《My Blind Princess》Chapter 13

"So what happened?" Alana questioned with a smirk.
"We just talked. I told him what was going on. He will decide what happens next." Eva mumbled as she met up with Alexandrov and Alana.
The three of them decided to head back to the hotel and leave the decision up to the King.
2 Days Later
"Eva! How was your trip?" Misty smiled as her daughter climbed out of the SUV.
"Hey Mom, it was okay." Eva smiled as the smell of home filled her senses.
Misty pulled Eva in for a hug and smiled brightly. She had missed her baby girl. Eva returned her hug with as much vigor as she could muster.
"Have you eaten? The ladies in the kitchen can prepare something for you."
"Can you have them send it up to my room. I'm really tired" Eva smiled softly as she once again hugged her mother and walked to her room.
"Sure thing." Misty whispered as she knew her daughter was once again going to shut herself away in her room.
At The Vampire Castle
"You called for me your highness?" The private Investigator questioned as he bowed to the king.
"Yes, Ezra, it seems my son is forming a group to aid the werewolves. I would like you to join him and to also investigate Miss Stone."
"The Vampire from the Green Forest Pack?"
"Yes."
"May I ask why?"
"I just have to verify something. Please remember to be discreet. No one can know about this investigation. Especially my son."
"Of course your highness" Ezra replied as he once again bowed and left the King in his office to finish his royal duties.
2 weeks later
Eva sighed as she leisurely walked to the Alpha's Office. Alpha Vasiliev had called for her but she wasn't sure why. Most likely it was to talk about the battle plan against the Werewolf King. No word had come back from the Vampire King and she pretty much knew that he wouldn't help. Vampires were selfish creatures. Eva knew that for a fact. She was one of them.
She slowly knocked on the door and awaited a response. When the Alpha cleared his throat and granted her permission she entered.
"Good Afternoon Alpha," Eva spoke up as she bowed once walking in.
Eva had been so wrapped up in her mind that she hadn't noticed that the Alpha wasn't in his office alone.
"Ah, Eva, so glad you came. Prince Samael here just arrived with his team to help us out. The King has decided to give us his full support. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to come due to some royal business but he sent Prince Samael in his place." Alpha spoke with a smirk on his face.
Alpha Vasiliev watched as the young prince watched Eva like a hawk. He eyes never strayed from her from the moment she walked in. As a matter of fact as soon as the prince arrived he requested to see Eva.
Apparently the King requested that Prince Samael accompanied Eva the entire time until the war with the Werewolf King was over.

"Of course, Thank you for your help your Royal Highness." Eva spoke as she slightly bowed once again.
"Please, there is no need for formalities Miss Stone. Feel free to call me Sam." Prince Samael spoke as his hand instinctively scratched the back of his neck.
"Then please feel free to call me Eva." Eva replied with a slight tint to her cheeks as well.
"Of course Miss Stone... Eva! Of course Eva" The prince stuttered as he corrected himself.
Alexandrov watched the weird and slightly awkward conversation between the two vampires. He wasn't sure what he should do. Interrupt them or just continue watching? He looked to see the third Vampire in the room suppressing a smirk.
Thankfully there was no need to interrupt thanks to his daughter Alana.
Alana barged into his office with a smile on her face and a half eaten sandwich in her hand.
"Eva! You promised to go running with me!" Alana yelled as she ignored everyone in the room.
"Oh I'm sorry am I interrupting anything?" Alana questioned as she looked around the room.
"The Prince and his right hand man just arrived with a team to help support us against the Werewolf King." Alexandrov spoke in an Alpha tone.
Alana greeted everyone with a smile and a bow before having to drag Eva out of the room.
Alexandrov watched as the Prince simply watched Alana drag Eva away. It was as if he was smitten. He didn't react at all. It somewhat concerned the Alpha.
"Correct me if I'm wrong Prince Samael but your father sent you here to guard Eva at all times correct?"
As the Alpha spoke Sam was knocked back into reality.
"Yes, that is my one goal while I'm here. Also, Calvin will be guarding Soon to be Alpha Alana." Sam smiled as he looked at Alexandrov.
"You guys do realize both of the people you guys are supposed to be protecting have left the building by now right?" Alexandrov spoke with a smirk.
At his words Prince Samael froze. He quickly excused himself and ran out of the room with Calvin on his heels.
"They must be in love." Alpha Alexandrov chuckled as he continued with his paperwork.
How had they forgotten their mission as soon as they arrived? Something must be going on in their heads.
In The Woods
"Eva!" Sam yelled out looking for his beauty.
He couldn't understand what was going on with him but he sure didn't mind the spell she placed him under. He had never felt like this before. All he knew was that she wasn't his Beloved. His Beloved had died years ago. Then again why was she so special to him?
"Sam?" Eva yelled out in question. Was he looking for her? Why? Did something happen?
At the sound of her harmonious voice, Prince Samael was able to find her. As he ran to catch up to where the girls were Calvin stayed close behind.
As the sound of footsteps, Eva could tell that he had arrived at her location.
"Did something happen?" Eva questioned in a worried tone.
"No, actually the King said that we would help on the condition that Calvin and I stayed by Alana and Your side at all times, at least until the war is over" The prince spoke with a smile.

