Fakhr was not very happy about Nur going to see Shazain leaving their daughter.
" Fakhr you take care of Seher, let me check him what if he is genuinely sick?"
" why is your heart suddenly melting for him?"
"He is your daughter's husband"
" Not for long"
"Fakhr, you are being impulsive. "
"and what about you, you are behaving irrational, how can you do this to our daughter"
"Fakhr, I am doing this for our daughter, I am taking Shuja along, you take care of Seher" she did not prolong her conversation as she knew it will lead no where.
Nur Jahan was at Shazain's palace along with Abasi and Shuja. Nur Jahan's arrival caused a stir in the palace, everyone came to see that famous queen. The head maid Gulab hugged Nur Jahan.
"My queen it's been so long, how are you?" she had tears in her eyes. she was Nur Jahan's personal maid years back.
"I am fine, how are you doing?" Nur Jahan was polite like always. They spoke for a few minutes and later she was escorted inside. she saw Shazain on the bed all flushed. Hot-headed Buffoon, she smiled recalling Fakhr's words.
"How is doing?" she asked Rabia.
"He is fine now, his wound got infected"
"What wound?"
"He punished himself " Gulab replied and told her the story.
"He is an idiot, which sane person does that"
"He is insanely in love with your daughter that's why" Rabia replied.
"My daughter was right you all are very loyal to your Sultan, Is he genuinely sick or a trap to make my daughter come back"
"I really wish it was a trap, I heard a lot about your judgment but this time you came to a conclusion quite early" Rabia thought Nur Jahan came to taunt Shzain.
" I believe in what I see that is why I am here to know his side of the story. If I was judgemental about your Sultan, son in law or not I would not have spared him"
Rabia was very protective of Shazain. She did care for Seher but her loyalties were with Shazain.
"Look my queen," she removed the sheet that covered Shazain.
"His wound is not healed, He asked his men to injure in the same place where his wife was wounded" and then she turned him slowly as he groaned in pain.
Nur Jahan was shocked horrified seeing his back which was all black and blue.
" lately, He asked his men to whip him till their hands were tired, He wanted to punish himself for causing all pain to Seher"
"Idiot, will this bring back the trust my daughter lost in him. I guess I have to rectify many things which are going wrong"

"I heard he was very heartbroken when Seher asked him for a divorce" Rabia was defending Shazain.
"It was all his doings, No one can change my daughters mind now...."
Just then She heard Shazain whimpering, calling out for Seher. Nur Jahan went near him and touched his forehead. he was burning.
"is he going to be fine?" She asked Rabia
"Yes, his temperature has gone down a bit, The medicine is not helping much. "
Nur Jahan took out two bottles of medicine and handed them over to Rabia,
"you can test it for Poison"
"What is it?"
" I don't have any doubt about your medical skills Rabia but can't deny the fact that My nephew Murad is a king of medicines. These medications were created by him. It will heal Shazain quickly"
Rabia was just looking at bottles.
Nur Jahan turned to Shuja and Abasi
" Don't stand there like useless statues, come and help "
They both came and helped Shazain.
" wow Abasi your brother is a true psycho lover" Shuja whispered in Abasi's ear.
" All for your sister"
"My sister will not be affected"
" you want to get us killed, your mum is observing us"
Just then they heard Nur Jahan's voice.
"You both stay here and help Shazain, let me rest for now"

Najma Begum heard about Shazain being Sick. She ordered that the news should not go beyond the palace walls. She along with Utbah set out to see her grandson. when she arrived she was surprised to see Nur Jahan along with her son sitting in Shazain's room. The last time she saw her was at her Son's funeral, Years back.
She observed Nur Jahan, she perfectly aged along with time. She was still a beauty. Seeing Nur reminded her of her only Son, Losing him. She still had resentment towards her. The scar on her face and her four fingers reminded her of Nur Jahan. She started comparing her with Seher. Seher was completely the opposite of the woman in front of her. Nur was fierce whereas Seher was calm. She never wanted to see Nur Jahan again but she had to do it for her grandson and her granddaughter-in-law. sometimes destiny plays funny games. Her son was madly in love with Nur Jahan and now her grandson was the same with her daughter.
Nur Jahan who was busy talking to Shuja, did not notice Najma begum.
"Brother in Law's temperature is down Ummi"
"He will be up soon, I knew Murad's hands have healing magic, May god bless him more"
Nur Jahan felt someone's eyes on her and she quickly looked in direction of Najma Begum.
Nur Jahan also did not like Najma begum. she did not forget the past, seeing her, memorizes which were faded came back.

