《A Melissa x Midoriya Fic》31 - History Assignment

I wake up in Melissa's room, and she's playing with my hair, "Mornin' Sunshine." "Morning Melissa, I gotta head to my dorm so I won't be late," I say getting up. Melissa then hugs me into her breasts and I get up very confused. "Why do you keep doing this? Always hugging me into your breasts? It's been weird and if people saw, they'd cringe into last week," I say standing up and grabbing my jacket. "... It's just, if we end up spending our lives together, we won't be seeing each other much. You'll be at your agency all the time and I'll be at my job. And when we get back, I'll make dinner, which I'm completely fine with, we'll eat and then sleep. I just want to get it out of the way before that happens," she says starting to tear up, for some reason. I hug her and tell her, "Then I guess it's okay. But I gotta go." I kiss her forehead and jump out the window and Black Whip myself to my dorm without her notice.
We were about half way through Midnight's class, Modern Hero Arts History, and she puts her stuff away. Everyone was confused until she started writing on the board. She finishes writing and turns around to elaborate, "Okay, as you can see, though this is a hero modern arts history, it's still hero and history. So this major assignment will be a hero from way, and I mean way back then. It can be a hero that's well known, it can not, it can be a hero that's in your family, it can not. It just has to be from before the 1950's, because I want it to be from that far. You kids need to learn, some of you are slipping." Several of my classmates either groan or jolt up, and I say 'jolt up' because Kaminari looks like he's had a eureka moment that you see in movies. "Okay, you can start your research once I pass out the syllabus, it'll be due on the first," Midnight finishes as she passes the papers to Iida, who passes out the papers.
We look at the syllabus and start researching, and I planned on researching one of the previous users but I couldn't figure out which one to do. It was between the 4th or 5th users, but I decided on Lariat, the 5th user. Before I could start the research, lunch started and we all left for the lunch room. As we were leaving, Iida, Uraraka, Todorki, Tsu, and I, we run into a few of class 1-B's members. "Hey class B, how's it-" "I see you 5 are barely-" Monoma interrupts me before getting punched in the face by a guy in a hat wearing a uniform. Everyone gasps and he wipes the bit of blood on his jacket and walks off. "Sorry, that's one of the new kids in class, he's a good guy, just not half the time," Kendo says with hints of awkward. "And Kodai has a crush on him, shroom!" Komori yelps while Kodai walks away flustered. The 5 of us are crazily confused and just walked away awkwardly.

"That was more awkward than my brothers reuniting, at least that had a happy ending," Todoroki says eating. "Agreed, but going away from that, who are you doing your assignment about?" Iida askes while not chopping the air, for once. "I'm writing about a hero named Lariat," I say enjoying my katsudon. "Never heard of him, and I still don't know who I'm writing about. The oldest hero I know was born in 1951, how inconvenient," Uraraka says while puffing her cheeks in frustration. "I'll probably just grab a random hero online and go with the flow, like most people," Todoroki says continuing to eat. "Originally I was going to do a previous Ingenium, but like Uraraka, my grandparents were born in the wrong time. So I will go the same route as Todoroki and find a random hero online," Iida says chopping the air before eating a stew. "I still don't know who to do, ribbit," Tsu says putting her finger to her chin.
Midnight walks into the room with her grade books and other materials before talking, "Okay, I kept a little secret from y'all. You'll be presenting your essays, ha!" Everyone is flabbergasted () as she just giggles evilly. "Okay~ who's first?" she askes as she sits down with her legs crossed and grade book laying on her calf. () Kaminari's hand shoots up and he walks to the front of the room. "Okay, I did my report on one of my grandpas, I forgot how many 'greats'. He was the first ever No.1 hero and is the reason being a hero is a job," Kaminari states before looking at his report.
*
'My grandfather was called Thunderbird, and as I mentioned, he was the reason heroing is a job'. I was very poor and mostly wore a raggedy robe and sandals, and like most poor people in a school, I was bullied. Though, I could careless, because my ability was, a rare ability to shoot lightning from my hands. And with my ability, I was one of the best vigilantes during the night and days without school. Since my parents knew, they helped make my suit. Since we were poor, we just made a black jumpsuit, used yellow blankets as a cape and gloves, and a belt with a lightning bolt around most of the hips. And I even got a small following, but this gave me an idea in my early twenties, along with something else around that time.

'When he was around 23, one of his friends got a high ranked government job, which was the start to the hero business'. I talked to my friend saying I was poor and that there were tons of 'heroes' and he stopped me telling me to say no more. He walked in and I left, but I was met with a guy with red hair put into a spikey pony-tail wearing a ninja-like costume with a bullet proof vest () and half-gears on his shoulders. He said he had something that would change my life forever.
'He never said what happened with that guy, but everyone says it has something to with him making heroes a job'. I walked into an alley and he said he needed to give me his power. He told me a story about a guy who's brother gave him a power that combined with his other power, gave it to someone, died, and that person gave it to him and then died, and he needed to pass it on to me because the first guy's brother was after him. I thought for a second but then he started to beg saying something along the lines of my ability should be strong enough to stop him, and the strength may have stockpiled enough so I could be strong enough to beat All for One. I agreed and he made me drink some of his blood and I gained the ability One for All.
'I over the next few years, the negotiations of whether heroes should be jobs or illegal.' Eventually, being a hero was a job, and I was even the first to become one. Thunderbird was the first hero to truly appear, and was even given the top spot of all the other heroes that started appearing in the following years. But around my late 30's, what I was waiting for happened, All for One appearing. His glare made me shake in my boots, but before the fight, I had to find my successor before battling. I remember seeing a bald vigilante that was really good with a crappy quirk. Once I found him, I told him the story and dropped to my knees begging. He gave up and agreed, to which I gave him a small veil of blood, to which he drank.
I ran back to All for One and started the fight. I sent several bolts of lightning that were focused onto his electromagnetic signal in a move I call,. In the whole battle, I was losing, even when I summoned a storm to super-charge myself and used a move I call. But in the end, I wasn't strong enough to beat him. I even saw the young hero that is my successor looking at me with sorrow in my final moments. I shot him a smile and a finger gun at him before being crushed by a fist. 'In that final battle, my grandfather died but also set the world into a new era of heroes.'
"And that's the end of my report. This story has been passed down through my father's side of the family, but none were heroes after that point because of the tragic death," Kaminari said while sitting down. Everyone else got their reports done, except for Mina, she's apparently been slacking in her studies, even with Momo's help.
I go into Melissa's dorm and she's working on homework. I sneak up behind her and give her a quick scare, to which she yelps. She looks behind her and quickly gives me a hug, a regular one at that. "If you're wondering, I'll be holding back on it. And I'm working on an assignment for Mr. Power-Loader. He's making us do some form of attack drone, dunno why," she said releasing the hug and going back to work. "Okay, I'll be doing my homework on your bed if you need me," I say kissing the top of your head. "You know, it's been a while since we went on a date. Think we can go on one anytime soon?" she askes tinkering a bit before spinning around. "Sure, I'm free tomorrow night. I got a lot of homework to do and knowing you, you'll distract me somehow," I reply and sharing a laugh with her.
