chuckle was hearty and full of joy as he relived the memory. Edward had a small smile seeing the memory in his head. He saw how gorgeous Gaia looked with golden eyes but it didn't compare to her breathtaking look with her crimson ones.

"She had to return to human blood to control her gifts as it made her too weak to control them. She was the only one to see the benefit as she hated killing innocents. She made sure that the whole coven only killed humans with absolutely no family or they asked humans with severe depression and that were suicidal if they wanted to end their suffering. She is merciful. I cannot stress that enough. She kills murderers, child abusers, rapists, men who abuse women, she makes sure that it's mainly child abusers and killers she takes for herself. She had to watch people abusing children in her human life and made sure that never happens again. She donates money to charities that help abused families and gives money to orphanages. She also donates to children's hospitals. She is a gem."

Carlisle stands up and walks to stand in front of his first son Edward "You telling her that she is handed everything is so far from the truth it is insulting to everything she had achieved. She makes sure vampires have a good life and makes sure animals do as well. She rescues animals who are hurt and heals them back up or she ends their suffering if it's too far gone. Have you ever seen me with a blood bag and drinking from it? That's from Gaia. She send us blood bags full of animal blood of the animals who needed to be put out of their suffering. You better learn to respect her while she lives in our house or she can cut off your blood supply. She can make sure the animals hide from you or protect them with her flora manipulation. She is amazing. You better go find her and apologise because I swear to god Edward, if she is still upset by tomorrow, I will rip you limb from limb myself. I'm not a violent man but I will." The stern look in his eye was new to all his children. They could see how powerful the bond between the young girl and their father was. It was even stronger than their bond to the man.

Edward gulped and nodded his head "she really done all those things? How come...how come no one really has heard of her? She is better than the kings yet we don't hear of her." Edward's voice cracks a little thinking about how he has upset the small girl. With a nod of his head, he walks out of the house and follows the dark blue and orange flowers that he is guessing lead to the princess as they weren't there this morning.

When he sees her sitting on the ground with deer and a bear surrounding her, his unneeded breath gets caught in his throat with how ethereal she looks.