"Hello" She got up and greeted Najma Begum. Abasi and Shuja also greeted her.
Najma begum ran to her grandson. She kissed Shazain'sfore head.
"Shazain, What did you do to yourself" She was crying holding his hands.
"Noting will happen to him queen Najma, His temperature has come down. He should be awake soon" Rabia updated her.
"Abasi and Shuja can you please go out so that adults can talk in privacy." Najma begum requested
When they left she turned to Nur Jahan
" I am surprised seeing you here, did Seher forgive him? "
Seeing Nur gave Najma hope that Seher might have returned to Shazain.
" No, Seher wants a divorce and she won't be coming back"
Najma Begum was all shocked.
" Nur Jahan, are you in your senses"
"I am in my senses, That is why I am here to help otherwise Your grandson did not leave any chance to hurt my daughter"
"My grandson is your son in law as well "
"I don't think that relationship will sail any further, Fakhr is very determined to free Seher out of this"
"Nur Jahan, Please leave the past behind, I beg you Shazain is all I have. his life resides in Seher"
"Queen Najma I do not live in past, Shazain is the son of Afshan, the woman who I admire. I am here to make him understand and help him move on. What Seher wants is up to her, I cannot force her. Marrying Shazain was her choice, no matter how much I opposed she wanted to Live with him and now If she wants a divorce I cannot help"
"Please Nur, Shazain is nothing like his father and grandfather. He was never into women and bad habits. There were rumors about his sexuality. Even I started believing that something was wrong with him. I forced him many times to get married but he wouldn't budge.
Even with Ariana he never crossed his limits. It was as if he was waiting for Seher. It took him a while to understand but I am the witness that he loves your daughter.
I won't lie to you I was very harsh with Seher but Shazain behind his cold demeanor always cared for her. "
" Najma Begum, Loyalty doesn't mean just physical intimacy, trust is what makes a relationship strong. I don't know about Shazain but Seher does not trust him"
"The time I have known Seher, I learned one thing about her, She is not like you, She values relationships. She loves Shazain more than anything. If she knows his condition she will not be at pace."
Nur Jahan did not like her tone.
"This what you did isn't it, breeding him in the most toxic environment. You fed him lies that I was responsible for his father's death but the fact is I had nothing to do with Shazeb."
Najma begum hung her head in shame.
Just then Shzain woke up.
"Seher.." He saw Nur and confused her for Seher.
Nur Jahan came and gave him a slap.
"I should have slapped you the day you abducted my daughter. Stop being a delusional fool. Seher is not coming back to you. If you think harming yourself will bring her back then you are wrong. Your trick won't work again"
"Nur, he just woke up. Don't be harsh on him and what trick are you talking about" Najma Begum took a stand for Shazain.
"Your too much love has spoiled him, you preferred male child over female and that's why he turned into a brainless, ego-centric, hot-headed Buffoon. did he not tell you how Seher agreed to marry him"
"Please Ummi, call me any name, I will bear any punishment you give me but don't take Seher away from me" even in his weak state Shazain was pleading Nur Jahan
"Since when did I become your Ummi?"
"The day I married Seher" He got up, his body was hurting but he was used to this kind of injury.
He kneeled down holding Nur Jahan's leg.
"What are you doing Shazain?"
"I won't leave you Ummi, until you promise that you won't take Seher away"
Najma Begum smiled looking at Shazain. A man can really go crazy in love she thought.
"Look there is nothing I can do, Fakhr loves Seher more than me and he will not listen. It is useless to plead me"
"You can convince him, please"
"Leave my feet, I can only do one thing"
"What?" Shazain was very hopeful. Nur Jahan looked at him.
" 15 Days, Even though Fakhr will be angry with me, I will take you along, In 15 days You need to win Seher's forgiveness but trust me it won be easy. Her father will be there stand like a rock behind her. If you fail to do so then forget her and walk away from her life"
Shazain's face was beaming with happiness.
"15 days is enough. I will make her change her mind. Thank you so much. "
************************************************************************************
Fakhr was worried when Nur Jahan did not return for a week. Even though she updated about Shazain's health, Fakhr was not at peace.
" Baba are you worried about Shazain?" Seher asked.
" Should I be?" He asked his daughter. Seher wanted to ask about Shazain but her ego came in-between.
" Baba, I don't care about him"
" Then why will I be worried for him. It is just I am missing your mother. "
" what about me, did you not miss me"
Fakhr was surprised hearing the voice.

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
