I walked back to my classroom, blood still pounding from the ride. Dolores had finally agreed to officially splitting the classes. I smiled as I pushed open the door.
"Whoa professor looking good there," George commented,
"Yeah! You've got that windswept hair look down!" Fred added
"I had an exciting first block," I waved them off before looking around and calling the class to order, clapping my hands together,
"Alright what did you read about last time with Umbridge?" I asked causing Fred and Goerge to sit up straighter, as there was silence, finally a Ravenclaw cracked,
"Fred and Goerge pranked Umbridge so we never got a chance to read anything," they blurted out and I groaned my smile fading, the class stilled, Fred and Goerge exchanging looks,
"Alright look, I don't like to write up lesson plans, or bother reading hundreds of words on a page, I don't even like read D-Umbridge's guided notes about the chapter and what you need to do." I explained looking up, "So if you are going to fool around in her class, at least make sure you know what we're doing before you get here,"
I looked around, "Because if you don't, we'll have to spend the rest of the block doing what you should've done last block," the groans started and people started to through things at the twins I laughed and held up my hands,
"Look I have like 3 back up lessons I was planning to slip in- I'll let you decide when we use them as a class," I said causing the class to perk up and nod. I smiled,
"Hands if you think we should use one of the three today instead of reading the chapter?"

Everyone's hands shot up and I smiled, my eyes sparking again.
"Alright, Lissy," I said calling to the Ravenclaw who had spoken up earlier, "Say 'accio swords'" I instructed, eyes widening as some released what I was doing. Lissy beamed,
"Accio Swords!" She called and at least twenty swords came shooting out of my office. When she released their trajectory, she shrieked and ducked beneath her desk but I easily caught them as they passed, then in my best Umbridge impression I stuck up my nose,
"Desk's away," I said, causing the class to laugh and start to push their desks against the wall. I carefully handed each sword to a student presenting their name as I did.
The students left the class sweaty, but smiling and chatting excitedly.
Rumors flew throughout the halls as every class was soon asking for a sword lesson. I told them the deal, some classes claimed all three in a row, others spread it out, and others decided to save it for a truly horrid work period. I smiled at the kids as I ate dinner, leaning over to Snape,
"What do you say about giving the students a special demonstration?" he asked and I looked up surprised
"You sure?" I asked shocked
"Oh? You think don't think I could keep up?" He drawled drawing some attention, I laughed at his antics, alright, so we're doing this
"I guess I just don't want to hurt you know," I said projecting my voice a bit louder,
"You've been out of the game for a while, I think you're a little rusty" he smirked,
"You've been out of it longer, not hiding behind a stick today Sevy?" I taunted
"Oh, please I'd never forget anything,"
"You got a weapon to back up those words?" I growled slightly, not really mad just the usual banter the entire hall was quiet now, and those who weren't became quiet when Snape pulled out a dagger from his robes, grinning wickedly, I grinned back,

"What'd about you Water Boy?" he asked causing me to roll my eyes and vault over the teachers table- Snape shrugged off his robes (he had clothes on underneath, chill y'all) and followed, dagger in hand. I grinned as he sank into a roman stance,
"You going to attack or what?" I yawned in a faux lax stance.
He gritted his teeth and thrust, I grinned narrowly dodging, grabbing his arm,
"You're going to have to try harder than that," I taunted bringing his arm behind him and shoving him slightly,
"Oh yeah? What about this?" a voice sounded behind me and my eyes widening
I ducked, bringing up riptide as I narrowly avoided Ivlius' sword form from chopping my head off.
"Jason! It's good to see you man!" I laughed quickly parrying a strike from Jason and tossing Severus into him, getting me out of in between them Jason grinned using a bit of wind to blow him forward,
"Cheater" I mumbled,
"Good to see you too Perc, people were starting to bet on your death again," he said driving me into the Gryffindor table,
"Need this, sorry," I said grabbing a glace of water and throwing it- glass and all- at Jason as I hopped over the table and blocked another sneak attack from Severus, Jason laughed as he easily caught the glass, but some got on him, I grinned and willed it to move his arm just enough to the right as he jumped, he slipped and slammed head first onto the table, just as I got Severus' knife, and holding it to his throat I held riptide to the back of Jason's neck, Jason raised his hands in surrender making eye contact with Severus,
"It was worth a shot," Severus claimed and I laughed lowering the blades and helping Jason to his feet,
"That was a cheap trick," he muttered as we hugged,
"So was yours" I responded handing Severus back his knife,
"It needs to be sharpened," I said as I did, but he just shrugged,
"I'll just poke harder," he drawled going back up to the teachers stand,
"Come on man lets catch up- how are things back home?" I asked leading Jason out of the great hall, completely ignoring the thunderous applause that followed.

Out of an unnaturally quiet night, a bedraggled woman in noble finery requests access to the southern capital. Who she is has been lost to time for most, but her continued existence will throw everything further out of balance. Janurana had barely survived her royal house's destruction at the hands of foreign invaders, surviving day by day in the scattered pocket forests and arid shrub lands, constantly escaping the ghosts of her past. The south has barely survived their recent Pyrrhic victory against the north immediately followed by a coup. The north is bloodied but unbowed, on the brink of civil war, but still ready to take up arms against the southern invaders. The leaders of the south cannot afford another obstacle. And Janurana is just that. Yet her chance meeting with a woman expelled from the warrior class named Dhanur gives them both a chance to avenge the ones they loved, finish what they failed to do, and return to a normal life. *** Set in a fantasized bronze age India featuring LGBT female leads. Told in an omniscient pov with glances into multiple characters. This is my first book even if I've been working on it for a while but I hope you can all still find some enjoyment and take a break from everything happening in the world. Remember to work on your dreams. :)
