《Desolate (Klaus Mikaelson)》Wolfiness

I stand in the french quarter uncomfortably, knowing only Klaus a I remain glued to his hip. He refuses to let me out of his sight under the chance that I might run away again.
The man, who I have now learned to be named Marcel, boasts to Klaus about his vampire feeding programme, making me feel even more uncomfortable.
"Then, at the stroke of midnight, everything changes, and it's time to feed." Marcel says, proud of his idea. Silently, as Marcel smirks, the two of us are led to a balcony that over looks everything. Below us, hands full of vampires feed on humans that scream in terror as I bury my head into Klaus' shoulder, trying to dispel the image from my mind. Comfortingly, he places a hand on the back of my head, holding me close to him.
"This is how I keep my guys happy: the occasional, all-you-can-eat buffet. My night-walkers love it. I've got 'em working hard, trying to earn one of these daylight rings. They deserve to blow off a little steam. My day-walkers, the trusted few – they just like the party." He says casually, making me gag harder internally.I scrunch my face up in disgust, thankful that my face is hidden by Klaus.
" It's quite an operation. Tell me – what about the victims? Seems like a lot of graves to dig." Klaus says, moving his other hand up and down my back in circle like movements.
"Can't kill 'em all. Too many folks go missing, tourism drops. So, we heal them with a little vamp blood, erase their memory, send them on their way – no muss, no fuss." Marcel says, self pride wafting from him strongly.
"I'm impressed,""That's horrible."Klaus and I say in sync.
Marcel smirks at the two of us. "Oh- you got yourself a sympathiser?"He asks Klaus, curiously.
"No-" Klaus sighs,"I got myself an Evie, hole new level to everything." He trails off.
"Marcel" A vampire says, approaching the three of us. I pull my face away from Klaus's shoulder slightly, he keeps a hand on my back as I stare any where but below me.
"Sup, Thierry?" He replies, the name reminding me of the cute brother in Alvin and the chipmunks.
"Six of our guys were killed in a bar outside of the Quarter. Night-walkers. No one saw who." Klaus rolls his eyes as I smirk, already knowing who it is...

I lean over to open my car door as we pull up in front of the most recent Mikaelson mansion. I pull on the door, when it doesn't open, I realise that it has been locked. I turn to Klaus, raising my eyebrows as he shrugs from the drivers seat.
"Is there a reason you locked the door?"I ask, to which he just shrugs again. I sigh, leaning over him to unlock the doors. Just as my fingers are about to make contact with the button, a hand flies out, grabbing my wrist in a secure lock and bringing my hand to his mouth, placing kisses on my knuckles. When he is done, he holds my hand and places it in his lap, turning to look at me.
"Evie, we need to talk." Klaus says, a serious, sad expression on his face, I stare back at him blankly. He takes my silence as his cue to continue speaking.
"I'm sorry I killed your Mother."He says, his voice sounding honest. "Your so different to them, I-I forgot you were related." He looks down, allowing a silence to fill the car before staring directly into my eyes.

"I understand if you want to leave me." For a few minutes, I stare at him blankly, searching his face for anything I had missed, but all it shows is pain. I allow a few more moments to pass. Sighing, he turns to unlock the car before I make my decision. Not caring whether I made the wrong one, I turn his head back around, forcing my lips onto his. At first, I know that I have taken him by surprise as he slowly starts to kiss back. My eyes already closed, I feel his teeth tugging at my bottom lip, asking for entrance as I oblige, allowing his tongue to explore my mouth. When we pull apart, I press the lock off, opening my door and stepping out, leaving a dazed Klaus to follow behind me.
Upon entry, we hear a colourful string of curse words and yelling, leading us to the correct room.
"Enough with all the shouting. Little sister, I should have known. I assume the six dead vampires were your doing?"He asks, momentarily shutting her up.
"They were being rude." She defends herself, smiling as we embrace each other in a hug."Trying to victimise a poor, innocent girl just trying to find her way to the Quarter. So sorry, were they friends of yours? Oh, that's right, you don't have any friends."
" I do have friends. I have Marcel. You remember him, don't you? Yes, of course you do. He fancies himself the 'King of the Quarter' now, and he has these rules about killing vampires. It'll be fun to see what sort of punishment he comes up with for you." He continues, his eyes constantly flickering to me in desperation... Someone wants a private talk.
" I don't care about Marcel or his rules. Elijah doesn't welch on deals. What did you do to him?" She presses further.
"Perhaps he's on holiday... or taking a long autumn nap upstairs. Well, go on. Take a look around. You remember this house as well as I." As she leaves the room, I try to as well before a strong hand pulls me back to the couch. I sigh.
"Does that mean I'm forgiven?" He asks, hopefully.
"Does what mean you're forgiven?" I ask, playing dumb.
He raises his eyebrows at me. "No it does not mean you're forgiven." I state, watching as his eyebrows furrow in confusion. "Just because I have chosen to stay with you, doesn't mean that you are forgiven." I clear it up for him. He opens his mouth to speak before I cut him off.
"Would you forgive me straight away if I killed your M- OK bad example." I sigh, slumping my shoulders in annoyance. Klaus's arms wrap around me, holding me close to him. "It's alright Evie..." He says, letting me cry into his shirt, a clear show of my pregnancy hormones.
"It's not all right though." I cry, reflexively his hands move to hold me close to him...

