~Flashback~
"I'm fine, leave already." The blonde male crossed his arms and glared in the direction of the female.
"I... Please I'm sure mom and dad will be home soon. I can wait-" The girl tried to reason with him but saw that she was failing.
"I said leave, Juliet!" Hector snapped as he balled his fists. The girl cowered down and backed away. He had been recovering from his beat down, though his memory was sort of hazy.
"O-ok, Hector.... I'll leave you alone." She walked out of the room and slowly closed his door. The door bell rang and she wiped away the tears that were threatening to fall down her cheek. She gathered her things and ran down the stairs.
"Hey, Juliet. Ready for the sleepover!?" Richie chuckled as he stepped out of the way for her to pass.
"Yeah.." Juliet replied with a sad undertone. She took one look towards her stairs. "I'll be back tomorrow, Hector."
There was a pause before she finally heard him yell. "Yeah. Have fun." Richie pucked up on the slight sarcasm, but Juliet smiled and walked towards the car, a large wave of dread swept over her as she set foot in the car, and her smile dropped. Richie shut her door and it slowly drained away. She took a seat next to Freddy in the car, and Jason began to drive away. She had one last look at her house before she was out of range.
Flashback end-
The two girls sat in the cell like caged dogs. (Y/n) sat still, trying not to make any sudden sound. She knew that escape was futile and that if she tried again, no good could come from it. Juliet shook in fear of what had happened to their friend. 'Is he dead? What did Jason do to him? Why didn't I try to stop him?! How stupid can I get?! I want to see him again. I want to hug him, I want to get out of this place. why did this have to happen? Why us?' she asked herself as she rocked in her spot. She was so scared of what was to happen. (Y/n) was equally as nervous, she felt responsible for all of this.
My eyes opened as my alarm started to ring. I slammed it off and got up from bed. I grabbed my clothes and headed for the bathroom. My eye was still bruised, and my leg still hurt like a bitch. I could barely walk but somehow it wasn't deep enough to damage the bone. I couldn't remember much, just that I was assulted by someone close to Juliet. I limped into the shower and cleaned myself off, often gasping at the burns from other cuts. After finishing I got dressed, brushed my teeth, and skipped on breakfast. My parents never showed up, so I drove to school. I figured that Juliet left early again, probably feeling guilty about what happened. I rolled my eyes at the thought, but I was a little concerned as she hadn't shown up all weekend. I pulled into the school parking lot. Teens were getting off buses and hanging around. My group of friends were standing near the entrance. I haven't been at school what with the 'accident' and then theweekend. I walked towards them and everyone perked up.

"Yo, Hector. What the hell happened to you?" Asked my friend Andrew.
"I uh... I got into a fight." I lied. I could tell they didnt believe me but we changed the subject and went off to class.
-
Math came around and I sat in my seat. The bell for class rang and I kept checking the door for any signs of (Y/n). "I guess Ms.(Y/n) is out today?" My teacher asked as he took attendance. "Ok guys, let's move on..." My teacher droned on. A few people turned towards the empty seat next to me. I decided to push it off and not question it. 'Maybe she's sick.' I figured and continued with the lesson.
-
Lunch rolled up and I made my way towards my table. All of my friends were goofing around and throwing food. I glanced over at the table my sister and (Y/n) sat and saw that no one was there, not even the boys. I started to get worried and took out my phone to text Juliet. "Who'ya texting? Your girlfriend?" My friends cooed.
"Actually, my sister?" I retorted and continued to text. I sent a message saying 'Hey are you ok? Why aren't you at school?' to both my sister, though I contemplated sending it to (Y/n). I Put my phone in pocket and tried to eat to get my mind off things. 'I guess I could see (Y/n) being sick, but where the hell is Juliet? both of them seemed fine when I last saw them.'
-
It was the end of the day and I walked to my car. "See ya tomorrow, man!" I yelled towards my friend Cameron as I sat in my car. I started it, but kept on wondering about where she could of gone. I drove home and began to zone out when I pulled into the driveway. I shut my door and made my way into the house, up the stairs, and into my bedroom. Once I sat down I realized I sat on something. Upon inspecting it, I found it to be Juliet's diary. I looked around, and opened it.
"I hope the sleepover goes well."
Was all that was written. I then realized something strange. "Wait a minute. Juliet lost her diary the day I got beaten up. How the fuck is this here-" I was about to finish my investigation when the doorbell rang. I took my phone and went to open it. My body ran cold and my vision blurred. The last thing I saw was blonde hair.
I sat in the cell and began to fall asleep. (Y/n) was passed out, she looked like she was haunted but somehow she managed to fall asleep. The door opened and my whole body shook as a person walked down the steps. I shuddered as Trevor slowly made his way down. He seemed to be focused, like he was on a mission. He opened the door and walked up to me. My heart pounded with fear, and possibly slight joy, as he stomped in my direction. (Y/n) woke up and stared up at him. He took out a book, It was my diary! He handed it to me, though I couldn't quite pick it up.

