"Something wrong with my party love?" Perhaps things that have yet to occur. Without speaking my mind i turned back to face Klaus.

"It now lacks its host." I mused instead. He came to join me by my side overlooking the night in all its glory. I'm sure we could have stood their silently for all the time i had to spare but something in me chose to speak out. To offer him something before i had to take instead.

"You know, the night my family became who we are was much similar to this one." I could see the question in his eyes, the want to know.

"I find that most storms hide behind tranquillity." Klaus offered back making me smile.

"I'm sure you have experiences to prove such." He nodded slowly as the wind whistled around us.

"It's no secret about how the originals came to be and who's blood spilled to change us, what she meant to me." I bit back the smirk.

"Your precious Tatia no?" I mused as he smiled lowly.

"She wasn't mine nor Elijah's." I hummed grasping his hand in mine.

"I'd like to show you my home." His eyes met mine with question before he nodded anyway. I moved closer to him to ensure he didn't panic as black smoke enveloped around us, a gate way to a vision of the past.

One i couldn't hold for long but a sanctuary.

The rickety hut of my old home stood sturdy centre of the madness, myself and Klaus stood only a few feet away. As i had said the night was calm and the wind blew, only the small flicker of fire in the distance.

I didn't speak a word as i lead us into the hut, my breath hitching as my eyes landed on the sight of my mother and father. They had been bed riddled that faithful night.

"That is my father, a witch. My mother the Luna of her pack." I gestured to the pair and then to their side where a small boy sat, soup in hand that he had made, his own body aghast with malnourishment.

"That boy is Ezra." Klaus looked closer to inspect him, his sickly body shared no resemblance with the man he had seen nowadays.

"What happened to him?" He asked softly.

"Times were difficult and a fight was approaching from the west, tribes had heard that we were wolves and wished to end us. Ezra was in charge of the food, to keep us all healthy he offered his share to the rest of us." As I finished another boy entered the room, his body mucky as he neared the basin to rinse himself, once he had done he grasped a clean cloth to tend to our sickly mother.

"Ezra, allow me some space would you? And wash your hands, you don't want to catch what mother has." Leon ordered placing the damp cloth on her head, wiping down her hands after.

"She was ill?" Klaus turned to me as i nodded.

"The tribes had been poisoning her with wolfsbane, she became so weak that she couldn't even fight off simple illness." Oh how i had hated them for it, my passion for vengeance sickening. My hand tightened around Klaus's as a young girl stumbled from her room in the hut, her eyes avoided those of her parents.

I had been terrified to lose them and with the threat of the people nearing, the torches and fire to push us out, i had been furious. All could be seen on my face as i grasped two of my fathers fighting blades.

"Eris." My father called weakly his power drained from trying to help my mother. The young girl didn't falter in her steps.

"Rest now papa." She whispered. I followed her out of the hut as she passed her eldest brother, pulling Klaus along with me.

Kyrin was to busy to see her near the flames.

I found out only a century after this night my father and mother had made a plan, one of which they had told their eldest child. The night they made him promise to watch his siblings. I never did see him dig those two graves.

"That's you isn't it? Your going to fight." Klaus asked as we followed after the girl.

"No one else was willing to face the masses." We halted as she did her eyes alight with molten fury, only her two blades against a dozen people.

"You had a death wish." Klaus scoffed in astonishment.

"I had only killed one person before, suffered the curse no more then three times." I informed, at this time i had been around 19 years old. And old soul in a young body.

"You and yours will fall here tonight, by the wrath of the family Ashire. You play with fire in the wolfs den, you get burned." Her words had been a promise that she had upheld that night.

The first man moved with the intent to kill me then. His expectations of a swift and easy end were quickly ruined as i grasped the blades on my sides and spilt his blood before the rest, it flowed into a stream of thickness.

"You cross this and you meet the same fate." The people around him had looked aghast even though they had wanted to do the same to my own family. This mans torch fell to the ground, taking light to the dry grass.

"You were mortal here." Klaus pointed out as i nodded.

The men moved forward despite the girls warning and she cut them down with a pained ache in her bones, spurred by the fear of losing her family. Some were left with slashes through their throats and others had been pushed into the raging fire.

Those who grabbed her, were bit, kicked, punched whatever she could land.

"You fight dirty." Klaus mused.

"I fight to win." I corrected. I closed my eyes now as 8 men remained, she debated on crossing her own line. I knew what came next.

Black smoke spiralled from the hut.

"My parents knew they were never going to recover, knew they wouldn't be able to protect us any longer and so they cast a spell." Klaus's eyes followed the tendrils of wispy air, watching as the hut was enveloped and then as they moved to Kyrin and I, coiling round us like chains.

I had been panicked in that moment, feeling my veins light with power and pure destruction. My eyes lighting their royal blue as i became an immortal.

"The spell my father preformed cost his and my mothers life, offering each of their powers to their children." I swallowed thickly as the younger version of myself tested her knew limits, crossing her own line. Those last 8 fell quickly.

The smoke lingered in the air as well as our silence. It snuffed out the fire and left the girl alone on the battle field.

"Eris-" Klaus reached out but I shuck him off, i had lived this night over and over and no amount of pity could sate my shame.

All for nothing in the end.

"In our final months the spell had been perfected to our characteristics." I informed him, hoping to avoid his coddling.

"The boy who starved him self to feed those he loved gained the power to drain people of their nutrition, leave them a husk of who they once were. He became Famine." I gestured to where Ezra stumbled from the hut, his eyes watery and full of tears. Then we looked to Leon who came out after him, placing his hand on his brother to comfort them both.

"The one who tried to save us all from illness and pain became able to riddle anyone with disease, make them so sickly the doctors ran in fear. He was known as Pestilence." Leon stifled his tears in efforts to aid his twin.

The young Eris stumbled to the hut with confusion after all she had thought they won.

"The eldest child had taken the biggest burden that night, he dug the graves for all those who fell, spared the sight of our fallen parents. He was granted the gift of taking life as he chose and giving it, feared as he was Death himself." I avoided Klaus's gaze as he looked to the last piece of the puzzle.

Who's fiery eyes had dimmed to a mournful gaze.

I had fallen to my knees, screamed until my lungs had shaken and my heart cracked. Everything had broken no matter how hard i had tried to save it.

"And the girl who was willing to die for the rest, with anger in her heart for an unfair world. She was given a power to rise the dead and create an army, so she would never have to fight alone like she was forced to that night. Perhaps the most deadly of all, War incarnate." The black smoke began to rise again as it pulled us away from that old memory.

Once again stood in the emptiness of a backyard, the lull of music instead of pained screams.
