For every second the clock ticked, he grabbed his phone to see if there were any Instagram notifications; only to find some likes and comments, but not a message. It had been a little over an hour and Mami hadn't even read his first messages. Anthony became anxious all of the sudden, without really knowing why.
C'mon, it was just a simple chat for help. No big deal; he tried to convince himself that.
By then he decided to wait for the next day. She, at some point tomorrow, would be logged in to Instagram and read his abrupt messages. Hopefully.
Anthony's heart stopped, sort of. So she replied, the next day. She replied just about three hours ago and she remembered him. That was good, less awkward. And somehow he felt giddy all of the sudden.

Mami read. Mami definitely read that last chat but for some reason she just stopped replying. Anthony anxiously waited her, for any sign of her presence. Well, she could be doing something that needed to put down her phone for a little while. It was night at her time and she was at home anyway, perhaps preparing dinner, or washing dishes.
Or she read the message and decided that she didn't want to do it, already thinking that he just wasted her time. So she ignored him instead.
Or her phone died and she was looking for outlet to charge.