"How..." I trailed off as I stared down at the journal. He looked down at me and crouched. He began to undo the chains on my arms and leg as (Y/n) sat there in awe. "What are you doing?" I realized something wasn't right when he roughly grabbed me by the wrists."(Y/n)!" I screamed out and he began to drag my towards the stairs.
"NO TREVOR PLEASE STOP! DONT TAKE HER!" (Y/n) screamed as he forced me up the stairs. I felt weak seeing as he was so much larger than me. The screams faded as he shut the door.
"Please, Trevor. Let me go. I haven't done anything wrong, I swear." I cried as he forced me to move towards the back door. After trying so hard to break free I was pushed to the back. I was crying and I couldn't see well because my vision was blurred. He let go and I fell to the ground. I looked up and saw something that truly made me quake in fear.
"Juliet..?" The voice I had longed to hear the most.
"Hector!" I started to cry tears of joy. He stood up from his spot and started to cry with me. I got up too and cried harder when I saw him truly happy to see me. He looked more beat up, and like he was barely hanging on.
"I was getting so worried, Juliet." He laughed as he started to run to me. I ran closer and closer. Not even knowing that the world around us was spinning. I was inches away from him. I thought this nightmare was over and he was going to take me away. I could come back for (Y/n) somehow but my brother was going to save me from this hell.
I stopped dead in my tracks as my brother fell to the floor. The smile that was on my face, froze in its place. Whatever tears I had in my eyes fell, but I couldn't react any further. My whole system was not responsive. All my nerves died and my brain stopped. Hector was in the ground. The hole in his head was pouring out blood. I couldn't even turn around to see who it was. I fell to the ground, thought the smile was frozen on my face. "H-hector..." I paused for a responce, but to my dismay... I was met with silence. "Are you there? Hector? Please, listen to me. Hector? Please, talk to me. Hector! COME BACK." I shouted, although it wasn't a scream. I felt as if my voice had been taken from me altogether. "Hector please, Speak. You're still here, right? Right!? Hector. . . ." my eyes burned as tears kept falling out without my knowledge, the silence was deafening. All sounds drained out as my surroundings faded. A muffled noise of what I believe a gun cocking played in the background, though I just couldn't look away from my brother. "Come back. Dont leave me, again. I know you're not dead. Its fake. It's all a dream, right? You're gonna come and wake me up right now... Right?" I slowly made my way towards him as I collapsed to the floor. I grabbed his head, blood getting on my clothes, and held him close as I gazed down at his lifeless expeession. "Mom and dad are gonna make us pancakes with the funny looking faces on them. We'll drink apple juice and steal each other's bacon. We'll go back to the way we were." My tears were falling onto his face, mixing into the blood and making a plop sound on his glasses. "We'll be happy. You just have to wake up. You have to wake up. Please. Wake up. Come back. HECTOR!" I finally shrieked as I felt every atom in my body burn. Silence flooded my ears, though in my miserable state I heard one last thing; a gunshot.

Scorched - The Winter Winds (LitRPG)
Frank Ebner once wanted to save the world. Let the second one be better than the first. On Earth he was a student of... well it hardly matters anymore. It was dying, and he and the rest of his fellows and friends studying how to stave off the end graduated just in time to be told it was too late. That there was not enough time, funds, will, to stop it anymore. That the governments and the worthies of the world had moved from trying to stop it, to surviving the oncoming apocalypse, while blaming each other. That was a world Frank wanted nothing to do with. One riven by wars for places in the Archologies going up, and between them and the dying world they were leaving behind. So when a strange voice offered him a way out, to a world unmarred by the poison killing his? Frank took it. The voyage changed him, made him fit his new world, one of stats and magic. It came with perks, for in passing through their Heavens, they'd been exposed to Divinity, and taken some of the Celestial within them. Heroes now, but there are heroes, and there are Heroes. The nobility of the Empire care only for those who carry blessed bloodlines, and their time to adapt and train up for the new world is limited. Patrons are scarce among those like Frank, with only the base Hero perks, and magic studies expensive and lengthy. Often requiring heavy Oaths to gain the necessary aid to wield mana as a mage. Frank found another way. It nearly cost him his life. Now on the run and burned by the very magic he sought and craved, he is a pilgrim traveling to the The Eternal Tree, font of Perseverance. Frank hopes Ir-karlak will grant him some way to recover from the fires that scorched him. Without snuffing out the embers those fires lit within, for he has learned to harness them and he would not give up magic for the world. *** In the last 21 days, as I update this, I've managed about 18-19 updates. So Scorched should update most days, muse willing. She's fickle, sometimes. Not every day, but most. If there's an update for the day, it will be at 7PM, GMT+2. *[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Actually completed it. :) *
