《The Unwanted Mate (Edward Cullen x OC)》Heartbreak and Friendship

"But why should I give up my love for someone who he doesn't want?"
That one question stunned everyone in the entire throne room into silence. By this point, it's very obvious that this human doesn't truly understand the full magnitude of the situation. Uncle Aro recovers first "Dear Edward, do you mind if I see your side of the story?" Now, to the human this will seem like a question however, all the vampires know this is merely a demand.
Edward cautiously walks forward having to pry the girl off of his arm. A dazed look passed over Aro's eyes as he sees everything Edward has seen and thought. The frown on his face is enough to tell the Volturi something untoward is happening. "You are basing your mate status on the fact you cannot hear her thoughts? Dear boy, did it not cross your mind she merely have a mental shield?" I can't help the quiet giggle that passes from my lips and my luck, it doesn't go unnoticed.
Alice grins hearing my bell sounding giggle while the couple frown slightly, more the human than the depressed vampire. All of the guards have a passing smile hearing my giggle which is normal "Sorry I just, Carlisle was smart when he was with us. Surely he could see the signs of a mental shield as that's the only gift that doesn't work on her correct?" I ask more to Alice than my mate due to him being distracted. The slight nod of her head answers that question.
"So, Major Whitlock's gift still works on her as his emotional manipulation is of a physical capability. Alice's visions can still see her subjected future as it's not a mental attack on the human. Now, if I may ask the room, telepathy is a mental invasion as it is against one's natural instinct of privacy is it not?" The realisation dawns on every single person and I can't help the small smug smirk on my face.

My father and uncles look rather proud of me deducing her gift from mere information and the guests from the Cullen coven looked shocked I know so much about their gifts. I walk down the Dias to stand in front of Alice "I'm sorry if it freaks you out that I know so much. I guess that's how it may feel to be you sometimes since you know more information about a person before even meeting them." I hug the small pixie before skipping back to my father.
Aro gets a devilish smirk "I wonder if her mental shield is at its full capability. Should we test it? Jane" I grip my father's hand tightly as I know what's happening. Jane steps forward and thankfully her gift does not effect the human. "Well that's a shame isn't it? Now what do we do with the weak human as she knows too much and she is a liability now. And due to her being your mate I see no reason to turn her." Caius all but growls at the couple who look positively scared.
"Ah but you see brother, we could use a person with a gift like her's." Aro tilts his head from side to side pursing his lips slightly in thought. Suddenly, he claps and lets out a mischievous giggle "Oh I know! We can send her home give her a year to change then she can join the Volturi. However, due to not trusting Edward, our dear Gaia will be accompanying the couple to stay with the Cullen coven until her change and arrival to Volterra." I can't help but bounce letting my excitement show.
"Uncle please tell me you're being serious! I get to see Carlisle again! Oh and I get to meet the lovely Major Whitlock, oh and Esme, Carlisle's mate." I skip around the thrones before stopping in front of Aro's chair and hugging him tightly. "I better go pack" I squeal before running out and having Demetri run after me trying to catch up with my shear excitement.

Mordheim: Servants of The Damned (A Warhammer Fantasy Fiction)
“The Great Library,” Stated the stranger with a pause. “You know of it?”“Of course I do. In the Merchant’s Quarter?”“Yes, in the Merchant’s Quarter. I have gathered that there is an… artefact of importance within its walls.” Slowly, the figure produced a rusted key from the furls of his robes and held it in a black-gloved hand. “This opens the door to its chambers. It is the grimoire of Gunnar von Krugenheim, and I believe that it would serve better in the world than locked away in a dusty room.” Behind the cursed walls of Mordheim, warbands and gangs of all stripes are embattled in constant wars for resources and power. The cursed city attracts throngs in the thousands, searching for treasures, artefacts, power, and sometimes all three. The Cult of the Hidden Brethren is no exception, and when an opportunity to extend their reach is discovered, the cultists are eager to take the opportunity. However, not all is set in stone, and soon the cultists discover that the lure of power alone may not be enough to give them the drive required to see their quest done... --- Mordheim: Servants of the Damned is a fanfiction set in the world of Warhammer Fantasy, which is not owned by me but by the company Games Workshop. I of course, lay claim to nothing in this story but the characters I have created, and the core events of the story itself. This is my first true foray into fantasy writing, let alone Warhammer Fantasy, therefore any feedback is welcome. (It should be noted as well, the cover art is merely an artwork I found online and is not mine, therefore I do not lay claim to that either.)
