Flashback-

"Come on, Dad!" The giddy teen beamed as she made her way up the hill they had chosen to have the picnic on. Her father slowly trailed behind as he carried the basket. He was heavily breathing, but he did his best to hide it from the girl.

"I'm coming, (Y/n)." He laughed as he struggled to keep up. The girl giggled at his slowness, as he would sometimes lag behind to annoy her, and walked down to help him climb.

"Your such a slow poke." She teased and grabbed his arm to aid his way up the hill. He thanked her and they finally made it to the top. They unpacked and began to eat when they realized they packed too much food. "I wish mom was here... We all could of enjoyed this." She sighed as she took a bite of the apple in her hand. The dad gave her a sorrowful look.

"I know, but she chose to work today. I couldnt convince her that food was better than hours." He sighed and shrugged before taking a bite of his sandwich. The two spent hours on the hill talking about various topics, and even scheming a way that they could buy an island and isolate from the world, just the family. The girl was a lot like her dad, the two were loners who shared their cynical, pessimistic, view on life. However whenever they were together, they were happy and they felt like they could face anything. (Y/n) tried to get along with her mother, but she always struggled with it as the two just didn't click. The mother understood her daughter being a daddy's girl, but it eas hard, because the two would often butt-heads... Especially in the younger female's recent teen years. After a few more minutes of the two discussing how cool it would be if they could run away, they started to pack up. (Y/n)'s father was being slower than usual, and she noticed... but was too scared to say anything. She waited until she was standing at the car, but her father appeared to be having a harder time going down the hill.

"Dad? Come on, you aren't usually this slow..." The concerned girl rushed over as he almost stumbled down the hill.

"I know, for some reason my body is aching. I dont... feel right, (Y/n). Do you mind if we stop somewhere before we go home?" The father asked the girl, and she nodded before the two got into the car. They drove towards the unspecified location on the backroads when the male began to choke on air.

"Dad?!" The girl freaked out as the car started to swerve. "Dad calm down!" He began to heaven as they almost crashed "Stop the car, stop thE CAR!" She shrieked, and he quickly slammed the brake, stopping the car on the sife of the road. "I-i'll drive us to the hospital, just sit here and stay calm!" She was mainly telling herself not to freak out, and the two switched spots. She had driven just a couple times before, but never on the real roads, but she needed to focus to get her dad to the hospital. She flew down the backroads as her father slowly inhaled and exhaled. They arrived and her father could barely walk, so she did her best to aid him on the way in. "Come on, you have to stay with me. Make it, please." She mumbled as she rushed into the hospital. "Please! Someone help me- MY DAD NEEDS HELP." A doctor and nurse came up to her, snd took the two to a room. She was told to wait outside, much to her dismay, so she tried to calm down in a seat near the room. After what felt like an eternity, a nurse walked up to the girl and asked if she had a mother. "Of course I have a mother! Can I call her?" She snapped. The nurse took her to a phone, since she had forgotten hers in the car, and dialed her mother's number like a rocket. She picked up within a few rings.

"Hello?" Her mother answered in a curious tone, she didn't know the number.

"MOM! COME TO THE HOSPITAL, PLEASE! DADS SICK!" The girl was on the verge of tears. The mother went silent, but quickly told her she was on her way before she hung up and nade her way to the hospital.

(Y/n) paced around the hospital halls as she tried to make sense of what happened. Her mother called her name and ran towards her. The mother gave her daughter a hug and cupped her cheeks to tell her that everything was going to be ok. "Whats wrong? Where is he?" She asked in the calmest way she could. The teen was crying when she looked into her mother's eyes, and pointed towards the door.

"They won't let me in..." She sounded like a small child who was begging to go on a 'big kids ride'.

"Are you the wife...?" A nurse creeped up behind the two and startled the younger female.

"Yes, yes I am. Where is my husband?!" The mother asked as she let go of her daughter.

"Please ma'am, come with me. Please stay here Miss." She looked at the younger female and walked away with her mother.

"NO! LET ME SEE MY DAD!" (Y/n) yelled as she tried to follow them in. It was useless, they wouldn't let her see him. After another eternity of waiting, she was finally told that she could see her father. She bolted towards the room and swung the door open, but she froze in her spot once she saw his state. "Daddy..." She silently choked out, and the ringing of the heart monitor bored into her soul. Her father slightly smiled in her direction. "D-daddy..." She felt like she was a small child as she felt so helpless. She couldn't comprehend how she even got here. One second ago she was sitting on the grass with her father and before she knew it she was staring at him in a hospital bed. She ran to his side and took his hand as she didn't want to hurt him by throwing himself onto his body. Her mother was on the other side praying. "What's wrong with you...?" She said between tears.