" Where are you going?" Rebekah asks as Klaus turns me into his backpack.
" It appears the night is not quite over, yet. I'm off for another drink with Marcel."Klaus smirks, his hands moving to my thighs to hold me in place.
"Elijah told me about your plan to take apart Marcel's empire piece by piece. I don't remember it involving you two drinking New Orleans dry together" Rebekah calls as we leave the room.
"You're not having one of 'those' kind of drinks with me on your back, are you?" I ask, hoping for a no.

"Don't worry little Evie..."

"Well, this is a far cry from last night's party." Klaus says, finally letting me hop down and walk."It's with in Evie's comfort zone this time." He says, causing me to grin."Ah, in pursuit of the bartender from "Rousseau's", I see." Klaus says, winding his friend up as we both slide into the 'booth' across from him.
" She's a work in progress."Marcel smiles.
"And yet here you are, pining over her when you should be eating her for lunch. Oh, she must be special." Klaus says, scowling, I lift my hand up and slap him on the back of the head.
"What was that for?" He scowls, turning to glare at me. I raise an eyebrow, daring him to continue, he sighs, knowing he can't win if he wants my forgiveness. And that my friends, is blackmail at its finest.Marcel also raises an eyebrow at us, probably wondering how anyone can disrespect Klaus and live with no injuries...
"So how's you get this lovely lady to marry you, did you compel her?" He asks, smirking as if he knows all. Klaus's face lights up with the spin the conversation has taken, meaning he gets to brag.
"No, it's actually a magical mate bond where two wolves are destined to love each other... Quite cute don't you think?" Klaus asks, smugly. Marcel's eyebrows raise but he tries to play it off as if he is not surprised.
"You're a wolf?" He asks me, a confused expression taking over his face. "You don't smell like a wolf." He ads on the end.
"Oh- that's Shawn Mendes new signature perfume, it's quite addictive."I smile, staring off into space as if I were in deep thought.
"Shaw Mendes?" he asks, clearly not update with the times.
"Are you secretly Justin Bieber?" I ask, deciding to intervene before I go full blown fan girl, Klaus places his hand over my mouth.
"Like I said." He sighs, "Evie is a hole new level..."

I stand in a measly garage, a look of disdain resting on my face as I wipe my finger through a patch of dust, wiping it down the back of Klaus's shirt in disgust.
" You take me to the nicest places." Klaus says sarcastically, frowning as he turns to look at my forced innocent expression.
Two vampires open a car door, revealing two humans, or newly turned vampires, a girl and a boy, both looking fairly scared.
" Welcome to the land of the newly dead. I won't waste your time. I trust you filled them in?" Marcel asks to one of the two vampires.
" To be honest, not much in the way of potential here." The vampire responds. I merely stand, nodding my head every now and then, pretending to understand what is going on.
" Yeah, well, I just lost six night-walkers. I got holes to fill. I'll keep this quick. That itch you feel? That's the need to feed coming on strong, a hunger for human blood." At the mention of blood drinking, Klaus discreetly moves his body so that it is half blocking my body from their view. "Drink it – you're a vampire. Don't – you die. Again. This time for good. Right here in a body bag." he turns to Klaus" Hey, what do you think, cute dorky girl or gay best friend?"
" Dealer's choice" Klaus shrugs, taking my hand in his.
Marcel holds a coin up to the two of them, his face stoic, " Whoever picks up this coin gets to live forever. The other one dies."
He places the coin in between the two of them, retracting his hand afterwards. The male looks at the girl, telling her he won't touch it with his eyes. She shrugs, taking the coin without a second thought. Marcel laughs. " :Damn girl! I said, damn!"
"We all have working ears, you only need to say it once, I said once." I mock, he ignores me easily.
" How could you!?" The boy asks, a hurt expression washing across his face.
" Get over it, Josh. It's not like I had a choice. You would've done the same thing, but you're such a little –" Her sentence finishes abruptly as Marcel snaps her neck, Klaus squeezes my hand tightly.
" Let her die in cold storage. Got a thing about people who betray their own friends. C'mon. Let's go for a ride." Marcel smiles.

