ｃｈａｐｔｅｒ ｔｈｉｒｔｙ－ｆｏｕｒ

The next morning Mikey sat beside his aunt with super curly hair and pretty eyes. She always seemed to dress nice, even in pajamas she was pretty. She was cooking breakfast and the smell was amazing; Mikey assumed it was french toast and grabbed the syrup from the table, ready for food. It was him and a few others at the table since all of the kids ate already. They ate around eight in the morning and it was ten now.

At the table the cousin close to Jasper nodded to him and waved his phone as a way to get Mikey to look at his own. Which he did and there was a text on there from the cousin.

Ur dating Jasper yea?

Why do you ask?

Cuz max told me you were dating someone and it's only plausible if it's Jasper. I remember you two at thanksgiving

Groaning at the same telling message and stood from the table. He held up his pointer finger, signaling to hold on and stated, "I'm gonna be right back." Then he went to search for his little brother. The eight year old was sitting on the bed next to Noah and Mikey glared at him.

Max asked innocently, "what?"

"Stop telling people that I'm dating someone, Max. They're gonna tell Nanny and she's smart and will be the world's biggest cockblock for me." Mikey groaned at the realization and dragged a hand down his face.

"You don't want them to know you're dating someone?"

"No, I just said that. I don't care if you guys know because I know you'll keep it from Nanny, but these people probably won't." Mikey growled, "I will kick your ass if she finds out because of you."

Max waved him off, but asked, "what's a cockblock?"

Mikey grumbled the answer: "I can't do anything with Jasper," while he walked out of the room, heading back to the kitchen. He had a plate of French toast waiting for him and he cut into it. He took his anger and frustration out while chewing and tried calming down. Yet, every time someone walked in the room he thought it'd be his grandmother and she would rip him a new ass and start the hovering.

It seemed like the house accumulated more people when it came closer to opening presents. Mikey stuck to his brothers and grandmother and texted Jasper from time to time when he was able to while he was working for the businessman. Then, the door kept opening and other people walked in that Mikey assumed was the relatives of his uncle who married into the Balm family.

Marlene commented on some of the people, quietly commenting their outfits, the wrapping paper they used, or how they did their hair. Some walked over to her and hugged her and she returned them tightly.

At one point his phone vibrated in his pocket and he saw a notification of a Snapchat from Jasper. Cluelessly, he tapped it open and his eyes widened. He did not expect what was sent and he received a smack on his head from Aiden. Mikey got rid of the picture, but stayed on the app.

"You are sitting next to Max, Mikey. Stop being horny."

Mikey gasped, then scoffed, "I didn't ask for Jasper to send that! But if anyone asks I'm in the bathroom."

"Michael."

"It's not what you think, I'm gonna yell at him."

He left Aiden's knowing stare and entered the bathroom, locking the door. He replayed the snap and let out a low whistle. The image was of Jasper's bare upper body and his sweats hanging low. He'd typed, let me know when you get home, and Mikey appreciated the image. But he got rid of it with a screenshot and went to call his boyfriend.

Jasper answered quickly with a laugh.

"Jasper Kirk, I am around little kids!"

His boyfriend continued to laugh and stumbled to say, "you're the one who should know."

"I didn't think you'd send something when I'm here. But, I can ask my grandmother. Also, Max has been running his mouth about us dating, well not specifically you, just saying I'm dating someone. I swear to God if my grandmother finds out I will punt him out of my window."

Asking, "what's so bad about your grandmother knowing?" Jasper's voice dropped the teasing tone and was serious. Mikey sat on the closed toilet lid and breathed out heavily.

He admitted, "it's just that when she finds out I cannot do anything with you. She'll always want to door open, hover when we are in the same room, and be annoying. I like being able to do stuff."

Jasper hummed and Mikey felt like he'd hurt his feelings. He tried to apologize, but Jasper told him, "I don't care, just find out when you all are leaving and come over then."

They hung up and Mikey went straight to his grandmother to ask the question. She gave a vague answer and he was stuck with not knowing until they'd leave. Aiden laughed at his brother and Mikey flipped him off.
