《In The Eye of Her Storm // Klaus Mikaelson》Twenty-Six

Its always a spectacle when you enter a ball with four men lingering around you all dressed in black apposed to your own shimmering blue. The gems didn't do well to hide my appearance here, nor did the laughter my brothers did not hide.
"Keep appearances and behave." I told them as they each nodded, Ezra and Kyrin going separate ways as Dante and Leon moved off together. I wasn't left alone for long.
"You came." I took a breath before i faced Klaus, my face passive but my heart a give away.
"How could i not when everything seems so alluring?" His smile flickered.
"The dress suits you perfectly love." I mirrored his smile then.
"From which princess did you still it?" I mused. Klaus laughed at my attempt of small talk.
"I'd never offer you something that wasn't unique." I deemed it a worthy answer as his siblings began to gather on the stairs, his eyes followed mine but he didn't seem ready to join them. I placed a chaste kiss on his cheek, words repeating in my head over and over.
Give him a chance.
I whispered in his ear as i pulled away.
"I'll be waiting for our dance." Klaus nodded at my words as his dimples shone through his smile, leaving me with a bright shining grin as he left to stand with his siblings. Ezra accompanied me to ensure i wasn't alone.
"Thank you for joining us. You know whenever my mother brings us together like this its tradition to commence the evening with a dance. Tonight's pick is a centuries old waltz so if you could all pick yourselves a partner and join us in the ball room.
I barely made it two feet before my eyes caught sight of his.

"May I?" Klaus asked offering his arm, i allowed my self a moment of hesitation before brushing it off, linking my arm through his.
The dance began to slow music, a tempo of which soothed my nerves and my ears and no words needed to be spoken. The silence a comfort in itself. We moved melodically like two vipers in a den and i wondered how i had avoided all this. Especially now, in this room filled with people where i couldn't seem to see anyone else but him.
"Your quite the dancer." Klaus spoke softly as my eyes flitted to his.
"I've had centuries to perfect the practice." My answer though short was not snipped.
"A horseman of many talents." He taunted playfully.
"Kings tend to fall from grace through love and what better then a pretty girl who is light on her feet?" It had been true, many had fallen for me not realising it had also been there downfall.
"All you have conquered and yet you remain a myth." My eyes lit with cheerful glee.
"Your name is whispered in the shadows Niklaus Mikaelson, mine is written in holy text." He hummed as he twirled me.
"I don't doubt it belongs there love." And thus the danced moved on, leaving me in the arms of another.
"Damon." I smiled politely.
"Queen of Mystic Falls hm? How long has that been your plan." He asked as we moved as one.
"Just as long as the pillars to my temple began to crumble. You were getting risky Damon, i figured I'd lessen the burden on your shoulders." He huffed a laugh.
"You taught me the meaning of risk." I nodded.
"Never in concern for yourself however." To risk others and not his own life.

"So your powerplay is for little old me?" He mused.
"Wait, where's Elena?" We each looked unable to spot her. I sighed as Kyrin caught my eye, gesturing me over.
"Go find her, i have something to deal with." He nodded as the dance slowed and we parted ways. Kyrin looked less then pleased with the night as i made my way to him.
"What is it brother?" I asked knowing his words would not amuse me, being as he looked less then happy to say them.
"Seems as though trouble has started to occur, the younger Mikaelsons wish to spit in the face of their mothers orders and therefor your rules. The witch herself has demanded a presence with the doppelganger alone. No Damon to sate her stupidity." He listed as i sighed out in annoyance.
"Have Ezra watch out on the siblings, you listen to what the Original mother has planned." Kyrin nodded as he eyes me in suspicion.
"And you dear sister? What chore do you burden yourself with?" I pulled my lack of nonchalance back together as i readied my self for the task ahead.
"I, brother, am about to ruin any and all progress i have made by setting an example. Seeing as only the Mikaelsons are stirring the pot, one of them will receive the shame of it all." Kyrin hummed lowly.
"We all knew deep down that it wouldn't be the Salvatore's to spur the violence tonight." Rightly so, they had no cards in their deck.
"I only hoped everyone would take me more seriously." Yet they hadn't had they? And now my hand was forced to mediate the mess of it all.
"That is why we set examples Eris." Kyrin assured as i took a breath.
"Let me know who makes the move first and I'll do what needs to be done." My brother nodded at my words.
"Enjoy your last few moments of serenity before you anger our hosts." He failed to obtain his smirk.
"Your funny Rin, taunt me after will you?" My words were clear sarcasm as he excused himself leaving me to turn for the doors. A few moments of serenity as he had said. In the peace of the ever giving wind and the starry night outside.
My feet lead me to a ready made trail, where horses littered the grounds with carriages at there backs and trees spanned as far as the eye could see. The chatter of people and symphony of music was drowned out by the distance and the cooing of the wind.
I prayed to Gods i didn't believe in that all would go well and no one would undermine me. Though as i said, i lacked faith and so i doubted my prayers would go far and even heard. I rocked on my feet as the bottom of my dress avoided the dirt below and wondered if i could do the same.
Perhaps i had two minutes alone, or even five or ten but it felt like a few seconds knowing the burden still lingered. Only for a moment did the worry cease to plague me, only when he accompanied me in the wind of the night.
For a second the stars seemed brighter and my prayers seemed to become heard.

Gaijin
Gaijin means outsider or foreigner. That goes doubly so for David Wyatt after he found himself in a world being chased by something that looked eerily like a stereotypical Japanese Oni. Now, he has to figure out how he can find his place in a world where most people dislike him on principle. At least everything is also out to eat him in some way… wait, that’s a not a positive. This is a Eastern Fantasy GameLit story. It is primarily told from the main character's perspective with the very common trope of an isekai. There will be my own spin on things, so facts I pull from eastern mythology and legends will be drastically different in some aspects. In the end, this story is just for your and my enjoyment. There will be guaranteed chapters every Friday at 15:00 CST, and I will randomly post chapters at other times when I get in the mood for writing or when I like a particular scene.
