《My Blind Princess》Chapter 2

Eva couldn't stop shaking her leg as she sat in the airplane seat. Alana's annoyance grew with every waking second.
"Would you please stop that?!" Alana growled out after not being able to ignore it any longer.
"I'm sorry, it's just I'm so excited!" Eva all but yelled in glee.
"We are going to be landing in 30 minutes" Eva smiled.
Alana was in no mood to be happy. She had been awake for what felt like days when in reality was only around two hours. Alana was not by any means necessary a morning person. She wasn't one to stay awake at night either.
"Come on Alana, aren't you excited?"
"No, not even a little bit."
"You know you are not a morning person at all. You are so grumpy today." Eva commented as Alana rolled her eyes knowing her best friend couldn't see her.
"I'm not a morning person or a night person. There are a few minutes in the afternoon where I'm a decent person and that's about it." Alana stated gruffly.
Eva chuckled at Alana's statement. She laughed at what her best friend said because it was true. At night time if Alana stayed up too late she would become very sarcastic and in the mornings where she had to wake up early, she was very rude. Either way, Alana was not a very happy person in the mornings or at night.
"You know usually you would be reading a book right now" Antonio spoke as he sat across from them.
The Pack had a private Jet that they used for emergencies and international meetings. The Jet wasn't too big.
There were four seats on the jet facing each other with a small table in between. On one side was a sofa that could accommodate around three to four people. Towards the back of the plane were a couple of things like a room with a large bed, a bathroom, and a small space that had a coffee machine and a small microwave.
The only reason Alana was not laying on the bed was for the simple fact that if she fell asleep again she would only wake up in a worse mood. That and her father had called dibs on the bed. He was currently snoring.
"I found a good book this morning but unfortunately it's not in braille. Mother read me the title and I'm very intrigued by it. But in my rush to get here I left it on the library table." Eva sighed out in disappointment.

"What was the title?"
"Vampires and Their Beloveds"
"I'm not Author but I'm pretty sure the book is based on Vampires and their beloveds." Alana snickered out.
"Why do you insist on ruining things with your words?" Eva questioned in annoyance. If she knew how she would roll her eyes at her best friend. Not that it really mattered anyway.
"I'll see if I can find you a braille copy when we land." Eva's father spoke as he smiled at the interaction between best friends.
The women reminded him of Alexandrov and himself when they were younger.
"Thanks, Dad"
"I wouldn't bother, I've read it and it's boring" Alana sighed out as she shook her head at her the Beta.
Antonio simply shot Alana a confused look but refrained from speaking any more.
Eva tried to relax back into her seat but unfortunately, she couldn't. The more time passed the closer they were to landing. Eva couldn't wait to discover this new place. Although she knew she would never see what it looked like she would at least be able to fill her senses with something new.
Alana looked out the window into the baby blue sky. It was a beautiful sight. It made you feel like you could fly. If only Eva could see. She would be able to enjoy life the way it was intended.
Earlier when Eva spoke of the book she had discovered Alana tried to rid Eva of thoughts on that book. Alana read that book in high school and knew what it was about. The perks of Vampires and their soulmates, or beloveds as they say.
The book said that if a Vampire suffered from a Disability in any way if they found their Beloved and their Beloved accepted them then the disabled vampire would be able to regain full health during the first bleed.
All Alana had to do was figure out what the hell the first bleed was and how to get Eva a vampire soulmate.
Alana wanted to do this for her best friend. She wanted Eva to be able to see. If Eva had a pureblood Beloved out there he could save her. As long as he accepted her she would regain her eyesight.
The ding of the seatbelt light informed everyone that the captain was about to land the plane. Everyone buckled into their seat belts. Alana made sure Eva was buckled in correctly and smiled as her best friend.

