《My Blind Princess》Chapter 22

From a distance, Samael could hear people speaking. He couldn't make out what they were saying but if he focused enough he could hear them draw closer and closer. Samael was in complete darkness. His mind was still hazy and he didn't know where he was. One thing he did know was that the last thing he remembers was running into Alpha Vasiliev.
They had won the war and Eva was back in his arms.
His relaxed state was short-lived when thoughts of Eva popped up. His heart began to pound harder and faster. Where was his beloved? Was she still safe?
Samael tried everything he could to completely wake up. He yelled and yelled into the darkness but nothing happened. He struggled to move his body but nothing was obeying him.
Samael tried for what seemed like hours, yet his situation had not changed. The more time he spent in the darkness the more he worried about Eva. He worried about her condition and if she was being helped.
After everything they had gone through he could not let her go. He could not lose her. Better yet he WOULD not lose her.
|2 Days Later|
"Any change?" Amelie questioned as she sat on the hospital couch next to Misty.
Eva was in a hospital bed resting. The doctor said she had suffered some injuries but mostly she was just exhausted. Eva would wake up eventually.
"Nothing so far," Misty whispered.
"She's all I have," Misty added.
Tears formed in her eyes, seeing her precious child in that condition.
"Misty, you know what the doctor said. She will get better." Amelie tried to soothe Misty as much as she could but Amelie knew deep down. Misty had a pain in her heart that would never heal.
"I know she will get better but once she does wake up, she'll leave us. She will move to the Vampire kingdom and I'll only see her on holidays if that" Misty cried as she thought of how much she would miss her daughter.
Amelie sighed out and hugged Misty. Misty needed another child. Even now she wished she could have given Misty the one thing she has wanted all of her life. A child of her own. Eva was a miracle and just what Misty needed but now Misty was once again going to be reminded of how much she failed as a woman. Although no one thought that Misty couldn't help the depression that loomed in the back of her mind, constantly telling her how much she failed as a person and how much she couldn't be a good mate for Antonio seeing as she couldn't provide him with a proper heir.

"Misty, don't think like that. I'd give anything to see you happy once again." Amelie smiled as she wiped a falling tear from Misty's eyes.
The sound of someone clearing their throat made Amelie and Misty look up at the entrance to the hospital room.
"Baby, why are you crying?" Antonio cooed as he walked into the room.
"Eva is going to be fine. Even that God-forsaken prince is sadly going to live" Antonio scoffed. He wasn't all too happy that Sam would make it.
Misty slightly chuckled and looked at Antonio with sad eyes.
"As soon as she wakes up, she'll leave us" Misty whispered.
Amelie stood from her seat and walked out of the room. She left the couple with their child and headed into the Prince's room.
Samael was in a worse condition than Eva. He had fought off many wolves to make it to his Beloved. His injuries were much more severe. There came a point where he was running purely on adrenaline. When they reached Alexandrov and Axel they managed to get them out of the Castle and back to the pack but Samael's condition continued to grow worse.
They weren't sure that he would make it.
"Good Evening Ezra" Amelie smiled as she walked into the Prince's room.
"How is his highness doing?" Amelie questioned as she sat next to Ezra.
"Are you kidding? That's the most fun King Zane has had in a while." Ezra chuckled as he softly touched the prince's hand.
"How's he doing?" Amelie questioned with a whisper.
"His mind is strong. He will make it." Ezra stated.
Amelie simply nodded and let her mind fade to her best friend. Amelie wondered if there was any way she could cheer Misty up.
"Your friend is a bit weird. Her daughter seems to be doing better and yet sadness still looms over her like a cloud." Ezra spoke up as he shot Amelie a glance.
"Misty knows as soon as Eva is better she is going to head to the Vampire Kingdom. Now that the war is over she will be able to officially mate with Prince Samael and she will take over as the Vampire Queen." Amelie commented.