"Oh okay." Eva smiled at the sound of being with the Prince 24/7.
"That's a rather odd condition." Alana interjected.
"A Prince as a bodyguard to a Beta Female? Aren't royals the ones to have guards?" Alana questioned.
"Yes, well... I am currently not in danger but Eva is thanks to the Mutt. So my father found it fitting since I am one of the stronger Vampires." Sam chuckled as he tried to explain why he had to be with Eva every minute of every day.
Although Sam knew the King had made no such condition no one else knew. Technically they were there to help protect Eva, so technically he wasn't lying.
"I see." Alana mumbled not completely convinced of what the Prince said.
"Well, Prince Samael and Calvin, I hope you guys can keep up." Alana spoke as a mischievous smirk formed on her face.
Calvin and Sam looked at each other before shooting Alana a look of confusion.
"I'm sure we can keep up with you." Calvin smirked.
Alana chuckled at his words.
"Oh, I know you can. I was talking about keeping up with Eva."
At those words ,Eva took off running. Causing a slight breeze and making the leaves on the trees sway.
Calvin and Prince Sam were dumbfounded. According to the Vampires, Prince Samael and Calvin were some of the fastest Vampires, but they had never seen someone take off so quickly.
As both men watched in astonishment as the cloud of dust settled Alana took off as well at roughly the same speed.
Both men were left behind. Watching in shock as the females took off so quickly.
"I just got hard." Calvin whispered as he watched Alana run.
"Don't be disgusting Cal." Sam reprimanded and he took a deep breath and started to jog after them.
Calvin laughed and quickly joined the Prince as they tried to pinpoint where the ladies were.
It wasn't until 20 minutes later when the guys were finally able to catch up to Alana.
"What took you so long?" Alana laughed as she watched both men struggle to keep up.
"What are you guys Energizer bunnies?!" Calvin yelled out in shock as he tried to take small breaths to keep from fainting.
Calvin was considered one of the fastest Vampires and yet he had only been able to catch up to Alana. His feet pounded in pain. His thighs yelled in anguish and he was pretty sure he had left his lungs somewhere in the forest.
Did they run like this every day? These women were monsters.
Calvin started to believe that them being there was not for protection but merely to be belittled by these ladies.
Alana laughed and that slightly lightened Calvin's mood. It had been a while since he had heard someone laugh like that. He sorta liked it.
Prince Samael wasn't on the verge of a breakdown like Calvin. Although he was tired he was more concerned with Eva's whereabouts.
"Is Eva close by?" Same called out as they all kept running.
"Yeah! She's about a mile in front of us!" Alana called out with a chuckle.
Alana took a deep breath and shifted into her wolf effectively ripping her clothes to shreds.
Once in her wolf form Alana picked up her pace once again leaving the men behind.
"Of course she can go faster." Calvin grumbled as he continued to take shallow breaths.
"That is so cheating." Calvin complained and he once again had to pick up his pace along with Sam.
After another 30 minutes, they had finally caught up to Alana and Eva.
Prince Samael watched in Awe as Eva dodged and wove through the forest. At this specific moment, no one could tell that she was blind and was simply running on instinct. She was one with nature which was kind of breathtaking to watch.
After a while, Eva and Alana started to slow down.
Calvin thanked all the Gods in the world. Even if he didn't believe in them at this moment in time he thanked each and every one. Someone had heard his prayers.
Soon they came to a slight jog and after a few minutes, they finally stopped. They were once again in front of the Pack House.
Calvin tried to breathe. He tried to get as much air into his lungs as possible. The muscles in his legs were trembling and if it wasn't for Sam he would have toppled over.
Alana quickly went behind a tree to change. When she came back she was drenched in sweat.
Eva, however, wasn't sweating at all. She wasn't even breathing heavy. She was simply standing in her place stretching her muscles.
Calvin was pretty much convinced she was either a mutant of Professor X or had been given superpowers. There was no way someone like her could run like that and not get tired.
"That was refreshing." Eva smiled as she stood up straight and lightly bounced on the balls of her feet.
"Are you training to become a marine?" Calvin accused as Sam helped him sit on a log.
"I almost died back there." Calvin complained as he placed a hand on his chest.
Alana and Eva chuckled.
"That wasn't so bad. You should see when Daddy and Eva race. They turn into blurry figures." Alana chuckled at the memory of the race between her father and her best friend.
"I must say, Eva that was quite some impressive running." Sam complimented as he smiled at her.
Eva blushed.
"Th-Thank you. Since I grew up in the pack I know these woods like the back of my hand." She slightly stuttered and blushed.
"Well, I think we have done enough for today. Let's head inside and freshen up for dinner."
Calvin perked up at the word dinner. It was his favorite hobby... Eating.
"Alright!" Calvin cheered as he jumped up from the log. His tiredness was forgotten.
Eva, Alana, and Sam chuckled and headed inside. They hadn't noticed but they had been running for two hours.

Rooms of the Desolate
Rooms of the Desolate is a collection of short stories designed to guide the reader through the many rooms and mysteries of the bleak and greyscale labyrinth of the Desolate. The first entry, "The Forever Tower" follows an unnamed wanderer climbing an endless, colourless tower; the only world they have ever known. As they slowly ascend alongside the masses, they consider the nature of their world and look to the corridors as temptation beckons. The second entry, "Production Line", follows an engineer in a boundless factory, who encounters a product that does not wish to bow to the overseers and makes them question their belief in the truth and duties they were made to believe. Content guidelines: Current entries do not include explicit profanity, but future entries may do so, hence the presence of that tag. Some entries do include gore and violence, though not currently to particularly extreme degrees. The Desolate is exactly that: a desolate world; as such, it is bleak, downtrodden, and may deal with mental struggles. Cover art credit: Adam Borkowski on Pexels.
