After the figure stopped panicking but was slowly backing away.
"Um! This isn't the last you've heard of me! The magical high commission will hear of this-"
They we're frozen suddenly in mid rant. A magical force brought them over to the group.
"Now lets see who the famous black thorn of the Masters of Djinn really is.."
Nigel said assuming the thorn was being put under one of Lynn's silent spells. He pulled down the cloak to reveal a man with large glasses squirming.
"I believe you have some explaining to do?"
The man growled in distaste.
"So obviously this man isn't the real thorn. That much can be assumed."
The group nodded along to Julia.
"So who are you?"
The man huffed but answered.
"I heard rumors of the actual famous thorn attending tonight. So what better way to show my appreciation then coming here and doing the job for them."
Nigel glared.
"What job?"
The man scoffed at Nigel as if he had any high ground.
"Clearly they were here to put a stop to the low level likes of your family's show! They just got swayed along with everyone else, but once they see what I've done I'm sure they will be pleased."
Lynn had enough of the man and sent him away with a flick of her hand. He was knocked out but everyone was staring at Lynn who slowly lowered her hand.
"I'm not pleased at all."
Was all she said and turned to Nigel who was staring at her in shock. Before either could say anything julia pointed at Lynn.
"You're trying to hook up with the Thorn of the high magical committee!"
Nigel's parents were bowing trying to appease Lynn in some way. Nigel was being shaken by his sister who was screaming in shock for him at this point. Lynn sighed putting her face in her hands. Jake decided that's as enough.

"Hey!"
Everyone focused on him.
"She's just a girl who can do magic without a wand, and what if she works for the boss of the magic committee? She has powerful magic and has a high up job that lets her use it for the greater good of our magical world! What's so wrong about that?"
The Thralls were silent before Julia looked at Lynn, as just that, herself. Lynn was hugging herself trying to make herself as little as possible. Julia turned to her parents who also came to the same conclusion.
"We're sorry, I, it's just, you know, the rumors and false info one can get..if anything, really Glad you're a girl. Go team you know?"
Lynn smiled a bit at that.
"Thank you for coming to our show, it seems Nigel needs to settle things so let's pack up. Julia, come on."
Julia nodded a bit reluctant but gave her brother's shoulder a pat. Nigel has yet to say a word or even look up.
"Nigel?"
Lynn asked quietly. Nigel looked up with the most confused face ever.
"What even? Ok, so your the most powerful mage of our time, and you complimented my magic?!!"
Lynn was about to respond but Nigel's mouth was running a mile a minute.
"Not even to include that you are running around. With long! What's even that about? You have every right to-"
Lynn grabbed his face and gave him a kiss. Nigel was just frozen before he pressed back into it. When Lynn let his face go he grabbed her hands.
"..Look, I'm sorry if I hadn't been honest, but what was I supposed to do? By your reaction, my name and rumors have led you to believe a lot of different things..if you would still have me-"
"in a heart beat, it's just, gonna take some getting used to."

Jake scoffed at this.
"I'm pretty sure I saved the magical world and the human world like twice, and you think being with her is more scandalous."
Marc cracked up at that wrapping an arm lazily around Jake's side. Nigel stared Jake up and down before raising an eyebrow.
"Am I supposed to be impressed?"
Jake squawked but Marc squeezed his hand so jake could face him.
"Don't listen to him, to me, you're everything."
Jake flushed and was temporarily quiet. Lynn smiled back up at Nigel and pecked his cheek.
"Thank you, and by the way, I'm going to debunk any or all rumors you will ask me."
Nigel paused before staring at her warily.
"Did you really jinxed the elves in Fae cove to settle a matter dealing with pudding?"
Lynn paused before blushing.
"That's only one of the true ones...look the elves wouldn't make trade with me because of my status and I was hungry."
She blabbered on and they spent the next hours listening to her debunk rumors or agree that they were true.
"I can not believe you accidentally stole a magical artifact thinking it was some random thing. Did you even return it?"
Lynn showed them her right ear with a feathered earring.
"Does it look like I did? Plus, they had no evidence of it since this was found recently at the time."
Their group laughed but soon enough they had to leave. Lynn stayed behind wanting to talk to Nigel alone. Once he was done helping his family pack up for the night he found her. They both just sorta stare at each other.
"Hey."
"Hey."
They both day before dissolving into laughter.
"Sorry, I'm honestly reeling from the fact that your still one of the most powerful mages of our generation. And decided to date me.. would this count as a date?"
Lynn pecked his cheek.
"No, we got together after the whole mess of today. You owe me a first date somewhere thrall. And maybe a bit more alone? I love Jake and Marc, and their friends too.."
Nigel nodded. He rather spend time alone with Lynn.
"Yeah, I think I have a couple of places I'd like us to go to."
Lynn smiled and they just leaned against each other in peace. Lynn's expression grew worried and slowly hesitant. Nigel noticed this.
"What's wrong?"
Lynn bit her lip before turning to him.
"I want you to know there is probably going to be dangers in dating me. What happened today sadly wasn't the first. And the magical high council could view you as hindering to my progress.."
Lynn felt a hand cup her cheek.
"I know, and that won't stop me from loving you Lynn. You're not a soldier or some mercenary of the council. You're Lynn Cardoso, my lovely girlfriend. Who enjoys the history of magic and wishes to respect it."
Nigel leaned his forehead against hers.
"Whatever trouble may come, I'm fully prepared to handle it. After all, I got the American dragon, prince of atlántica, and the most powerful mage of our time on my side."
Lynn laughed and gave him a playful shove before pausing.
"How did you-"
"I know very well what his shell necklace is from. It's a rare type of shell from the bottom of the Ginora caverns. Those are only from atlántica. And last I checked, those aren't for sale even in the black markets."
Lynn hummed before pecking Nigel.
"Alright, don't go all Sherlock on me. Just keep your lips sealed, he's my bff."
