Author's note: This chapter was originally written on the spot so I didn't have any notes for it when I had to rewrite this deleted chapter.

So I tried to use my memory to bridge the gap in between the chapters. Sorry if it seems a little rushed.

Adam sat across the room from Adrian, tossing the grapes he had bought for him as he aimed it in Adrian's mouth. Dozens of green grapes were on the floor as the pair of best friends continued their antics.

Ashley walked in at the exact moment Adrian finally managed to catch one in his mouth. Adrian pumped his fist in the air as Adam celebrated. She then looked around Adrian's bed and saw the mess on the floor.

"You're cleaning this up." Ashley said as she laughed and nudged Adam's shoulder.

Ashley gave Adrian a gentle greeting hug before she dropped off a phone charger that Adrian asked for. "Thanks Ashley."

Ashley then took the empty seat next to him and looked around the room. "Brody and your mom not here?"

Adrian shook his head as he explained. "My mom had to sort some stuff out with Ollie." Adrian then tried to remember where Brody went after he had a nap since he was still exhausted from everything. "I'm not sure where Brody is, he said he would be here when I woke up but he was gone."

~~~~~~~~~~
Brody was on the other side of town as he was at Stonebrook Academy. Storming into the building, Brody searched everywhere until he finally made his way in to the final destination, which was the locker room.
Once he saw Caden was in the locker room, Brody ordered everyone out as they all stared back at the furious and unnerved Brody. Caden was also leaving when Brody stopped him with a forceful hand against his chest.
He grabbed Caden by the scruff of his shirt and shoved him straight into the lockers.
"What the fuck Brody?!" Caden yelled out loud.
Brody was breathing harshly as his grip on Caden became tighter. "You knew all about it, didn't you?!"
As the news quickly spread about Sam's attack on Adrian, Brody remembered how Adrian told him about Caden's cryptic warning during the night of the attack. He then deduced that Caden was involved in all of this at some capacity.
"What are you talking about?"
"Don't play dumb with me asshole!" Brody shoved Caden against the locker again, hearing the contents rattle inside the cage as his head bounced of the metal. "You are the one who gave Adrian some cryptic warning that scared him the same night he was attacked, you must have been involved in all of this mess!"
Caden knew that he was caught in the act, he had to defend himself as he believed he was innocent in all of this. Caden shook Brody's grip of his body and pushed him away, a respectable distance in between them.
"Look, Sam threatened me too. He said he could get me kicked out of the team, out of this school! There was no way that I was going to double cross the maniac so I had to look out for myself by not getting involved anymore. I didn't want to get sent down by your ex's vindictive, psycho act against your current moronic, weak little boyfriend that didn't know how to defend himself."
Brody's rage flared up as he instinctively punched Caden. "Don't talk about Adrian like that, ever!"
Caden accepted the hit since he knew Brody was an emotional and physical wreck right now. The guy looked completely exhausted and was barely thinking straight.
But that didn't stop Caden for laying more things out to Brody. "You're looking at other to blame, when you should be blaming yourself."
Brody froze when he heard Caden say that. Someone else was calling him out for the same things Brody had been thinking about. And it gave him chills knowing that he wasn't the only one that was thinking something similar.
"How can you pretend and stand there like you didn't know your ex was a complete psycho?! You were dating him for how long? Yet you didn't know he was completely deranged and unhinged?! I mean that guy has been making the team terrorise your boyfriend for ages, yet you simply rolled over like the pathetic excuse that you are."
Caden pushed Brody back by shoving his chest, making Brody step back as he took the hits, physical and verbal.
"It was clear as day that Sam was obsessed with you, yet you didn't do a good enough job to turn him away. What, did you want to have him as your little bit on the side when your current pathetic boyfriend was enough for you. I mean Jones isn't the smartest tool in the box, and he really is an arrogant and cocky son of a bitch. Were you waiting to get sick of that dumb puppy so you could crawl back to the desperate psychopath?!"
Brody was still left reeling as Caden pushed him back, again and again, forcing him down onto the bench as he was berated by the shadowing figure that was Caden.
"So before you go around and start blaming me, maybe you should take a closer look at why you couldn't protect your fucking pathetic boyfriend from all of this mess!"
Caden had stormed off after he grabbed his bags, leaving a devastated Brody to take it all in and process it.
Brody thought he should have tried harder to push Sam away, make it even more clear that he was never going to be interested in him again. If he did all of that then maybe Sam wouldn't have taken it out on Adrian and put him in hospital.
'It really is my fault.'
~~~~~~~~~~

While Adrian was on his phone, he glanced a look to see Ashley and Adam in a hushed whisper to each other, occasionally looking back at him like he was involved.

"Okay guys," Adrian put his phone down to give them their full attention. "You guys are clearly talking about me, what's happened?"

Ashley glanced a nervous look to an equally worried Adam. He nodded his head as he thought that Adrian should know.

Ashley's leg was shaking as she tried to work out how to tell Adrian. "It's about Brody. We can't contact him and we're getting really worried about him."

When Adrian looked at her all puzzled and confused, she further explained. "People saw him looking really pissed off in school earlier, like the most anyone has ever seen Brody mad - which is rare enough."

'It mush have been really bad.' Adrian thought to himself as he failed to capture memories of when Brody has even been truly angry.

"They were saying he forced everyone out of the locker room and was fighting Caden in there. It was really loud, and there was a lot of shouting. Holly said that when he left, Brody seemed completely defeated and mentally checked out."

Adrian's heart beat erratically after hearing that about Brody. He remained silent as he swallowed the block of air that was stuck in his throat, and picked up his phone.

He dialed Brody's number and listened out for the ringtone. But there was none, his phone wasn't working.

'Brody please talk to me.'

~~~~~~~~~~~
It was later in the evening and Adrian was trying to get some rest. But he couldn't with the thought of a MIA Brody storming around in his mind.
Adrian was worried about not knowing where his troubles boyfriend was. All of his current problems seemed to mean so little when Brody was out there somewhere, cut off from everyone and completely drained as a person.
Meanwhile just outside his room, Brody looked completely dejected as he had his head tucked between his knees, avoiding looking at anything but judging himself.
He had watched Ashley and Adam leave a couple of hours ago so he knew Adrian was alone his room. He wanted to go in there, but he couldn't face Adrian when he blamed himself for everything.
Brody's legs were bouncing madly with anxiety, he was frustratingly weaving his hand through his hair as he didn't dare to look at his vulnerable boyfriend in the hospital bed.
He was only out of his own mind when he heard Adrian hiss in pain from within his room. Brody instinctively looked up to see Adrian was grabbing his stomach, as if trying to relieve the pain that shocked him alert.
Brody walked through the door as he went to check on Adrian. When he did, Adrian reactively looked up and was relieved when he finally saw Brody in front of him.
"Brody." Adrian whispered while suffering with pain.
Brody was about to move closer but then stopped, not wanting to get closer in case he made things worse. "Do you want me to get a nurse?"
Adrian shook his head as he tried to withhold the pain. "No no, it's fine. It will go away in a second, just give me a minute."
Adrian put his other hand on top, trying to clamp down on the pain and subdue it away. Brody walked towards Adrian and covered his own hand on top, as if he could heal Adrian with his own hands.
Looking up at Brody, Adrian offered a small smile at the gesture. "Thanks."
Brody was silent as he averted Adrian's gaze. He then sat down and left his hand on top of Adrian's, staring at the ground and not being strong enough to look at Adrian without bursting with guilt and shame.
