~~~~~~~~~~
It was late at night and both Adrian and Brody were back in their hotel room. It wasn't long into the night before Adrian was straddling Brody's lap, kissing him intensely as he pulled their mouths closer together.
Adrian only just managed to pull away before Brody flipped their positions so that he was now on top. Pushing Adrian against the backboard of the bed, Brody was on top of him as his lips were planted onto the side of the Adrian's neck.
Leaving a pink mark on his skin, Adrian was moaning softly at the feeling of Brody on him. Brody let his tongue glide against the same pink area before switching to the other side of his neck.
"This okay?" Brody whispered into Adrian's neck.
"So good." Adrian huskily breathed out as his skins was now riddled with goosebumps.
Brody continued kissing Adrian's neck as Adrian began to stir wildly on the inside. After reaching up to passionately kiss Adrian again on the lips, Brody moved down and pressed gentle kisses onto Adrian's bare chest.
As Brody continued his journey on showering Adrian's chest, he looked down and could see Adrian's full pitched tent through his underwear.
'Nice.'
Adrian pulled Brody back up and snaked his arms around Brody's neck, pulling him into another intense kiss as he pushed his weight onto Brody, making the pair fall down onto him.
The pair were still absorbed by each other mouths when there was a banging on the door.
"Ignore it." Adrian whispered as he hungrily kissed Brody again.
The banging on the door didn't stop as it got louder, heavier as it was persistent.
"Let me get rid of them." Brody whispered into Adrian's mouth.
With one last kiss, Brody covered his lower waist with the nearest item of clothing and ran towards the door.
Opening it slightly to keep the room private, Caden was standing there looking very irritated.
"Finally, you answer!" Caden explained, "There's an emergency meeting and all of us lot have to be there, like right now."
Brody turned to look over his shoulder and saw that Adrian was still waiting for him in bed.
"I'm kind of busy right now, can we do this another time?" Brody was really eager to close the door and continue the make out session with Adrian, the most intense one they've had since they were making the most of their last night here.
Caden wasn't budging as he crossed his arms in anger. "Look I don't care. Just come down to room 204, or we'll all be even more pissed off at this stupid meeting."
Caden left straight afterwards, not letting Brody get another word in. Brody closed the door as he rested his head against it, defeated by how the mood was now interrupted.
Brody dragged himself towards the couch to put his clothes on. "There's some sort of emergency meeting I have to go to."
"Right now?" Adrian asked.
Brody had finished putting his clothes on before walking to Adrian and placing a loving kiss to his lips. "Believe me, I rather carry on with what we were doing if I got to choose."
Adrian nodded his head as he seemed to understand.
"I'll be back as soon as I can alright?"
With one last kiss, Brody left the room while Adrian watched him leave.
~~~~~~~~~~
Brody made it to room 204 with ample time to spare - in case he wouldn't be able to drag himself away from Adrian later.
When he made it to Caden's room, most of his team was already there.
Brody greeted his teammates before taking an empty seat by the table. He watched as it took a full 20 minutes for the rest of his team to make it into the room. Coach Sheen still hadn't arrived yet so the team played cards while they waited.
Brody, who didn't join in on the games, was soon approached by his ex Sam who sat with him in the secluded corner.
"Hi."
"Hey Sam, you know what this emergency meeting is about?" Brody asked him.
Sam quietly laughed. "Straight to the question, no small talk?"
Brody quickly apologised for his rushed behaviour. "What's up?"
"When we were at the game earlier, it brought back memories of our first date at the ice rink."
Brody began dreading this conversation, familiar with how every scenario that involved them two talking together concluded with Sam trying to get them back together again.
"Sam, just stop it already. We both know where this conversation is going to go and I'm still not interested in you anymore." Brody tried to politely diffuse the situation quickly.
Sam rushed to hold Brody's hand, only for Brody to pull it back. "We were so great together."
Brody grew frustrated. "I remember us not really making time for each other. Both of us were in our own circle and some times it felt that we forgot were even dating."
"And I regret that! I should have put more effort into our relationship. Us being apart made me realise how much I missed you." Sam spoke emotionally.

