《Desolate (Klaus Mikaelson)》Dinner Parties.

Jenna is taking Elijah on a tour of some of the historical sights of Mystic Falls, so I just tag along, having nothing better to do.

" The old Fell property actually starts just beyond that fence. " Jenna states, pointing towards a fence. It's funny that I have lived in Mystic Falls for the past 17 years and don't even know half of what Jenna is saying.

"Ah, the Fells. One of the Founding Families" He says in a mocking tone.

"Why do you say it like that?" Jenna asks carefully.

"So many questions, young grasshopper," I say, as she smirks at me. That is the main reason that I like Jenna so much, she appreciates true sarcasm and witty remarks.

"My research showed me that this area was actually settled almost two full centuries earlier. It was a migration of townsfolk from the northeast, um, it was Salem, to be precise," he says.

"Massachusetts? As in the witch trials?" Jenna asks.

"In English, please," I ask politely. Too much Bonnie for me.

"Which means the ever-lauded founding families...didn't actually found anything"Elijah finishes, smirking at a specific founding Lockwood... me

"Try saying that to my Mother, she'll bite your head off." Jenna grins.

"Well, I bet it was the men who made a big deal about being founders back in 1860. Men are very territorial." Jenna says.

"Yes, they are" adds Elijah.

"Lijah, you speak about men as if you are not one of them, is there something you're not telling us," I asked, cheekily. When Jenna turns her head, he quickly sticks his tongue out at me, followed by my raising of an eyebrow.

After that, Alaric then walks up to us.

"Elijah, this is my friend, Alaric Saltzman." Jenna says.

"Friend... what an understatement." I say as Jenna blushes deeply.

"Yeah, I got your message about walking Elijah here through the old property lines. I thought I would tag along. You know being a history buff and all. Where to next?" Ric says, smirking at me.

"I'm pretty curious about the freed slave property owners. Some say, you know, the descendants of the slaves are the true keepers of American history." Elijah says, rejoining the conversation.

" Well, I only brought the surveys. I got that list in the car. Just give me a sec." Jenna says, walking away.

"Alaric Saltzman. So you're one of those people on Elena's list of loved ones to protect." Did she write a list?

"By any chance, am I on that list?" I ask, to which he nods. Yes- I'm not as invisible as I think.

"So is Jenna," Alaric says.

"You don't have to be jealous. I don't really pursue younger women." He pauses "It's a joke, Ric, lighten up" He then walks away, dragging me along with him.

"Right." Alaric says from behind us.

"So what's going on with you and Alaric? I feel like there's some tension." Andie asks.... Rude ass bitch.

"So what's going on with you and Damon, he doesn't seem all that... bothered about you."I supply for Jenna who nods gratefully at me.

"I don't know. I really like him. It's more than like and I want it to work, but I can't help but feel that he's hiding something from me. And then I've got John whispering things in my ear about him" Jenna says, filling the short silence.

"Like what?" Andie asks.

"Things I don't want to believe. Things I don't believe, not if they're coming from John's mouth."Jenna sighs.

"Oh. Well, there you go, then. Trust is the key to any relationship. I mean, I am so grateful that Damon tells me everything." Andie says.

"I'm pretty sure that love is the key to any relationship,"I say.

Upstairs, the bell rings. Jenna answers the door. John is outside on the porch and walks into the house. Damon walks out of the library and into the front hall.

" Who invited him? " Jenna and I say in sync, go girl power.

"John. Surprise. Leave" Damon says bluntly.

"When Jenna told me she was coming to a dinner party for Elijah, I decided I couldn't miss out on all the fun and games," John states as if any of us actually cared.

Alaric walks in causing Damon and John both to look at him.

"There are not going to be any games tonight, John. It's just a friendly dinner party." Alaric says, being mature due to Jenna's presence. Damon sighs before saying, "What he said."

"Good evening." I hear Elijah say as Damon opens the door.

"Thank you for coming. Please, come in" Damon says, for a change, he sounds polite, usually he's an ass.

"Just one moment. Can I just say that if you have less than honourable intentions about how this evening is going to proceed, I suggest you reconsider." Elijah states seriously.

"No, nothing, nothing dishonourable. Just getting to know you, plus, Evie would have our heads if we tried anything," I smirk... my boys know where they stand.

"Hmm. Well, that's good." Elijah replies thoughtfully.

"Because, you know, although Elena and I have this deal, if you so much as make a move to cross me, I'll kill you and I'll kill everyone in this house. Apart from sweet Evie, of course. Are we clear?" Elijah asks, closing the door behind himself.

"Crystal," Damon replies forcing a smile.

"Jenna. Wonderful to see you again. How are you??" Elijah asks, speaking as if they haven't seen each other in months when they saw him just yesterday.