Klaus takes me to the bar, ordering me a bourbon as we both sit on the swirly chairs.
"You are so lucky you have me." He says, completely out of the blue. I raise an eyebrow, telling him to reiterate.
"You have this attitude and mouth, that when you say things, people just want to kill you." I shrug.
"It's a Lockwood thing." Marcel then comes into the bar, heading towards us and ruining Kevie time.
" I know that face – woman trouble."Klaus says as Marcel takes a seat in between us, separating myself and Klaus.
"You're a dick, you know that? Why didn't you tell me your sister's back in town?" Marcel asks, ordering a drink.
"Well, I thought it would be more amusing for you to find out for yourself." Klaus shrugs, leaning over to try and take my drink. Like I said, try, I slap it away quickly. He gives me a sad, hurt look as I glare at him, evilly.
" Is there anything else that I need to know?" Marcel asks, a grumpy tone to his voice.
"I hear Pythagoras theorem and other mathsy stuff..." I trail off, seeing Klaus's evil look.
"If you think they are important I could have someone teach you more." I shake my head back and forth, a horrified look on my face.
Marcel's phone starts ringing, a boring sound supplied by the make. Although it's muffled, I hear what the man says clearly. " Just got a tip – someone saw a werewolf in Bienville Park. "
Marcel sighs, replying easily, " Get a couple night-walkers to run it down. Bring me back its head. " Hayley instantly comes to mind as I grab Marcel by the throat. He looks into my eyes, seemingly shocked by my strength, he tries to shake me off, beginning to grow aggressive before Klaus shoots him a warning look. "Kill the werewolf and I'll kill you." I snarl, leaving both men behind me as I leave to find Hayley.
______________________________________________________________________
By the time I have found said park, Hayley was seated on a bench, a drink in hand as a vampire stalked up behind her, a night-walker to be exact.
"Dumb move, coming into the Quarter. You're coming with me, wolf." the vampire says, much to mine and Hayley's distaste.
" I have had it up to here with vampires telling me what to do." She says, smiling once I have plunged a stake into the vampire's heart. Turning around, we notice more vampires come our way. I kill one and Rebekah shows up, ripping the other two vampires hearts out.
"Now, that is no way to treat a woman and a pregnant lady. I do hate bad manners. " She says, talking to the dead bodies as we smirk at each other.
Hayley gasps at the two of us in shock.
_______________________________________________________________________________
Klaus throws the last body onto a pile in the courtyard, fuming with anger.
"This is why I told you never to leave the house. Werewolves are banned in the Quarter. I had a plan, and your little nighttime stroll put it all in peril!" He yells, tugging at his hair.
"You've done enough, don't you think? Leaving a trail of bodies like a road map to my door?" Klaus says, turning to look at Rebekah.
"For goodness sake Nik, I killed the first two." I snap, trying to take some of the blame away from Rebekah , but being his stubborn self, he's having non of it.
"And don't give me that crap about having a plan. You've had all the time in the world to execute a plan, and no one's seen you do a damn thing! Elijah made a deal to protect your child, so that it could save you from your selfish, rotten self. But you obviously don't give a damn about the child or Elijah, because what have you done to honour it?" Rebekah snaps back, glaring at her brother.
" I have done everything. Let me spell it out for you, shall I? From the day I arrived, Marcel hasn't trusted me. From Day One, he's had his vampires ingest toxic vervain which, as you know, little sister, protects them from my mind control." Klaus says, storming towards the house, turning around for the last time. "And again, Evie isn't pregnant!"
I sigh, following him into the house.
"Niklaus." I call out, but just as I had expected, he does not reply. "Niklaus." I call again, finding him with a drink in hand and his feet up on a desk as he glares at the wall. "Nik."I say, growing annoyed when he doesn't listen to me. Humphing, I walk around the desk, leaning my back against it, standing directly in front of him. His eyes flicker to my face before turning away again.
"Please talk to me."I say quietly, not used to receiving the silent treatment from Klaus. He stays silent, remaining angry and annoyed. Desperately, I try a different tactic. "I love you." I say, the same volume as before. He looks up to my face again, sighing and opening his arms. Smiling, I walk into them as he pulls me onto his lap, my legs dangling off the arm rests of the posh looking office chair. "I love you too."He says, nuzzling his face into my neck as he dispels his anger. I smile, kissing his cheek.
"I am pregnant."I murmur quietly, knowing that we'll have to talk about it sooner or later.
"You're not,"He replies, his tone almost as quiet as mine. I stand up in front of him as he puts his hands either sides of my waist.
"Klaus listen." I say, watching his face carefully.
"To what?"He asks.
"Count the heartbeats coming from me."I say, softly. He stays quiet for a few moment, focusing carefully before his eyes widen. He looks up at my face.
"That second one, is your child."I say slowly. Nervously, he pulls me closer to him, kissing my lips while his hand rests on my stomach.
