Aletheia sat on the desk chair but a busy bee sat beneath her. Jaren kept his arms around her as she held the mouse and keyboard in her grasp. He wore the headphones but she played. A little practice had been needed but a few secrets helped Aletheia play a little bit better than she would have otherwise. Still, Aletheia could hear everything that Jaren could.
"Fuck you Smii7y. What I ever do to you? You prick." Craig shouted as he fell off the map and gave up. His last stroke had been lost. Aletheia then got the ball into the hole and smiled.
"Hey, Smii7y so we are all flying out around the time it takes for us to get to Tyler's for about twelve. What time are you flying to be with us?" Jaren stayed silent whilst working it out.
"Eight is when the flight will be in the air as long as nothing goes wrong," Craig swore as he was hit off again. Kryoz wasn't being as kind as some but neither was Aletheia. The two worked well together.
"I was distracting you. What the actual holy fuck?" Anthony laughed as soon as he got the ball into the hole. Beating Craig easily with a massive advantage of not being cucked by the two.
"Shut up Anthony. You don't have two pieces of shit hitting you all the time. This is like I have gone back home. I am just kidding. Mum, dad. I love you and I know you would never do that." Mini got progressively louder as he got closer but when he saw that John had scored he almost screamed from a feeling of elation.
Just as he was about to get into the hole a ball with a propeller hat on shot him back to the very start. A shout and a scream were heard and it only got worse when John had opened his mouth.
"Smii7y got it in as well. Ah." Craig was on the brink of having a mental breakdown for all to see. Wheezing at the reaction was then heard as Anthony also hit his desk loudly to show how badly he was laughing.

Aletheia shrugged and the arms that had been wrapped around her stomach got a lot tighter for a second as they held on close to one another. Rather rapidly though the happy atmosphere dropped as Aletheia's work phone went off. It was part of the deal with her getting time off and so she would have to work the case.
It wasn't until she had changed that Jaren saw her again. She waved the keys at him to show that the pair would be left alone. In a silent move, Aletheia ducked by him and left a kiss on his lips. Jaren tried to whisper a goodbye but they had heard.
"The fuck are you going? That was so quiet I think you may have already left but you are too loyal to do that. But I mean you did say that you loved us so that's aight. Did you give me an air kiss? I heard an air kiss." Jay shouted and still the speakers were on so Aletheia laughed at his words.
"I was saying goodbye to the person in my current room brother. They are leaving and I am staying here." No amount of time had let Aletheia get used to the group of adults.
When Aletheia had returned she unlocked the front door to Smii7y's flat and a face with furrowed eyebrows and tight lips met the space. She hadn't locked the door but perhaps he was out. The lights were all on and then a faint sound left the study. Shouts could be heard and Aletheia laughed as she realised that he was playing a game that had him far too scared. All lights on and the volume not as loud.
Slowly, Aletheia walked through the door that was already open and crept up to him and in the bright lights he couldn't even tell she had returned. The earphones cancelled the noises she made as she returned. A loud and high pitched scream left as Aletheia laid her hands on his shoulders and she also grunted. All of the others in the game also shouted and screamed as the jump got them.