"Daddy's not... doing too well." He coughed. "They said my lungs are filling with liquid, and I'm at high risk for heart failure." He spoke slowly and softly so that he doesn't damage anything else. "They... said that if I just go.... it'll be easier than suffering." The girl sunk into the ground, symbolizing that she she felt as if she died by hesring the news. Without her knowledge, her body shook as she held his hand. Though she couldn't even tell where she was, she somehow knew that this was the last time she would ever see his face with life behind his eyes. "I just...- want you two to know, that I love you both more than you could imagine." The man squeezed the female's hands in unison, grabbing their attention. "I couldn't have asked for a better deal than what I had. A beautiful wife, who did everything she could to make me happy. And an amazing daughter who turned out to be the realest person I know." The family all began to cry together. "(Y/n), I know you're destined for great things, and I just hope that you live your life to the fullest. I hope you'll find someone who will love you.. and cherish you for the wonderful person that you are, and the astonishing woman will become." The girl stared at him as her vision blurred. "I love you both. And if you ever feel lonely, just know... I'll always be there, I'll always be with you." The mother burst out in hysterics as she screamed into the blanket that she loved him.

"I love you too, daddy..." (Y/n) said quietly as she tried to keep her composure. The dad smiled as he closed his eyes and rode out the pain. The heart rate monitor sputtered for a moment until the dad's face contorted in pain, then suddenly relaxed. The tone of the monitor suddenly dropped into the numbing monotonous note that didn't change. He had died in their hands. The continuous note haunted (Y/n)'s ears as she stared down at his lifeless form. The sobbing of her mother drowned out ad all she could hear was the ringing of her father's dead heart. She was shaken to the core, and her father was gone.

Flashback End-

"JASON!" The boy was taken out of his trance when his brother shook his shoulders. "What are we gonna do?!" Josh's voice was high and raspy from his tears. Jason stared blankly into his eyes. He didn't actually know what to do, these... were not the bodies he had thought he was going to see.

"I... dont know." he replied slowly only now did he realize he was shaking.

"What?! How do you not know?" He stared at his brother, but there was no response. "Theres gotta be something we can do, something to get them out of the house. Out of the way!" Josh frantically suggested. Without thinking, or replying, Jason began to take the bodies towards the stairs. "O-oh yea-h... we can put em in the backyard! M-mom barely goes out there." Josh prodeeced to take the other boy's body to the stairs. He struggled holding on, as he couldn't bear the smell. Jason hated the way it smelled, but he knew that there was nothing he could do except get them the fuck our of there. He examined their dead forms, and noticed that one of the young boy's mouth as in the process of being sewn shut, and the needle was still attached to his decaying skin. The realization slowly dawned on Jason, but he began connecting similarities between the two sets of twins.

"Josh... these kids look just like us." Jason's whole world was beginning to crumble, and this shocked him for some reason. Josh quickly looked at the kids once more and dropped the kids on the ground.

"Oh my god!" He screamed out and began to cry. "Oh my god Jason, you don't think... do you think that dad did this?" Jaosn was pulled back to reality as he felt relief wash over him. Josh didn't think it was him who did it.

"Jesus-fuck." Jason simply replied as he faked holding back throw up. It was as if something in his brain had been switched, and he was back to being in control of his feelings, even if he was still confused and scared. The two paused and Jason finally spoke, though it was more of an out loud thought that suddenly dawned on him. "Does that mean... does that mean dad wanted to kill us?" Josh widened his eyes as his head shot over to his brother, the sight shook him to his core. Jason was crying, actually crying.

Josh had rarely seen his brother cry, especially after he started taking the pills when they were younger. But he had always been the stronger one emotionally, and this had made Josh just about lose it. "Jason..." He inched toward his brother, but stopped when he saw the look in Jason's eyes.

"That... FUCKER!" Josh jumped at the sudden shift in tone. "AND I WAS THE CRAZY ONE?!" Jason reached into his pocket and pulled out the pills. "These stupid fucking... I CANT GET OFF THESE NOW, IT WOULD TAKE FOREVER." In his rage, Jason began to squeeze the bottle.

The top of the bottle popped off when Josh grabbed his arm. "Jason stop! He's gone and it's- it's alright to be need medication." Jason looked over to him to tell him to shut up, but it didn't help. "We don't have to see him ever again. We can tell mom, and she can do something-" Jason's eyes widened at the mention of telling his mother.

"No. If we tell her, she'll make us move. I can't do that yet, I have to finish school." Not only did he have two dead bodies of two random boys in front of him, but now he had to worry about Josh telling his mother and them somehow drawing police attention to his house. Not to mention he just killed 2 people recently.

Josh widened his eyes at his nonchalant attitude towards the literal dead children in front of them. "WHY ARE YOU CONCERNED ABOUT SCHOOL!? THERE ARE DEAD BODIES IN OUR BASEMENT." Josh slapped his brother across the face in hopes to smack some sense into him. Jason help his face and held back a chuckle.

"Smack me all you want, I'm not telling mom. Let's bury these kids and forget about it." Josh couldn't believe how he was acting. Jason ignored him and continued to drag the corpse in front of him. After watching him lug it up the stairs, Josh followed his brother and brought the kids up to the backyard. He told Josh it would be fine for now, and this if things were to get smelly he would handle it. Josh felt safe knowing he didn't have deal with it anymore, but he just wanted to get out of their presence, so he went to his room. As Jason went back to lock up the closet and check on the other bodies, his annoyance returned once he heard a scoff come from the corner of the room

"You're lucky I got here in time. Maybe you should be more careful, or learn to not be so reckless."