It pained Alana that Eva would never see how beautiful she was. The way her brown hair framed her heart-shaped face. Or the way her green eyes contrasted against her pale skin.
All Alana wanted was to make Eva happy and she knew that if Eva were able to see. Then Eva would be the happiest person in the world.
"Excited?" Alana questioned as she watched Eva turn her head from side to side to listen to the outside world.
"The noise of the plane makes it hard for me to hear anything but I am so happy I finally got to come." Eva smiled out.
"Good. Remember that when we actually go to the meeting and all of the guys at hitting on you and driving you crazy." Alana chuckled.
The growl that eliminated from Antonio made Eva laugh. He clearly did not appreciate the reminder that Eva would be in a room with countless inmates wolves. Although it was unheard of that a werewolf was mated to a Vampire it was not impossible. Antonio simply prayed that Eva did not end up mated to an Alpha that demanded she move to his pack. He was NOT going to let his baby girl go anywhere.
The turbulence of the plane pulled everyone from their thoughts. Eva held onto her armrest as she felt her whole body shake with the plane. He heartbeat was rising as she had never been in this kind of situation. She didn't want to admit it but it kind of scared her.
Alana placed her had on Eva's to try and comfort her best friend.
"Relax, it's almost over." She whispered to Eva.
Eva took a deep breath and tried to relax. The turbulence finally stopped and Eva exhaled.
The plane landed and everyone was now calm on the plane. Eva unbuckled her seat belt and stretched as she stood from her chair. She had been sitting so long that her legs felt like jello.
Alana stood up as well and helped Eva out of the plane. When they finally touched the ground Eva took in a deep breath. The smell of woods and pine filled her senses.
"Are we close to a forest?" Eva questioned as she continued to hone her senses to her surroundings.
"Yeah, we have landed close to the forest that surrounds the werewolf castle," Alana commented as she placed a pair of sunglasses over he eyes.
Alana watched as the guards from the castle came and helped them unload their bags. The guards greeted the Alpha and Beta. Some ever greeted her but what she couldn't understand was why no one was greeting Eva.
"Hope you had a nice flight" A man spoke out as he walked out of the woods and onto the landing strip.
"My name is Martin Cole. I am the prince of this kingdom." The man smiled as he shot out his hand at Alexandrov.
Eva froze at the sound of the voice. It was deep and somewhat comforting. The smell, however, was what made her stop in her tracks. He smelled like leaves and pine. It was quite nice.
Something inside Eva wanted to reach out and touch the person that was eliminating that strong smell. However, before she could Alana weaved her arm through Eva's and held her back.
Eva's attention was once again on her best friend but she couldn't stop the smell from filling her senses.
"Good Morning Prince Cole, this here is my Beta Antonio, My daughter Alana, and My Beta's daughter Eva," Alexandros spoke as he held out his hand to the prince.
The prince looked at each person and gave a simple nod. That was until he looked at Eva. She was the most beautiful creature he had ever seen. She smelled so sweet. It was mesmerizing.
He couldn't help but notice the fact that she had yet to look into his eyes!
"I apologize, she is blind" Antonio spoke up as he took a step in front of his daughter in a protective stance.
The prince simply nodded and tried to keep his mind off of the woman that intrigued him so much. He didn't miss the fact that his wolf was going crazy. She was his mate but she was also a Vampire. A Blind vampire. It was as if something in him switched off. The moon Goddess had given him a defective mate.

Fall of a Civilization - Modern Apocalypse
Today was an ordinary day. The same day as every day. The start of a monotonous day for some while being an exciting one for others. Today was supposed to be the latter for me. My first day in an abroad country, coming here for my studies. But everything changed when the world started spewing monstrosities, abhorrent creatures, and powers. This is the story following Rudy, who gets trapped in a foreign country when the world decided to metaphorically flip its table. If the [horror] tag didn't already tell you, this story tries to give more focus to the monsters than other Litrpg's and also intends to have a much more serious tone. My writing may be sub-par as I am a starting writer, but I promise to strive and improve as I keep writing along with your feedback and response. Updates will be at every 3 days.

Edge Cases (Book 1 Complete!)
Rare classes and powerful skills are helpful. Too bad the system doesn't seem built to handle them. What even are all these errors? Our team of outcasts and adventurers will have to rely on their trust - and the bane of all stories, healthy communication - just to survive, let alone understand what the system is doing. Because they're quickly realizing that it's doing something; to people, to monsters, and maybe even to the gods themselves. And their goal isn't just to survive; it's to make things better. It's a good thing they're not doing it alone. --- Edge Cases is an attempt to take the LitRPG genre and the overpowered MCs trope and write a story where numbers aren't everything. Sometimes it takes trust, support, and just a touch of being very, very clever. Expect a mix of action, slice-of-life, friendship, and ominous worldbuilding. Updates M-W-F at 6pm EST. Cover art by Alovck of Artstation, and typesetting by jessessey right here on RoyalRoad.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
