"Trevor go play with the other children." The boy's father urged him towards the playground full of yelling children. The child refused and clung to the male's side. "Come on, let's see who he is!" The father pointed over to a blue boy. He wasn't dressed fancy like the other children and was playing by himself. Trevor stared at him with caution. Looking up to his father for consent, he smiled and nudged him over. He slowly made his way towards the boy who was currently in the sand box. He stood over him and looked down.

"Hello." The sitting boy looked up and marveled. The silent boy stood in his spot as he stared down. "I'm Richie. Who're you?" Finally sitting down, Trevor blankly stared at Richie.

"Trevor." He whispered. Richie smiled and stuck his hand out causing Trevor to flinch back.

"Nice to meet you, Trevor! I'm this many, how bout you?" The blue haired male proudly held up five fingers and smiled, some of his teeth were missing. Trevor held up six fingers and cracked the smallest smile. "Cool!! I've never met someone older then me! Do you go to school?" The blonde nodded. "Me too! I go to the one over there." Richie pointed in a direction and looked around. "My mommy and daddy are over there where's your mommy and daddy?" Richie smiled towards Trevor.

"My mommy isn't here." He whispered back. He looked at his father and pointed to him. He was a silly looking blonde male. Bright yellow eyes with a hint of green, a plaid shirt with a jacket to compliment the color of red and black. He had a small, scruffy, patch of hair that covered his lower jaw. Richie cocked his head to the side like a puppy.

"Whaduya mean your mommy's gone? Everyone has a mommy!" Richie giggled. Trevor shrugged and looked down. "Hey, let's go ask my mommy and daddy what happened to your mommy! Maybe they know!" The boy leaped up and grabbed Trevor's hand. He giggled as he skipped towards the couple. "MOMMY! DADDY! Look at my new friend!" Richie beamed. The two adults smiled and welcomed the boy.

"Oh thats wonderful honey! What's his name?" Richie's mother softly replied and leaned forward.

"His names Trevor. He doesn't talk. He says his mommy isn't here, what does he mean?"

"Oh... Well, sometimes a mommy and a daddy separate, just for a little, but that little could turn into a long time. It doesnt mean they dont still care for each other! They just, need space." She tried her best to explain it to the two small children.

"Oh. Its ok Trevor! I'm sure your mommy still loves your daddy. Let's go see him!" Richie pulled the quiet boys arm away and headed towards the boy's father. As they approached, Trevor's dad sat up and chuckled.

"See, I told you that you would make friends, Bud!" He smiled.

"Hello! I'm Richie! Trevor is really cool. He says his mommy isn't around but I'm sure she still loves you, thats what my mommy said." Richie laughed. The father's eyes widened at the statement and looked over to the couple that the child pointed to. They nervously smiled and mouthed the words 'sorry'. He looked back and sadly laughed.

"I'm sure she does. Listen you two go play for a little longer ok? I'll be right here." The two left and sat in the sandbox.

"I like the color blue. My parents said its cause a my hair. My mom said I could dye it all I want cause she got this blue stuff for my hair! Its so cool. Your hair Is nice too. Natural Colors usually pop out more, but I like blue cause blue's my favorite color!" The boy spoke on while the other quietly listened, silently enjoying the presence of someone other than the silence that takes over his home. "You don't talk a lot." He snapped into reality when Richie became a bit more serious than he was. "Why don't you talk? I mean, talking is fun! You get to say stuff and talk about stuff that you don't have to talk about with someone other than your brain."

"My daddy says that being loud is a bad thing." he spoke softly but loud enough for Richie to hear.

"I'm always loud. My big brothers tell me that all the time, but I don't listen cause I can't help it. I just talk and talk until I fall asleep or something. I don't mind you being silent. Its nice to have someone listen. I like you. You seem really calm, someone I need. Or so my brothers say." Richie starts to focus on the sand after taking a minute to breath. Trevor watched as he made a castle. "Wanna help? Its easy, you just put sand on it then pat it until its hard." Richie demonstrated and Trevor followed. The two played in the sandbox for what felt like an eternity to them. Laughing, talking, even though Richie was the only one doing it, he didnt mind. He finally had someone to listen, and Trevor had someone to talk to.

Present-

"Thanks for the ride!" I smiled out as (Y/n) waved goodbye. I looked over to Freddy who was starting to walk away. Turning around, I realised that I needed to talk to Trevor. I ran to his house and banged on his door. "Trevor! Please open up, it's Richie!" He didnt respond and I bacame anxious. "Trevooor!"

Past-

The two preteens rushed through the hallways of the school. "Come on!" Richie yelled as he pulled Trevor by the arm. They turned the corner and skid into a closet. Trevor covered Richie's mouth to silence his breathing as Vice principles rushed by the door. Richie calmed down and Trevor removed his hand. "That was so close!" The excited boy bounced in his spot. "The thrill of almost getting caught. Its like being on a rollercoaster." Trevor nodded in agreement as a smile slowly began its way to form. "They'll never find us in here, though. We're too clev-" As the boy was reveling in his clever getaway, Trevor quickly covered his mouth once more as the teachers walked by. Richie looked over to Trevor and nodded.