" Nice to see you," Jenna smiles sweetly.

"You look incredible," He says... always the gentleman.

"Thank you," She replies, smiling.

Damon, Andie, Elijah, Jenna, John, Alaric and I all sit around the table. Jenna pours some wine for Damon.

"Wow Damon, are you sure you're alright, I've never seen you drink anything other than Bourbon," I say playfully.

" I hate to break it to you, Damon, but according to Elijah, your family is so not a founder of this town," Jenna says, sending Elijah a smile.

"Hmm, do tell"

"Well, as I mentioned to Jenna earlier, a faction of settlers migrated from Salem after the witch trials in the 1690s. Over the next hundred years, they developed this community where they could feel safe from persecution." Elijah says, winking at me.

"Hmm. Because they were witches." Jenna adds on.

"Yeah, but there's no tangible proof there were witches in Salem," Andie remarks, I swear she's got it in for Jenna.

"Shut the hell up Andie, go back to the orgy," I spit.

"Maybe you should go back to Donovan, you were nicer than" Damon buts in as I begin to choke on my food, Elijah pats my back helpfully. Yes, there was a time when me and Matt were... an item?

"Andie's a journalist. Big on facts." Damon says, going back to the subject at hand as I start to breathe again.

"Well, the lore says that there was this wave of anti-witch hysteria. It broke out in the neighbouring settlement, so these witches were rounded up. They were tied to stakes in a field together and, uh, burned. Some say you could hear the screams from miles around us. They were consumed by the fire. Could you pass the..."

Jenna cuts him off, "I wouldn't repeat this to the Historical Society" Oh if only she knew.

"it's starting to sound a little like a ghost story to me," John speaks for the first time since arriving.

"So, why do you want to know the location of these alleged massacres?"

"You know...a healthy historian's curiosity, of course," Elijah says, bringing the conversation to a swift end.

"Of course." Damon finishes.

"The gentlemen should take their drinks in the study." Andie says.

"I have to say the food was almost as wonderful as the company,"Elijah says, squeezing my shoulder.

"I like you,"Andie says, looking directly at him.

Jenna hands some plates to John.

"Here you are, gentleman, make yourself useful. Hmm?" Jenna says, smiling.

John takes the plates and walks off. Alaric comes up behind Jenna.

"Hey, Jenna, are you...are you okay?"Ric asks her, after the semi rejection.

" Yeah, fine, Ric," she says, brushing him off.

Jenna leaves the room. John looks at Alaric and walks towards him.

"I suspect this is my fault." he says lazily." What did you do now?"Alaric asks him whilst sighing

" I merely mentioned that you haven't been completely honest with her about your dead wife."

" You son of a bitch!" Ric yells.

Alaric grabs John by his shirt collar. John grabs his wrists and pulls his hands off of him

"John," I say in a warning tone.

" I think I've been very clear with you, Ric. I want my ring back. " John demands, his cool slipping

"What is the point in having a ring that brings you back to life when no one wants you alive?" I ask John, curiously as he glares at me and Ric.

"Evie," Elijah says, I merely shrug my shoulders in annoyance. Elijah has recently adopted the tendency to act as my Father figure, keeping me in check.

"So, let me guess. In addition to the moonstone, the doppelgänger, the lion, the witch and the wardrobe, you need to find this witch burial ground" Damon asks.

"I would make an awesome lion," I say to my self.

"You are not being sacrificed, Evie." Elijah says coolly, before directing his attention back to Damon."Because I feel as though we've grown so close, Damon, I'll tell you yes. Do you know where it is?"

"Maybe. Tell me why it's so important."Damon says, not asking.

"We're not that close," Elijah says, "However, it would be a different matter if Evie were to ask." Damon sighs as I smile at my importance.

Elijah turns around and looks around at the books.

" It's quite a collection you have here," Elijah says, rubbing his finger over a few of them.

As Elijah has his back turned, Damon slowly and carefully grabs the silver dagger from the tray of glasses.

"It's a funny thing about books. Before they existed, people actually had memories."Elijah says.

Alaric and Andie burst through the study doors, Andie seeming flustered. Damon quickly puts the dagger back down.

"Gentlemen, we forgot about dessert," Ric says.

"Elijah," Andie says, holding her wrist out to Elijah.

He twirls her around and they walk out of the room together. As soon as they leave, Damon smacks Alaric angrily. Alaric points down at the dagger. Damon doesn't understand what he means. Alaric walks over to a desk and writes something down on a piece of paper. He hands it to Damon who reads it. The paper says "The dagger will kill you if you use it." Damon angrily throws the paper at Alaric and they walk out of the room.

"No, stop, I won't let you" I say, realising what they are planning, until everything goes black.
