《Betrayed|A Perthena Story》ii-The Garden

Percy walked around Olympus quietly crying. He found a garden and sat down at the base of a tree. He buried his head in his arms and cried.

"What are you doing here?" a familiar voice asked. Percy looked up to see Athena.

"Lady Athena!" Percy stood up.

"No need for formalities with me," Athena said.

"What- what'd I do?" Percy asked.

Athena laughed a short, musical laugh,"You did nothing, Perseus."

"Please call me Percy," Percy said.

"What's wrong?" Athena asked Percy sitting down next to him. He sat next to her and explained everything.

"That- I can't believe her!" Athena said.

"You seem to care all of a sudden," Percy said.

"You are very respected by the gods- even Artemis," Athena said.

"I'm gonna die tomorrow," Percy said.

"No, your not," Athena reassured him.

"How do you know?" Percy asked.

"I'm coming with you," Athena said. Percy's eyebrows scrunched together in confusion.

Athena smiled.

"I need to talk to Artemis," Athena said.

"Got it," Percy nodded.

They sat there in comfortable silence.

She couldn't get the butterflies in her stomach to go away. She resisted the urge to hold Percy's hand.

The true reason why Athena had sent Percy on the quests was for her to accept the fact that Percy was in love with Annabeth and not her.

She stood up,"I should leave." She walked away.

She closed the door to her temple behind her, unaware that she was being followed.

Athena walked into her room and picked up her guitar.

She started playing 'All of Me' by John Legend.

What would I do without your smart mouth

Athena remembered Percy smart mouthing the gods

Drawing me in and kicking me out

You've got my head spinnin'

She had so many questions that she couldn't ask him

No kidding, I can't pin you down

What's going on in that beautiful mind

She never knew what Percy was going to do next

I'm on your magical mystery ride

And I'm so dizzy

Don't know what hit me

But I'll be alright

My head's underwater, but I'm breathing fine

You're crazy and I'm out of my mind

'Cause all of me loves all of you

Athena remembered how Percy would smile when Annabeth was around

Love your curves and all your edges

All your perfect imperfections

Give your all to me, I'll give my all to you

You're my end and my beginning

Even when I loose, I'm winning

'Cause I give you all of me

And you give me all you-

Percy started singing:

How many times do I have to tell you?

Even when you're crying, you're beautiful too

The world is beating you down, I'm around

Through every mood

You're my downfall, you're my muse

My worst distraction, my rhythm and blues

I can't stop singing, it's ringing

In my head for you

My head's under water, but I'm breathin' fine

You're crazy and I'm out of my mind

'Cause all of me

Loves all of you

Athena wondered if he really loved her or was just singing along

Love your curves and all your edges

All your perfect imperfections

Give your all to me

Percy held out his hand for her to dance with her

I'll give my all to you

You're my end and my beginnin'

Even when I lose, I'm winnin'

'Cause I give you all of me

And you give me all of you, oh-oh

Give me all of you, oh

Cards on the table, we're both showing hearts

Risking it all, though it's hard

Athena started to sing along with Percy as he spun her:

'Cause all of me

Loves all of you

Love your curves and all your edges

All your perfect imperfections

Give your all to me

I'll give my all to you

You're my end and my beginnin'

Even when I lose, I'm winnin'

'Cause I give you all of me

And you give me all of you

I give you all of me

And you give me all of you, oh-oh

They ended that dance with their faces centimeters apart.

Athena just stared at Percy and got lost in his eyes.

Percy started to lean in and Athena had to control herself. She could not let him do this so soon after a breakup.

Then someone cleared their throat from the doorway. Percy jumped back and Athena looked to see who it was.

"Perthena!" Aphrodite squealed and ran off.

"It's getting late," Athena said turning away from Percy,"You should go back to camp for the night."

"I can't go back there," Percy said.

"Why not?"

"Your daughter," Percy said.

Athena nodded in understanding,"You can sleep in the guest room. You will not come in here unless if Aphrodite attacks you."

Percy nodded and walked out.