The two often got into trouble, most of the time they weren't caught. They would throw firecrackers into the bathrooms, or paint on the walls, anything to push the staffs buttons. Richie loved the thrill and Trevor was along for the ride.

The boys waited until the bell rang before they made their move. Dashing through the halls, they made their way out of the school and on their way home. "Let's go to your house. Mines... still not fixed yet." Richie lied as he put on a fake smile. Trevor knew and finally had enough.

"No. Your house today." He demanded and started to pull Richie towards the direction he lived.

"Trevor no! My house is under construction! My family isn't there." He shot out lies like he was a gun. Trevor had learned where he lived by the directions he would always tell him. As they arrived in the neighborhood Richie became more and more nervous at how Trevor would react. The blonde continued to pull the boy as he found where his house was. "Oh god... Why Trevor? I don't want to go to my house!" Richie whined as the boy in question knocked on the door. Suddenly it flew open with a tall male staring down at the two.

"Richie who the hell is this?" Asked the older male, he had muted blue hair and a slender frame.

"Hes my friend! He wanted to come over here instead of his house..." Richie slumped down and gave into the boys grasp.

"Fine... But don't go in my room or I'll kill you." The tall boy walked away, leaving the smaller boys to look at each other. Trevor pulled Richie into the house as he tried to resist.

"I dont have a room!" Richie blurred out. This made Trevor stop in his tracks.

"So?" Trevor cocked his head a tad and stared at Richie.

"W-we dont have anything to do! Thats why we should go your house!"

"I like your house." Richie's eyes widened as Trevor pulled him towards what looked like a couch.

"Wait wait Trevor, I do have a room... Its just not big. We can go there." After confirming, Richie walked up the stairs and turned the corner into his room. Trevir spotted another boy in the room right next to Richie's. He had darker blue hair and a rude face. He looked the kid and squinted in confusion as he walked into Richie's room. The two talked about everything, mostly Richie spoke, that day. "You can't tell anyone this; I once kissed a girl and she asked me to kiss her neck." Richie was smiling As Trevor raised his eyebrows. "I didn't do it of course, I didn't want to...Now tell me a secret of yours."

"I once drove my fathers car into a pool because I wanted to feel like an adult." Trevor quietly participated.

"Jeez! I've never driven before.... Wait here's another, my brother let's me smoke with him sometimes." Trevor's eyes widened a bit at the statement. "And I don't mean cigarettes" Richie smirked. Trevor sat in contemplation over what he could say to top that.

"When I was younger, my mom would hit and abuse me. She even does it now... when she's home." Trevor looked over in triumph but was met with a horrified face. His face fell asleep soon as he looked at his friend's and knew he messed up.

"What..." Richie was shaken to the core. 'Is that why he never talks? She beats him? What kind of mother would do that?!' Trevor sat in silence as Richie stared at the boy. "Trevor... That's not ok. Is that why she wasn't with you that day when we first met? Was she still around to hurt you?"

"She- no- ye-" Trevor started to crack. He was so scared he would lose his only friend. 'What will he think of me? Does he think... I'm a wimp?'

"Trevor please you have to speak to me. Just calm down, nothings the matter ok. This is a safe place I promise." Richie leaned over and grabbed his shoulders. His face was the so serious that Trevor couldn't recognize him for a second. "Trevor please. Talk to me."

"I- When we first met she was out of the house so often I thought she left. She's still around but recently she's been leaving the house more than usual and my dad said she was going to be leaving for a while. She was really bad until I hit 3rd grade, but she's doesn't do it as often now. I found out that she was always drunk and thats why she beat me. Its why my father told me to always be quiet. He was abused as well. I didnt tell you because we just met and I never told you after because I thought you would think of me as a wimp." Trevor looked down and cried. Richie sat in shock not only for the description, but because he's never heard Trevor speak so much. He realized that he's never seen him cry before.

"A wimp...?" Richie pushed his head back so that he could look at him face to face. "Trevor I wouldn't think your a wimp. Its awful what your mother did... and does. I'm so sorry for you." Richie pulled the teary eyed boy in for a hug and they sat like that for a few minutes. "Your secret is safe with me... and so we're even... I can tell the last secret." the two sadly chuckled. "Well, I've never told anyone this, but I think I like girls and boys..." Richie closed his eyes for a moment, but opened to see Trevor with a small smile on his face. "See, we're even! I thought you would make fun of me..."

"Never." Trevor smiled wider than he thought was possible.

"Thank you. Best friends forever now!" Richie changed his tone and laughed.

Present-

I stood at the door and tried to listen for any movement in the house. Surprisingly the door was still in tact. All of a sudden I heard the clacking of heels and the door swung open. "TREVOR-" I began to scream when I saw an unfamiliar women open the door. "You're not Trevor..."
