《Desolate (Klaus Mikaelson)》Evie

A thousand or so years ago, the werewolf came about. Lord knows how or why- it was probably a witch, to be honest... But the point of this isn't to marvel werewolf history. Well, anyway. The werewolf came about, and with it came many cons. There's the whole losing control thing and bones snapping every month, but it's bearable.

But as well as the cons, there are also many perks. Take the super strength for example or the quicker reflexes. And then there are other ones such as matehood. However, only one in six werewolves find their mates because not all werewolves ever shift. Or something stupid like that...

Since the day I was born I've never really been too lucky, so it's safe to assume I'll be one of the five that don't. But, until the day that I may or may not meet the man for me, or learn more about a certain entity within me- I have other things to worry about. Such as manners, boys, vampires and annoying ass twin brothers.

"Tyler Lockwood! Get your ass down here now!"I yell, my business head on. Next to me, I hear my Mother sigh, shaking her head.

"It's not very ladylike to shout, Evie."

According to my Mother, a lot of things aren't ladylike. It's not ladylike to drink alcohol unless it's champagne, it's not ladylike to cry, to shout, to raise your voice, or, basically, relax. I wonder what she'd say if she knew that every full moon I turn into a clawed beast that lacks self-control.

"I'm sorry, Mother," I mutter, not in the mood to argue. "Tell Tyler I'm going out," I say, before grabbing a coat and leaving.

You're probably wondering who I am... Or maybe you're not as I'm a tad irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. But anyway, my name is Evie Amethyst Lockwood, I'm 17 and the twin sister of Tyler Lockwood. I have long, brown hair that cascades down my back and big blue eyes, oh yeah, I'm also a werewolf. One more thing. My Mum has no idea.

Yeah, she knows about vampires and witches because Damon doesn't know how to keep his huge gob shut, but that's about it. Oh, and I know that my Mother has been slipping vervain into my drinks, meaning she only knows half the story.

"Evie Lockwood, just the wolf I was hoping to run into," says the ever-present voice of Damon Salvatore.

"What do you want Damon?" I ask rudely as I continue walking down the street. He fakes a hurt look, clutching his chest dramatically. "Is that an appropriate way to greet your favourite vampire?" I sigh, following him into the grill.

"Now why aren't you at school?" He asks, playfully putting his arm around my shoulder.

I swallow, rubbing my hands together nervously.

"I may or may not be avoiding Caroline... and my Mum." He smirks, compelling the bartender to get him a Bourbon.

"That wouldn't have anything to do with the masked ball at your house tonight, would it?" he asks, rather states, whilst smirking. I gulp, all the while glaring at him.

"Well," he starts. "Just thought you'd want to know the plan for tonight." He rubs his hands together, smirking masochistically. "Tonight, Bon Bon spells one of the rooms, Caroline tricks her into it, Steffie and I shove a stake through her stone black heart." I frown, wondering which bit of the plan I come into. "You're going to help stake the bitch so that we can put her down for good." I smile, loving my part in the plan.

"I like it." I grin, from ear to ear.

"Do you see her?", Damon asks, scanning the room.

"Yes, because we have x-ray vision and can see through all of these masks." I say, in a snide, sarcastic voice, receiving a glare from Damon.

"Nope. You're sure you can do this?" Stefan asks, completely ignoring me as I huff in annoyance.

"Who are you talking to? " Damon snaps, gesturing from me to him.

" Hey, hey hey, You spent 145 years loving her, it could happen. You could hesitate " I say, being the only rational one... And the only person that loves to play devil's advocate.

"I won't hesitate." He states simply.

The three of us head on up the stairs, the two vampires following steadily behind me as we walk into an empty room. Casually, I sit on the only sofa in there, putting my feet up on the coffee table as Damon heads over to the alcohol cupboard.

"Scotch anyone?" He asks, pulling out a bottle. Stefan gives him a disapproving look as I enthusiastically put my hand in the air like a little school girl. Damon chuckles at my antics.

