《Turning Larissa (GirlxGirl)》Chapter Ten

"So, what do we do now?" Alice asked.

We had finally finished all the painting and wallpapering, and were sat on the floor in the living room, listening to the radio.

"The carpets are going down in the morning, and then the furniture will be delivered after. There's nothing else to do until then," Larissa replied. "Unless you want to help me organise the garage?"

Rob said something to Alice, but I couldn't hear what he said, as the music was too loud. She nodded and smiled shyly.

"We're actually gonna shoot," Rob said happily. "But I'm sure Ivy would love to help you."

Larissa looked at me hopefully, and I smiled. Of course, I wouldn't say no to her.

"I love organising garages," I said sarcastically.

"Thank you," she grinned. "Have fun, you two!"

Rob took Alice's hand, and led her out of the house, after we all said goodbye.

"To be honest, I don't think I want to be in my apartment for a little while anyway," I laughed.

"Yeah, those two have got a lot of pent up sexual frustration to get out," she replied.

"More fool them, we get to organise!" I said with over the top enthusiasm, throwing my fists into the air.

Larissa poked me in the side, causing my arm to jerk down, and making me elbow her in the face.

"Oh my God!" I yelled. "I'm so sorry, are you-"

"You elbowed me in the nose!"

"I am so sorry," I said.

She had her hands covering her nose, I pulled at her wrists so I could see her nose. It was bleeding. She pinched the bridge of her nose, and tilted her head forward to try and stop the bleeding. I looked in her eyes, and she smiled. I was so relieved she wasn't angry with me.

"It's not broken," she said, and stood up. I followed her into the kitchen, and got her some tissue.

"It's good that I elbowed you in the face before you got your new carpets."

She looked at me, and i could see she was trying not to laugh.

"I really am sorry," I laughed. "And I told you, you're cute when you're angry."

She smiled, and sat at the table. After a few minutes, she checked if the bleeding had stopped, and it had.

"How about we scrap the organising idea, and drink some wine?" She said, pulling a bottle of red wine out of the fridge.

"I thought I had a drinking problem?"

She laughed, and poured two glasses of wine.

I didn't drink wine very often, it always got me drunk too fast, so I tended to stay away from it. However, I would have drank anything Larissa put in front of me. It would be rude to say no to a goddess.

"So, when do I get to meet the boyfriend?" I asked after my first glass.

I'm aware of how much of an idiot I was for bringing him up. I didn't want to meet him, or even hear her talk about him, and I definitely didn't want her to start crying again. Drunk crying is always so much worse than regular crying.

"He should be moving here next Tuesday," she answered.

"Should be?"

Again, idiotic thing to ask.

"Well, he should have been coming on Thursday, but he delayed it again."

I could see that Larissa was a little tipsy, she was almost finished her second glass of wine, and she wasn't upset now. She was mad.

"Why would he delay it?" I asked. "If I knew you were waiting for me, I'd have been here the day you got here."

"You're sweet," she said, blushing at my compliment. "But he said he's got some things to sort out with work, before he moves here. He just keeps changing it all the time though, and I feel like he's lying to me."

"Why would he lie to you?"

She went to the fridge to take out another bottle of wine, and poured herself another glass. She filled my glass up to the rim, before she answered my question.

"I don't know, things have just been weird between us for the past few months. He's been... distant."

"He sounds like an asshole," I blurted out, and she chuckled.

"He didn't use to be," she said, after another large sip of wine. "I just hope things will get back to normal, when he finally moves here."

I decided it was time to catch up with Larissa's drinking, and finished my glass, then held it out to her for a refill.

"Why are you single, Ivy?" She asked, and I frowned at her question. "You're so nice, and funny, and beautiful. The girls must be lining up for you."

"I'm not exactly short of options," I said, hoping it didn't sound like I was bragging. "I just... I don't know, I guess I'm emotionally unavailable."

"I don't believe that for a second."

"I've never had a girlfriend, not officially anyway. I just haven't found the one yet," I replied, then realised how cheesy it sounded.

Larissa's eyes met mine, and I couldn't have looked away if I wanted to.

"Or maybe I have found her, and she's preoccupied with some asshole."

As soon as the words came out of my mouth, I wished I could have put them back. I braced myself for Larissa getting angry or freaking out by what I said, hoping that this wouldn't ruin our friendship. As much as I wanted to be more than friends, it was better than not seeing her at all.

Because I was drunk, it took me a minute to realise she wasn't angry. She wasn't freaking out, she was still staring into my eyes. We were sitting next to each other, and I was close enough to smell her shampoo. I didn't want to stop looking at her beautiful green eyes, but my eyes had a whole other idea. They flickered down to her lips, just for a second, then back up.

My heart raced as I made the decision to move closer to her. It seemed like everything was in slow motion, when in reality, it must have happened fast.

I moved my face to hers, bringing our lips close, and we were almost touching. I could feel her breath on my face.

"Ivy..."

Her voice seemed to put everything back to it's normal speed, and I quickly pulled back away from her. My heart was still racing, and I was dreading what she would say next.

"I have a boyfriend... and I'm not-"

"I know," I interrupted. "I'm sorry, I should go."

I stood up from the chair, and grabbed my hoodie on the way to the door. I heard her call after me as I shut the door, but I didn't want to turn around. I didn't know what to say to her.

"Ivy, you absolute moron, what the fuck is wrong with you?" I muttered to myself as I started to walk fast towards home.

Once I was out of sight of Larissa's house, I stopped, and took my cigarettes out of my pocket. I started to smoke while I decided where to go. It was late, but it was too early to go back home. I didn't want to ruin Rob and Alice's night. I decided to go to the bar where I had met Becky. Another drink might make me feel better.

It only took a few minutes to get to the bar, and I immediately took a seat on one of the bar stools.

A pretty, black haired barmaid appeared in front of me. She had her lower lip pierced, and she had a nice smile.

"What can I get you sweetie?" She asked, and I saw when she spoke, that she had her tongue pierced too.

"I'll have a jaeger bomb please. Two, if you want one," I replied. She smiled and poured two shots of jaegermeister, then added the red bull into a glass.

I knew it was a bad idea to keep drinking, as I was already drunk from the two glasses of wine. However, my drunken self was not too good at using her common sense, so i continued.

I tried not to think about Larissa. I would deal with her the next time I saw her, and hopefully she wouldn't completely hate me. At that moment in time, the only thing that mattered was the alcohol, so I did my best to soldier on and get as drunk as possible.