Brody once again tried to put his foot down. "What we had, whilst it was nice at the time, it was never as great as you imagined. We both deserved better back then and we both deserve better now. Reminiscing about what little we ACTUALLY had isn't good Sam, and you need to stop, now."
Sam stormed off after hearing all of that from Brody, not quite accepting the reality from the conversation they just had. Brody sighed in frustration as he felt that they were going to have this conversation all over again.
~~~~~~~~~~
It was later than Brody had expected when Coach Sheen finally joined the rest of the team. Brody saw how Coach Sheen looked dubious and confused.
"Coach, what's with this emergency meeting when it's already so late?" Brody was quick to ask. "Couldn't this wait until Monday?"
Coach Sheen was still antsy after speaking to a numerous amount of his colleagues. "As your Coach, I felt that it was in my best interest to take care of you all. And I wanted to give you a heads up when there might be a problem coming up with our school very soon."
The team felt very nervous and uncomfortable at the ominous statement.
"Coach, I think I speak for the team when I say you're starting to scare us now." Brody said out loud. "What problem?"
"The school may be pending investigation for the misuse of the treasury funding. There are rumours going around on the school message board that says there's evidence money has been taken out of the fund for unintended purposes." Coach Sheen had announced.
The group of players quickly began murmuring together at the sudden news, unsure on how to process the information. Coach Sheen watched as multiple phones were pulled out as they started to look into the situation more.
Brody quickly looked over the school message board and saw how loads of people were making posts, making up rumours and accusations about what is happening with the school.
"People are saying it's illegal gambling."
"Apparently deputy is involved in a Ponzi scheme."
"The school governors have been moving money into a foreign account."
"The reconstruction is an excuse to delay any money actually being spent."
"There's no money to begin with."
Coach Sheen tried his best to put any rumours to rest. "Look I know we are all equally confused right now but don't panic, I'm sure it's just some sort of misunderstanding and it will all blow over soon."
"How sure are you?" Caden asked. "Tell us honestly, please Coach."
Coach Sheen was left speechless as he ducked his head, unsure on how he could ease the team's mind.
"So what are we meant to do now?"
"We need to keep this between us, we don't want to spread any more false information around." Coach Sheen advised the group.
Unanimously agreeing, it was Sam who then asked what would happen next.
"It may take a few days, a few weeks perhaps for everything to officially roll forward. If the rumours are true the school will probably go under investigation. Worst case scenario is that the school may have to temporarily close, maybe even permanently. I just don't know yet guys." Coach Sheen spoke weakly at the idea. "For now, everyone is asked to continue as normal."
~~~~~~~~~~
It was even later by the time Coach Sheen had sent everyone back into their room. The news that the school could be in trouble came out of nowhere for them all, and now they were all worried everything could be in jeopardy. Everyone kept trying to dig for more information but it was eventually rendered useless as there was no clear answer within the forum.
Brody walked back into his hotel room and saw that all of the lights were turned off. He could see through the moonlight reflection that Adrian was asleep in the bed.
Treading quietly across the carpet, Brody stripped down his clothes and climbed under the covers.
Although usually an optimistic person, Brody couldn't help but worry about what would happen next. If the rumours were true and the school was in financial difficulty on a substantial scale, then what would happen next.
'Would I have to relocate schools?'
'What about all of my school work and grades?'
'What happens to the team?'
'Do I still have a future as a player - with no team?'
Adrian began stirring in the bed as he felt another presence on the bed after he fell asleep alone.
Quickly sneaking a peek, Adrian took a look and saw it was Brody. "Sorry, I ended up falling asleep. I tried to wait up but you were gone for ages."
Adrian shuffled himself closer so that Brody could sneak his arms around him, holding him in bed. "I didn't mean to wake you." Brody tenderly placed a kiss to Adrian's forehead. "Go back to sleep."
Adrian hummed in agreement as he closed his eyes, quickly falling back asleep in Brody's embrace.
Brody held Adrian tighter throughout the night, trying to cloud his worrying thoughts with the comfort of Adrian being right next to him like this.