"Fuck you," Jaren shouted and Aletheia had dropped to her knees in pure joy. Her face a shade of red that matched a tomato. Clearly, Jaren wasn't too entertained but when he saw her crying on the floor in joy and the long hair spread all around her as she was almost rolling around, he calmed down a bit.
"Fuck me," Aletheia shouted and Jaren had stood. Picked her up and the headphones had fallen to the floor after dropping onto the edge of the desk. He kissed her on the lips for a second before giving her a look of 'the hell?' and all Aletheia could do was get to a level point on her feet and push him to the edge of his seat and down. Then she had climbed onto his lap and sat sideways. His arms wrapped around her body to reach the keyboard. Aletheia put the headphones on and looked like a puppy as she looked at his eyes.
"Smii7y? Are you alive? What happened to you?" Marcel laughed out as John asked the question. It was obvious that something had happened when the two were busy being all soppy. Both of them knew it was soppy as well but they didn't care.
"Yes, brother. I was jump scared by a little bitch." Aletheia elbowed him and he had to bite his lip to keep from making any sound because of it.
"Wow, Smii7y you sound super far away to me." Aletheia moved the mic so that it was considerably closer and Jaren began making the loudest noises he could muster. A screeching sound made Aletheia snap a little and Jaren could feel it and so he stopped.
"Have you just pushed a child from your clacker? No? Then shut the fuck up there is no excuse for your noise." Aletheia proudly announced and she even smacked his chest slightly.
"Dude. I would do what she just said. I have turned your volume right down." Jaren set about whispering and the other boys had to turn the volume up. Craig complaining the whole time about what Smii7y was doing. Aletheia got to her feet suddenly and then left the room. No words spoken as she placed the headphones on his head.
An hour later two large bags were packed and left at the door. Ready for them to be off in the morning and then Smii7y could play for as long as he wanted.
"All right? I will start packing now if you want to we can pack together or on our own at any point." Aletheia kicked a bag not far off her feet and smiled. She walked back to the study and emerging seconds later.
"Would you like to go to bed?" His question barely needed to be verbally answered as she walked up to him and wrapped her little arms around his neck after she had pulled him to brush their teeth. Jaren let his arms slip to her thighs and there he picked her up and carried her to bed.
"I need to get changed." She stated but as the bed was about to be left Jaren pushed her back and went to his clothes. Throwing out a top for her to wear. Not needing to be told twice the dress was removed and the top pulled on.
"Do you need to remove your makeup?" To his question, Aletheia just patted the bed at her side and Jaren changed quickly whilst turning off the light and climbing into bed.
"I took it off earlier. Thanks for pretending not to notice." Jaren pulled her closer and let a deep breath travelled down her neck and her back.
"I didn't. You look beautiful no matter what life throws at you." They held on close and even when the warmth grew the duvet was pulled off but they never pulled off of the other person.

Dominion Expansion (a 4X LitRPG)
Clay is one of the world's top players of 4X games, a genre where the goal is to eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate. He's also one of the only players in the world to so stubbornly stick to the one city strategy, a favorite tactic of his that involves only ever using a single city or planet depending on the game's setting. All that matters to him is winning with his favorite strategy, but earning the respect of his fellow players for taking a sub-optimal strategy to its highest level has always been a nice bonus. And now it is because of his skill and entertaining determination that he has been chosen to represent a higher realm in a strategy game where the fate of Earth and dozens of other worlds are at stake. To the victor goes the spoils, and the spoils include entire worlds and billions of lives. That's how he ends up representing the ascended realm of Hell in a grand "game" between an entire pantheon of godly beings and other higher powers. But while it may just be a game to those overseeing it, it is a genuine war for survival to those participating in it where billions of real lives will go to the victor of whoever wins, and many will die before the game is over. Quick Author's Notes: System inspired by Civilization, Endless Legend, Stellaris, and Crusader Kings 2. Combat mechanics inspired by the Total War series. Slow-paced with many long-term plans. Protagonist has a personality heavily inspired by Ron Swanson. Know who that is and love him? You should like Clay. Know who Ron Swanson is and hate him? You'll probably hate Clay. Planning on writing every single day (turn). Days with important things happening will have the system/game mechanics be the priority of the chapter. Days where there isn't really anything important happening will be more slice-of-life and focused on character interactions. Designed a dice-based randomized map generator to create the world as the story goes on, so I don't even know myself exactly what's going to happen as a lot is dependent on world generation. Tech tree with hundreds of technologies already designed. There is a "harem," but it's not the main focus, the girls won't be cardboard cutouts, and I'm not going to completely forget about any previous women in the relationship whenever a new one comes along. One last thing. The "game" starts off with primitive technology level. The current plan is for the "endgame" tech level to be equivilent to WW2-era technology. After that and war just gets boring until you end up in space. Cover is temporary and made from royalty-free stock images while waiting for the real cover's commission to finish.

Who Fixes Books Anyway?
On the pretense of a raise, the relatively new employee Pernie is called in to talk with her superiors. NOTE: This is a short story written for a class I took recently. As a result of deadlines, it does not possess the quality (or length) that I would like and is rather thrunkated. Perhaps sometime far in the furture I'll fix it up. For now, I have much more important things to work on, such as my other fiction.
