"What's that?" Matt asks as Rebekah places car keys on the counter, narrowly dodging my drink, which is lucky for her, if she had spilled my drink, shit would have got real. I payed good money for that, Matt totally didn't give it to me on the house...

"The key to your new truck. It's parked outside, paid for, insured, everything but a big red bow." Rebekah says, smiling.

"If that's your idea of an apology, you should probably give it to Elena. She's the one that you killed." Matt says, not looking at her eyes.

"You should be grateful, my lover takes all of my vehicles back to the shop."I sigh, remembering my beautiful golf buggy.

Matt leaves. Klaus comes up to us, Rebekah looks at him.

"You're trying too hard." He pauses and looks at me, "And you know why I tuck that golf buggy back." I scoff in annoyance. He leans down and kisses my cheek, smiling at me as I give him a dirty look.

"Last I heard you were leaving town, forever with Evie." She says, looking at him.

"Well I was "He gets up and walks towards her" but then I thought to myself how can I when my sister, clearly so desperate for love and affection, is left here bribing the help"

"What do you want Nik? I thought I was dead to you." She spits.

"Things change Rebekah. I've stumbled upon something I think might be of interest to you"He says, eyeing my drink.

" Doubt that." Rebekah mutters, turning away from him.

"No? Well, what if I told you the brotherhood of The Five still existed." He says, trying to sound casual as he drops his arm around my shoulder.

Rebekah does a double take. "You see, and like that bygones. Come on love, work to do."

" We don't have anything to do. There is no we. I don't care about The Five and I don't care about you." Klaus makes a grab for my drink, guzzling it as I huff, replying to her.

"As you wish." Silently, he hooks his arm underneath my legs, picking me up bridal style and carrying me out of the grill.

"You're buying me another drink."I state.

Klaus opens a door to a room, myself following behind him with my fresh coffee that Klaus brought me to apologise for drinking my other one.In the room, a man, who I assume to be the hunter, is chained up.

" Looks like I'll have to beef up the hybrid security detail." Klaus says as Stefan walks out of the shadows.

" was gonna take him, but I figured you went through such trouble to truss him up in your red room of pain." Stefan says, smiling at me.

"It's from the Inquisition. I thought it was a nice touch" Klaus shrugs, smiling at my happy look as I bring my coffee up to my lips.

" What'd you get out of him?" Stefan asks, observing how peaceful and loving Klaus acts around me, comparing it to how beastly he is towards everyone else.

"Not enough. He's mum about the Council fire and he's not saying anything about this greater evil we're all supposed to be shivering over. What brings you snooping?" Klaus asks him, taking a sip from his own coffee. I forced him to get two so that he would have no reason to steal mine.

"Well, I can't say it in front of him. As I'm sure you've figured out, our friend here can't be compelled." I turn to look at the hunter who is already looking at me curiously, probably wondering why I'm here or why no one is bitching at me.

"You're full of mysteries, aren't you?"Klaus asks him, who still continues to stare at me, as if he were trying to read my mind.

"I told you, I don't know anything." He says, keeping his cool.

"That's what they all say," I sigh, taking a seat in the only arm chair in the room.

"Thankfully, I know plenty." Klaus smirks.

Klaus goes to walk out of the room, gesturing for Stefan to follow him.

"Don't go near him Evie." Klaus warns, leaving us on our own.

I stare at the hunter for a few moments as he stares back at me. I purse my lips, wondering if he hunts the same way that Alaric did, I also try to figure out what the brotherhood of the five is.

"And you are?" I ask him, feeling the urge to know things.

"Connor." He replies, still staring at me curiously.

"Well, Connor, I hope you don't mind if I take a nap because this chair is hella comfy." I say, making myself comfortable.

I feel small kisses being peppered all over my face, causing me to wake up with a giggle, Klaus smiles at me cutely before turning his attention back to the hunter.