"This is why you're the more likeable twin," Damon says, earning himself a wink from me.

We all drift into silence as we hear voices behind the doors.

"Which room is it?" Elena's voice asks, which actually belongs to Katherine.

"It's that one." Caroline's voice says, nervously.

Confidently, Katherine struts into the room, seeing only me as the Salvatores hide, overly dramatic.

"Where is she? " Katherine asks, as Caroline's sobbing turns into a chuckle.

"I did it! I really didn't think that I'd be able to fool you but I did it!" Caroline says, her voice laced with shock as she smiles brightly. Katherine vamp speeds to the door, pushing hard against the invisible barrier.

"What the...? Stefan?" She says, turning around to see Stefan stood straight with a stake in hand.

"I'm just gonna, sit here, totally invisible," I say calmly, as I bring my scotch to my lips, wincing as it burns the back of my throat.

"Hello, Katherine," Stefan says drily, as Caroline gleefully turns around and leaves.

"You don't really think that you can kill me with that now, do you?" she asks, emphasising the word really as if she were talking to a toddler. That is the part where I but in.

"Grab a stake, hold you down for a few seconds, plunge stake into your icy bitch heart, you make choking noises, skin turns grey and boom, you're dead... Not that difficult." I say as if I am answering a question in class.

Katherine finally looks at me, as if for the first time noticing my presence, but Stefan just ignores me, again.

" No, but he can," Stefan says, as Damon walks out from the carpet, also holding a stake.

With no hesitation, he shoots the stake at Katherine, where it lodges itself easily into her back.

Very suddenly, Jeremy comes to a stop outside of the door, gasping for breath as I stare at my perfectly manicured nails, careful to mind the barrier.

"Damon stop!" He screams in between his panting, " Stop! You're hurting Elena! Everything you're doing to her is hurting Elena!"

Damon stops abruptly, gulping as Katherine pulls herself to her feet, smirking sinisterly.

"You think you two are the only ones with a witch on your side? Wrong and something tells me that my witch is better than your witch." I sigh, downing the rest of my scotch and rolling the glass between my fingers.

"Why am I even here?" I mutter, quietly under my breath.

"I'm not a doppelganger and I've never been in love with a dopplebitch, and everyone's ignoring me."

Damon comes up behind me, smacking me lightly on the back of the head. I grunt, "Oh so now I'm not invisible, "I mutter again.

Quickly, she takes the stake from Damon's hands, twiddling it between her fingers, just like I was doing with my glass moments ago.

"Jeremy, go check on Elena. Make sure she's okay. Go!" Stefan yells, forcefully, watching as the youngest Gilbert scurries away. I sigh, placing my glass on the coffee table.

"Let's all make sure poor Elena is okay." She says, her eyes lingering on me for a couple of seconds before she starts to scrape the stake across her skin, "Just a little bit more pressure."

Bored, she drops the stake to the floor, the red blood soaking into the cream carpets, "Hey, those carpets aren't cheap and they are going to be a bloody nightmare to clean... Get it, bloody, because your blood is-"

"Shut up Evie!" Damon intervenes, throwing his hands up around him, while Katherine smiles a real smile.

"I like you," she says, staring at me intently, "I might decide to keep you alive"

Ignoring the second part, I reply, "I like me too."

Katherine bends down slowly, with the Salvatore's watching her every move, picking the stake up once again, positioning it to drive through her stomach.

"This is really gonna hurt."She says, preparing to stab herself before Damon exclaims, "Wait!"

Shrugging her shoulders, she sits down on the spare spot next to me.

"Okay. So, how about that moonstone?" She says, prioritising. Confused, I ask her.

"Why do you need the moonstone?" She squeezes my side, whispering into my ear.

"I will tell you in time, accalia."

I smile, knowing that she trusts me more than she trusts the Salvatore's, meaning that she won't kill me first.
