《Growing Attached To My Competition ✔️》Chapter 69 - Winter Break

The weekend was quickly over as the last game of the season was about to start. With winter break starting soon, and midterms were almost done and dealt with, the Ravens and the Eagles were having one last rival match before the end of the year.

With it being the first big game with his new teammate, Brody went to talk to Elliot and make sure he was hyped up for the game. It was also the first time they've seen each other since the night out at The Highway, and Brody wanted a catch up with his new friend.

"Hey, what happened to your head?" It was the first thing Brody had noticed when he walked over, still clueless about the whole night.

"Oh, this thing?" Elliot pointed to the small bandage on his head and laugh, "Mostly a surface wound, should be healed properly in a few days time."

Brody sat down by Elliot as he started to put his chest piece on. "Shouldn't you sit out for today then? You don't want to risk another head injury."

Elliot tapped the helmet that was besides him, knocking it and hearing the loud sound come from it. "That's why the helmet will protect my head."

As they laughed it off together, Adrian walked in to see the man he loved talk to the man he despised.

"Brody can I talk to you? It's kind of important." Adrian asked, deliberately ignoring the person sitting next to him.

"Wanted another round of smack talk?" Brody joked. "Didn't do enough goading last night?"

Adrian didn't end up telling Brody about the club incident because he though that Elliot had already learnt his lesson - to stay away from him. Elliot didn't seem to tell anyone else either about him being hit with a bottle, so Adrian thought that the both of them would want to keep it quiet.

But walking in to see them still friendly as ever, Adrian wanted to stop the parasite from infesting in his life.

"Please?" Adrian begged.

The change in Adrian's usual playful tone sparked something inside of Brody, knowing that it must be about something important.

"We have a couple of minutes now, you want-"

"Ah shit!" Elliot cursed, holding his head in pain.

Brody turned to look at Elliot and address the pain he was in. "Elliot? What's wrong?"

"I think it was just a twinge, could you get me another bandage before it seeps through Brody?"

Looking nervously at his injured teammate, Brody agreed as he stood up to help Elliot. Whispering into Adrian's ear before he left, "Can we talk later?"

Brody had already left to run Elliot's errands, leaving Adrian to look at the smirk on Elliot's face.

Elliot smiled as he offered to lend his ears to the irritated guy that was staring back at him. "You can talk to me if you like?"

"It's about you, you dipshit."

Elliot looked Adrian up and down with fire burning in his eyes. "God, I love it when you talk to me like that. Such a filthy, filthy mouth - Brody is such a lucky guy."

"Creep." Adrian muttered with disgust.

No longer playing mind games with Adrian, "You can't seriously think it's a good idea to tell your boyfriend about what we did at the back of the club."

"Stop making everything sound so dirty and wrong! You were harassing me, again!" Adrian yelled.

Ignoring the confused looks people were giving them, Elliot dismissed them since he was sure they didn't hear anything properly. He pulled Adrian down and forced him to sit besides him.

"And you smashed my head open with a bottle, what'd I do to deserve that?" Elliot whispered shamelessly.

With a deadpanned expression, Adrian was taken back by Elliot's brazen attitude. "Groping me and whispering sexual stuff to me when I didn't want it, or want you. And you've been doing it since the Halloween party!" Adrian added.

"I didn't think much about it at first, but then I thought that a stranger touching me like you did when I was almost naked, it was extremely inappropriate of you."

"You've never had anyone flirt with you?" Elliot laughed as if Adrian was the crazy one. "If it was a problem then you would have told someone. But you didn't, because you secretly enjoy the attention."

Adrian wanted to grab Elliot's hockey stick and beat him with it, but Brody had came back with the bandage in his hands.

Looking at them both, with the tension between them, Brody asked. "Everything okay?"

"We're fine," Elliot lied, with a smile on his face as he spoke on Adrian's behalf. "Coach Sheen is looking for you by the way Brody, said it's important."

With Brody easily dismissed, Elliot whispered the next thing to Adrian. "Look, if I can get over everything that happened on Saturday, then so can you."

"Why should I?" Adrian exclaimed, not wanting to drop any of it.

"Because!" Elliot viscously whispered as he grabbed Adrian by the collar of his shirt, brining him in closer to show his seriousness. "If you go around and spread malicious rumours about me, then I will have you arrested for violently attacking me, unprovoked."

Snatching his hands away from him, Adrian whispered back, just as harsh. "It was self-defence, and we both know it!"

Elliot ridiculed the idea since he believed he wasn't in the wrong. "Fuck off with your bullshit, no one will believe it with no cameras around. And it makes no sense as well, with you saying this 'harassment' has been happening for weeks, when you didn't even tell a soul."

Adrian immediately looked at Brody who was across the room, thinking about why he didn't just tell him about everything since the elevator. There was no point in thinking he could handle the whole situation, because it was still ongoing, and it wasn't being handled well anymore.

"You want to go to war with me? I can make you lose everything that you love. Your place on the team? Gone. Your friends? They will be my friends. And Brody? Well while you're more my type, I will just settle for him instead of you."

Adrian nervously gulped at hearing he may lose the things most precious to him.

"But the point is that people will just say you're making it up, that you were cheating on your boyfriend by leading us both on. Because you're an attention seeking whore, that has just been asking for it."

Lots of scenarios popped into Adrian's mind, about what would happen next and how he would explain everything. But he never thought he would win any of it.

Elliot was a more creditable person than he was, Elliot was smarter, more likeable to most people, and he didn't have a violent feud with his rival team. Why wouldn't anyone believe Elliot?

People could say Adrian was playing the field since Brody was his first ever relationship. And with them being young it wouldn't be so far fetched for others to believe that nonsense.