" You feeling alright, mate? Are the shackles too tight?" He pauses, listening to the new foot steps" Welcome home, sister"

" Is this a trick? How do you know he's one of the Five? Where's his bloody tattoo?" She asks, sounding really annoyed.

"Oh, the tattoos aren't visible on this lot like they were on the last. Let's eat." He leaves the room as Rebekah follows after him, I decide to stay behind, not feeling hungry.

"So you're Klaus's wife?" Connor asks me, reminding me of his presence.

"What makes you think that?" I ask, sprawling out on the small arm chair.

"The ring on your finger and the kisses placed all over your face." I feel a blush light up my cheeks.

"Maybe, maybe not." He laughs dryly.

We sit in silence until Jeremy enters the room with a drawing pad and art pencil, sitting himself down at my feet.

"You set me up at the hospital. Led me into a trap. Why?" Connor asks as Jer starts drawing his tattoos, leaning back against my knees.

"You were trying to hurt people who are important to me." He shrugs.

"Important to you? That vampire just threatened to kill you! I don't understand how you can see the tattoo if you're a sympathiser." The hunter spits as I glare at him for talking rudely to Jeremy... The only person allowed to do that is me...

"And what exactly do you understand? Because a couple days ago, you seemed to have all the answers and now you know jack. Where did this tattoo come from? Why am I the only one who can see it?" The hunter says, trying to shrug but the chains stop him from doing so.

"Nice lines. Now, if you could just hurry it up a little bit." Klaus says, kissing my ear as he stares down at the sketch that Jeremy drew.

Jeremy stands up, handing the sketch pad to Klaus. "I'm done." Jeremy says simply, trying to walk past Klaus.

"What is this?" Klaus says, frowning at the tattoo in disapproval." It's the tattoo" Jeremy replies simpy

Klaus turns around and grabs Jeremy by the throat.

I stand up, going into defence mode, grabbing Klaus's hand and prying it off of Jeremy's throat.

"I've seen the tattoo, you impertinent punk. There's more to it." Klaus snaps, trying to pull his hand out of my iron grip, I raise an eyebrow at him.

" That's all of it. He says every time he kills a vampire it spreads." Jeremy says.

Klaus throws Jeremy back into a chair. He turns and looks at Connor.

"Stop throwing a bitch fit." I say, deadly calm, getting up in Klaus's face. "He's done everything you've told him to do."

" Nate! " Klaus yells, keeping his eyes focused on mine sternly as he tries to intimidate me into backing down.

"Tell the girl to take Jeremy home."He then points at Connor" Keep this one alive at all costs."

Angrily, he storms out of the room, hand rapped around my wrist as he pulls me along with him, more than likely sensing one of my rants coming along. He stops walking as we reach a room with a desk in the middle, he leans against it.

"Go on then love, spit it out." He says, watching me glare at him.

"Must you always be so over dramatic?" I ask, annoyance seeping clearly in my tone.

"What else should I do love?" His angry expression matching mine. I glare at him as he glares right back at me.

"You held him by his throat" I say, trying to get him to see what he has done wrong. My fire gets fueled as he shrugs. "For God's sake Niklaus, he didn't do anything wrong!" I exclaim, his face remains indifferent.

"And?" He asks as if it were no big deal. I glare at him, swinging my arm back, preparing to slap him across the face. He catches my wrist in his hand, staring at me furiously.

"You dare to disrespect me!" He yells, but I do not back down.

"Yes Klaus" I emphasise his name, "I dared to disrespect you." He groans in frustration, releasing his grip on my wrist and rakes his hands through his hair.

"For God's sake Evie." He groans. I merely watch him, not moving or speaking. He closes his eyes for a few seconds, sighing before looking directly into my eyes,

"I'm sorry." He says, sounding strained and upset, suggesting that he is not use to apologising. I sigh, closing my eyes before bringing him in for a hug.

"I love you." He whispers into my hair.

"I love you too" I whisper back.
