《》Chapter 2

== Alpha's POV. ==

I honestly wanted to spend a good night with my bed. I had been away to the neighboring pack all day working on an agreement about hunts. When I got back, I got the news that they had found something inhuman near our borders and it was unconscious. Even if I was tired, I had to take care of it. It could be a danger to our pack and people were restless about it. My delta even said that none of the nurse or maids wanted to approach it. Only one doctor did and he only just looked if it was breathing and living.

James knocked on my door, mind-linking me that he was it with the inhumane. He stepped in followed by a little piece of what looked like a Human but her smell…

As we entered the room, I saw the Alpha’s gaze fall upon the girl. I could see him physically breathing in her disturbing scent. His eyes flared up, his forehead wrinkling as he frowned. She also looked at him in the eyes, but hers were steadier, intelligent even, like she could read everything in him.

“Should we sit?” I tentatively asked. The girl looked at me and nodded before taking place into one of the sofas. The Alpha sat across her and I sat beside him. He was intensively looking at her while she was busy looking around at the room.

“You are not human” stated the Alpha in a deep voice.

The girl’s eyes moved to his face. She smirked, “Obviously”.

The Alpha growled at her response but she didn’t seem fazed at all. “What are you?” he asked. The girl shrugged, her eyes only focusing on the books lining the walls of the large office.

She looked rather out of place. The office was meant to look ancient. The walls were paneled with dark wood and lined with big ancient book cases filled with old books about history and records of our pack’s past. The desk itself was made out of massive dark wood and carved beautifully. The sofas were made out of leather tainted in a dark green color. But there she sat, her hair in a mess, wearing sweatpants and looking around without any worry.

“Answer me”, ordered the Alpha.

“Or what?”, she answered defiantly.

“We’ll do with you want we do with all trespassers…” answered the Alpha, his power surging out of his body, making me want to disappear in a hole.

“The last thing you would ever do on this earth is to…kill…me” she answered putting more emphasis on the last two words. I felt the Alpha roaring inside but containing himself only letting out a low growl.

“Why wouldn’t we kill you?” I asked.

“Because your Alpha seems to think I’m his mate” she smirked.

I almost gasped, looking between him and her. He looked both pissed and powerless while she looked more like she was having fun. “You don’t feel the pull?” I asked her.

Even if she was human or something else, she should feel the pull of the bond, even if it can be just a tug. She smiled back at me and only said “He smells like I could eat him”.