"Why not just have another child?" Ezra questioned.
"Misty is unable to bear children. She lost the first one and that alone almost killed her. Antonio and Misty decided not to try again." Amelie sighed out in frustration.
Ezra placed his hand on Amelie and froze. His face drew a blank as his eye fogged up with a white substance.
"Ezra?" Amelie questioned as she looked at Ezra.
Ezra didn't reply until his eyes cleared up and he looked at Amelie.
"Are you okay?" Amelie questioned.
"It seems Misty will in fact be able to have a child of her own." Ezra smiled as he looked at Amelie.
"What are you talking about? Misty can't have children." Amelie questioned.
"But you can. With the advanced technologies of today, you could carry Beta Stone and Misty's baby." Ezra smiled.
"What?" Amelie questioned in a shocked tone.
Ezra simply looked at Amelie with confusion. He had seen the future. Amelie would bare the child of Misty and Antonio. A beautiful baby boy who would take the beta title and grow up to be very similar to Eva.
"Is it true?" Antonio spoke as he interrupted the two.
Amelie and Ezra turned to the couple standing by the doorway. Misty and Antonio looked as Ezra and Amelie shock written all over their faces.
"From what I saw he will be very strong. Much like his older sister." Ezra mumbled as if he hadn't just solved years of worry for Misty.
"You saw him?! It's a boy?!" Antonio yelled as he walked into the room.
"Does he look like me? Or does he look like Misty? How old was he when you saw him? Is he strong? Does he take after me? Will he inherit the Beta title? When will he be born?" Antonio hounded as he grabbed Ezra's hand.
"Beta Stone!" Amelie reprimanded as she watched Ezra's eyes fill with confusion.
Antonio snapped out of his trance and quickly cleared his throat.
"I apologize Ezra. I just have so many questions."
"But I can't have children" Misty whispered as her eyes filled with tears and a twinkle of hope.
"Luna Amelie carries the baby to term. After you and Misty begin the In vitro process." Ezra explains to the dumbfounded couple.
"Eva?" Prince Samael whispers as he slowly starts to open his eyes.
The conversation at hand is quickly forgotten when everyone turns to look at Samael. Ezra quickly rushes to the prince's side and holds his hand.
"Eva is safe, we are back in Alpha Vasiliev's territory," Ezra explains to the confused Prince.
"I want to see Eva," Samael speaks as he is more alert now.
"She is just in the other room." Amelie explains as she watches Samael pull the blankets and all of the IV fluids from his arms."
"Prince Zane!" Amelie yelled out in shock.
"I am going to see Eva" Sam huffed as Ezra quickly bent a knee at his side and helped him up.
"Ezra?!" Amelie gasped as she watched him help Sam out of bed.
"He hasn't completely healed yet" Misty spoke up as a look of worry crossed her face.
"Take me to Eva," Sam ordered without a second thought.
Ezra didn't say anything, he simply did as he was ordered.

NOVA INTERIT.US
It's 2063, and the town along with much of the nation are in disarray. The decay started years before the Great Event. Our town still had hope thanks to the five families, who'd created a blockchain based water distribution system for the locals, a valuable secret hidden from the Global Water Commission and their network of mercenaries. Earlier in the mid-2040's, right after the state secessions of Idaho, Montana, and Texas, the Global Council of Water Commissioners made their deals and moved into towns throughout the country. They called it "the integration." The Commission and their contractors integrated with municipal water departments, using their organized network to invade like parasites on local services. It all coincided with the 29th Amendment to the United States Constitution, later referred to as the Regional Trident Plan. Nova is a story about survival, power structures, the turning of relationships, and the networking between people and the systems to which they belong. It’s about A.I. blockchain possibility, and its potential for human betterment versus our detriment. It’s about the question of whether or not we need to be saved from ourselves, and by who or what? The Great Event at the end of the first chapter might just be what actually saves us. The epilogue will take place in 2517. This scene is fully sketched and the full arc of the novel is set. I expect to finish Nova Interitus by summer of 2023. This is realist hard-sci-fi dystopian fiction. I hope you find Nova to be a challenging and consuming story. This is not something I planned to write. It all came to me in a dream and I haven't been able to stop writing it. This Royal Road posting is basically a beta test with chapters and drafts to get some feedback and see if there's any readership for this narrative. For the full experience read Nova on Substack. I will be narrating a podcast version later this year there. https://novainteritus.substack.com/

Join Reid as he struggles to keep his small settlement safe and protects a secret from his family in the mysterious cellar. Follow Hailey on a journey into the woods to discover the magical world. Will Jon and his young cousins follow in the dark footsteps of their family or will they set out on their own path? Author's Notes: My work is often graphic and mature in nature. I only recommend it for the fans who are not faint of heart. This work will contain swears, violence and occasional sexual dialogue. With that fair warning done, I plan to constantly edit previous chapters as I go back to them, so they are all subject to change over time. Most of the events will remain the same but as I get more time to write I'd like to add details that I couldn't add while constrained for time. Thank you for taking the time to check out Monolith! Really appreciate it. Hope you enjoy it and look forward to the upcoming events!

Meeting myself
Canceled (This was my first attempt at a story and while I really enjoyed it, I lost track of the thread of the story. The MC was too op, and except for some fun slice of life moments it just wasn't a very good plot. Anyway, I may come back and re-write this in the future because I really enjoyed the premise, but for now don't expect updates.)I've never met Karma; or at least I think I haven't. Hope, really, because I'm pretty sure she hates me. You see, the thing is, I've always hated flying. When you don't wind up getting molested (cavity searched), then your bags get lost, or you spend the entire flight sitting next to a crying baby. This flight was even worse than any of those things. You see, this flight killed me. I won't spoil it, but lets just say, Karma owes me a few explanations. NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE, deserves to die like that. Of course, that wasn't the end of my adventure, far from it. But, you'll just have to read the story to learn about that.(This is a mature fiction, so far their hasn't been anything overtly bad (some minor sexual innuendo and drug use), but their will be plenty of blood, gore, sex, all that good stuff... eventually)
