《Please Stay[Stray Kids × Reader]》[Chapter 29] The Truth?

I woke up in a really dark place.
"Hello...?" My voice echoed. No answer.
My wrists had rope wrapped around them and were raised to a level higher than my head. I hung from a pole and the distance between my feet and the ground was probably at least half a meter away. Both my feet were tied together. I struggled to break through.
"Oh? Are you awake already?" Footsteps, moving closer towards me. Thanks to the darkness, it was hard to tell which direction the sound came from.
"..."
"You don't plan on talking?" He said. The lights suddenly turned on and it blinded me for a few seconds. All I could see was his silhouette until my eyes finally adjusted to the environment.
We were in the middle of an old and dusty room. A window in the left and a door in the right. There were a few chairs and carboard boxes, nothing more.
The man wore a white mask that covered his whole face. His clothes were black. He had a tall figure and his hair was blonde. Slowly making his way towards me, he took out a gun from his pocket.
A bead of sweat dripped down from my face and I felt my body grow cold. I started shaking. I wanted to break free and run but my body didn't listen and just froze still.
"Who are you...?"
With the gun still pointed at me, he moved his other hand on the mask and pulled it away.
"Ha Min Teuk" He titled his head and smiled. It was one of the creepiest and most disturbing smiles I have ever seen.
"...tch.." I scoffed.
"Oh? That wasn't the reaction I wanted... How disappointing..." His smile immediately disappeared.
I was surprised, I just didn't know how to react.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked him.
"You should already know by now. Revenge." He pulled a chair nearby and sat down.
"You're being dramatic" I replied.
"What's wrong with revenge? You already know the story, right? My mother died because of yours, it's simple."
"You know, you're the stereotypical stuck-up on the past, revengeful, and jerkish antagonist with a half-assed reason." I glared at him. He gave a hollow chuckle.
"Is that so? Then you're the usual stupid, naive, gullible, fragile, and protagonist" he shot a glare at back at me. Tch.
"Shut your mouth, sir." The door busted open and Hyun Tae walked in. He ran to me and untied my hands and feet.
"Are you okay?" He looked at me with worry. I smiled at him and nodded.
"WHAT are you expecting me to do? Watch your touching sibling reunion? HA!" Teuk directed the gun towards us and pulled the trigger. "
BANG! The bullet landed on the wall behind us.
"Oops, I missed." He sighed. The bullet landed on the wall behind us. My ears started to ring and hurt from the loud gunshot for a while.
"We did nothing to you! Why--" Hyun Tae shouted and grabbed my hand.
BANG! He shot at the window.
"Because of what your mother did to mine." Teuk pointed the gun at us once again, face blank. "And how you're both living your lives like any normal person would, how you're BOTH unaffected."
"What are you trying to say?" I asked from behind my brother.
Min Teuk cocked his head "Oh? Don't you know how my mom died? How she was killed by Lee Yun--" He reloaded the gun.
"What did she do?! MOTHER DIED BECAUSE OF YOURS, NOT VICE VERSA!" Hyun Tae's grip on my wrist tightened.

"LIES!" He seethed while gritting his teeth. Then, he pointed an accusing finger at us "Your mother pushed mine off a building! I saw it, even, with my own two eyes when I was a kid!" Teuk exclaimed.
BANG! This time it was on the floor, a few inches away from us.
"My mother wanted to comfort Lee Yun Ji because she knew that your mother was suffering from the rumors in the internet! She only had good intentions but even so... she got pushed off the building!" He continued.
What?
Another hollow chuckle "Do you even know what I went through? Because of the LIES made up after? NO ONE believed me."
BANG! He directed the gun towards a corner.
"Since Lee Yun Ji is dead, her children need to pay for what she did!" He added with the smile I saw earlier.
We remained silent.
"Do you understand now? All those incidents that have been happening to you were all for my mother!" He inched closer.
"You weren't the only one whose family member died. " I replied. He stopped.
"You weren't the only one who suffered from that incident." Hyun Tae added.
"But even so, we never thought of revenge on your mother" I finished.
"Why would you want revenge on my mother? That makes no sense!" Teuk snapped back with obvious annoyance in his tone.
"The rumors that made our mother suffer was because Ha Si Eun started them. You didn't know that, right?" Hyun Tae answered.
"LIES! MORE LIES"
"You said that you saw our mother push Ha Si Eun with your own two eyes? Are you sure you remember the incident accurately? You said it yourself, when you were a kid."
"SHUT UP!"
BANG!
My ears started ringing so much and everything went pitch black.
I felt arms tightly wrapped around me...
Hyun Tae didn't move

Legends rise. Country’s fall. Empires wage war. But what supports these great powers, allowing them to function as a single organism. Is it the common man, Farmers and Millers forming the backbone of the land? The Soldiers and Guards keeping public order? The Wives and Widows supporting from the side-lines? The Nobles from their seats of power? Or the elusive Sorcerers who wield power untold? And what maggots crawl in this great creature, all trying to get a piece of its slowly decaying flesh. The gangs of the Underworld hidden in the shadows? The Bandits and Deserters hiding at the edges, ready to pounce on any weakness? Witches and Warlocks working their dark art? Or other Nations clawing at their neighbour’s, salivating over the riches they stand to gain from another’s demise. There is one group that belongs to neither group. They thrive on others misfortune and bring with them salvation and destruction in equal measure. They can raise a kingdom up or tear it down screaming and kicking. These are the merchants, the lifeblood of kingdoms, because what is the one thing above all else men crave. Is it Love? Power? Destruction? All these things can be acquired with one simple thing. Wealth. Wealth is the true power behind the world. Wealth can buy army’s, strangle kingdoms, and turn even the most devout man from his faith. He works not for profit but for some unseen goal, a prophesy aeons old. He comes and goes like a ghost, bringing with him hope and victory. All pray for his arrival to spare them from despair. But what about when he doesn’t show? What about the people he doesn’t save? For this man is no angel, no saint sent to save the masses. His goal was never to deliver hope. It merely isn’t time for their destruction yet. For nothing is eternal. And all things must end. But what comes after?