Elliot grabbed Adrian by the chin and forced him to look at the bandage on his head. "This, is the only proof either of us have. No one will know about our shameless flirting, because they will see how you attacked me, and only that."

Elliot let go off his hold on Adrian's face, before gently caressing the reddened area he created with his grip. "This can stay between us babe, I know you like the fun of this game."

With no one looking at them, Elliot kissed his own fingers and then placed it onto Adrian's cheek before he left him alone.

'No one will believe my will they? It's just my word against his, except he's got the injury to prove that I attacked him. It's just further proof that I'm the bad guy in all of this, for causing a head injury and making me look like I was in the wrong.'

A few hours later and the game ended with the Craftswood Ravens winning the game by just a tiny margin. Adrian may have scored the winning goal again, but he still felt defeated.

All of his teammates came into the locker room, roaring as they celebrated beating their rivals. Adrian dragged his hockey stick along the floor, worried that it was the last time he could play with his team if he raised his allegations about Elliot to anyone.

Not far behind them in the locker room, the Eagles showed sportsmanship as they greeted everyone on the Ravens, congratulating them on their victory.

When Adrian looked up to see Elliot in front of him, he was reminded about something that happened on the ice not long ago.

"You deliberately crashed into me back then, didn't you? I didn't even have the puck..."

Elliot laughed before he leaned in to whisper to Adrian. "I just wanted to see how it would feel with me on top of you."

Seeing the smug bastard wink and walk away was a momentarily relief for Adrian. When Brody came up next to him, Brody didn't understand why Adrian was so down after his win.

"Hey babe, shouldn't you be doing celebratory laps for being MVP?" Brody laughed.

'Tell him about Elliot, this can't keep going any longer. Tell him, because you love him and he should know. Tell him, because he loves you and he will believe you.' Adrian repeated over and over again in his head.

Adrian suppressed his thoughts as he hid his doubts with a smile on his face, "Just waiting for you to see it."

Brody placed a sweet kiss onto Adrian's lips, but Adrian made it last longer by making sure Brody wasn't pulling back too soon, holding his head and not wanting to let go.

Finally releasing his hold on Brody, Adrian got butterflies by seeing the smile that was plastered on Brody's face. Brody complimented his boyfriend's skills on the ice as he truly meant it. "You were amazing tonight Adrian."

"Told you we would win." Adrian boasted as he nudged his shoulder against Brody. "And don't forget about the little wager we made last night."

Nodding along at their late night wager, "Don't worry, I haven't forgotten. Only this time it will be you moaning my name, instead of the other way around." Brody winked, as his ears rang with Adrian's laughter.

~~~~~~~~~~~
The next night Brody was sitting with Adrian in his room, books open on the desk. Brody had finished his exams earlier this same day, but he wasn't ready to celebrate until Adrian was done with his midterm exams too.
So Brody came round to make sure Adrian was ready his exam tomorrow, to help him with last minute revision. At least that was what was suppose to happen, as Brody now had Adrian under him, placing kisses along Adrian's neck.
Adrian had eagerly tossed his shirt off, and was beginning to work on Brody's shirt, until Brody kept kissing the same sensitive area on his neck.
The momentary source of pleasure made Adrian stop playing with Brody's shirt and pull Brody deeper into his neck, craving more from his boyfriend.
The eagerness from Adrian made Brody chuckle, giving his boyfriend what he wanted as more gentle and delicate kisses were covering his neck.
"Adrian, how's it go- Oh my god!"
Sally had the clear image of her son shirtless in his bed, with his boyfriend giving him a very visible hickey. Not needing the image to burn into her brain, she looked away as she yelled at the pair.
Adrian grabbed the nearest pillow and covered his groin area, trying to hide how happy he was.
"Brody you were meant to be helping my son revise, not distract him."
Brody could only laugh it off as he then got off Adrian. He then threw Adrian's shirt to him, covering his exposed torso. "Sorry."
Sally had already left by the time Adrian put his clothes back on. With Brody's help, an embarrassed and blushing Adrian dragged himself onto the chair and looked at his books again.
"This is so boring." Adrian moaned with sadness.
Brody laughed at how poor Adrian's attention span was. "It's been 10 seconds! Come on, when you finish tomorrow then we can all go out and celebrate together."
Intrigued and excited, Adrian was like a young puppy with a new toy. "Oooooo tell me!"
"Not until you spend another 20 minutes on case studies."
Adrian leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss onto Brody's lips after every word. "Tell. Me. Tell. Me. Tell. Me."
The last kiss was longer as Brody wrapped his arms around Adrian's neck, giving in so that Adrian could go back to revising.
"Well it won't be until the day after your exam, technically, but we thought about spending the day at the seaside. We could hangout on the beach together and even go for a little swim in the ocean."
"Awesome!" Adrian cheered with excitement.
"And I get to rub sunscreen everywhere on you." Brody suggestively whispered as he grinned with mischievous.
Adrian laughed a little at how excited Brody was about the sunscreen. "That last bit definitely sealed the deal for me."
"Just the 4 of us. Then we could even get some fish and chips too, and just make a great day out of it." Brody explained.
Kissing him one last time, Adrian was looking forward to the day out planned for celebrating finishing their midterm exams.
With a goal set in his mind, Adrian soon went back to revising with Brody's help, determined to not screw up his education - just for another hickey that he liked having.
Author's Note: Sorry that this chapter seems kind of rushed, and the chapter halves don't really mesh together?
I was originally going to put both halves of this chapter as separate ones. But I didn't think they needed their own chapter anymore, yet I thought it was still relevant to the story so I wanted to include them still.
