《In The Eye of Her Storm // Klaus Mikaelson》Thirty-Seven

I spent the first week convincing myself that the idea of love was just the same as it had once been. An idea in all.

It is pointless. Choosing someone to play house with for eternity.

Creating a bound so profound and building weakness with it. The highs could never be higher but the lows seemed to get lower.

And they did. Get lower i mean.

The first three days had been a torture of grief i had never endured. I was used to loss. Many had died before me, many whom i had cared for deeply with passion and fire.

But this time, i could only describe it as eternal grief.

Having someone alive in the world whom you can not have.

I come to terms with my life around day four.

I sit and sulk and hate the world eternally. Eating my heart out with lavish foods and people.

Day seven i'm over it. To a certain extent. I decide its time to move on, things had to be done. Empires had to be built. Push it away and forget. It will ease with time. So lets get time out of the way.

The best decision i had ever made.

It's been two weeks and im feeling fascinated with the world. I'm in touch with who i am again. The grass is green and the sky is blue and tomorrow is still coming.

All is right in the world.

I don't know the time right now. The sky was light when i came in.

I've been playing pool with strangers for hours.

It had satisfied me for a while until i realised i had years of practice on each participant. There was no second thought with my next decision.

I pulled a tastier man from the crowd, he hadn't caught my eye until i had looked, seeing him already staring at me. I laugh lowly to myself as i walk away.

He catches the game, following like they always do.

We swerve a corner as i pull him in.

His lips taste of bitter beer and his hair is stringy but he looks like he could play a good game of pool.

I snap his neck as i part from his lips.

I don't let the body slip to the floor. My black smoke has risen and encased the mans entirety before even seconds had passed. He pulls calm mannerisms into his posture as his black tinted eyes stare soothingly back at me.

"I could have done this whilst you were alive but your consciousness pestering about would have annoyed me." I tell him softly as i fix my hair.

I look up as i realise he isn't speaking. I force a laugh out having forgotten.

"You don't speak hmmm, you can. Be funny. Or.... you know, else." I shrug as he nods.

We walk back to the pool table as he picks up a que, he chalks the top before passing it to me. I gift an amused hum.

A perk of being me. Mindless servants a neck snap away.

"Where are we now?" I ask as he racks up the set.

"Ohio, a bar called Old Grady's." He has a softer voice then i would have expected.

"I do quite like bars. It's easier to keep an eye on people." I take the first shot. It's barely aimed and poorly executed but it does the job.

Of course Boy Wonder moves forward, aiming with equal poise and practice as me. Being as he was controlled by my power alone.

I get back to chatting as the game commences.

"I spent a good portion of my life avoiding Ohio. I don't like it here but now, i'm seeing its charms." I muse looking around.

"We are in a half run down side bar tucked away by even shittier bars. Where is the charm in that?" I chuckle lightly as i sink another shot.

"Who's going to notice if i make it shittier." I'm winning at this point, a little effort has come to play but my component has managed to keep up.

Over all he hasn't but i hadn't expected anything else.

"What is it you want me for?" He asks after a moment. He has a dazed look in his abnormally darkened eyes.

I lean against my pool que as i eye him in a motherly fashion.

"You see that? That's my power swirling inside of you. Dying to know it's purpose for horror in this world. So i'll tell you your role before you implode with the need to please me. Your here to play pool. Your my pool boy, got it?" I smile tilting my head.

He nods, moving back to the game. The beauty of it all, he began to get better at it.

Over the course of the next five games Pool Boy had become a star player. I had laughed at the improvement and enjoyed the games greatly.

I set the que down for a moment as the familiar feeling of thirst creeps up on me.

I turn to PB.

"You see that girl over there?" I ask him turning his head with my hand to face her way.

"Yes." He replies noticing her stood by the bar in the dimly lit corner.

"Your going to take that steak knife from that couples dinner without them noticing." I whisper.

"Walk over to her and shield her from view. Cover her mouth with your hand so no sound comes out." I slip closer to him as i speak. There was no need for me to say my instructions out loud. He would complete them either way.

I just found sick satisfaction in telling a man what to do.

"Then shove your knife as fast as you can right here on her body." I let my hand linger over his now no longer beating heart.

He walks off without question leaving me to lean against the pool table alone.

My eyes rake across the amount of people here. All with very interesting lives im sure. I wonder if any of them felt chills at my presence.

Im pulled from my thoughts by the sight of lingering red.

I'm not completely insane. I had made smoke meet her skin the second that knife hit. She had slumped for only a second before standing again and walking over here. Where she would be granted her role.

"Fetch me a drink from the bar will you?"
