A bright flash of lightning blinded the crew for a moment, they watched in horror as (Y/n)'s head fell off. "(Y/N)!!" Luffy screamed as he ran up to the head. But, what he found wasn't her head, it was Gakuganji's head, freaked out he backed away from it. "W-What?! How!" Buggy exclaimed as he watched the headless body fall, the chains in the exact same places (Y/n) were trapped in.
"Do you really think these measly papers would trap me? I'm a Gojo! I refused to die here!" (Y/n) exclaimed with a crazed grin. With another flash of lightning, the structure crumbled. Buggy was (un) fortunately trapped in the rubble, as (Y/n) casually stood in front of it, and rain started to fall. "(Y/n)! You're alright!" Luffy laughed as he instantly clung onto her, while Buggy's crew members stared in horror/shock.
"You idiot! You had us all worried!" Zoro exclaimed as he gently whacked her head with his hand. "Who even was this guy?" Sanji grumbled as he looked down at the decapitated head. "Someone of no importance, anyways, we should head out" (Y/n) said seriously as she stared at the place Smoker lurked.
Just as she said that a horde of Marines surrounded them, instantly going for the attack. "Looks like that's our cue to leave! Let's go!" Luffy exclaimed as he started running in a certain direction, his three crewmates following behind him. When Marines attempted to stop them, the three pirates, and one sorcerer, took them out with ease.
Unknown to them, the storm is no mere coincidence, as a cloaked figure observed the straw hat crew from afar. "What the heck is up with all this rain?!" Zoro exclaimed, a little annoyed he was getting soaked. "Looks like Nami was right about this storm, if we don't back to the ship and set sail soon. We're going to be stuck here for good!" Sanji exclaimed, wishing he could run faster.

"It'll be fine! We'll figure it out when we get there!" (Y/n) reassured with a small smile. "So, which way is the sea?!" Zoro asked, having no clue where they were heading. "Not sure! The rain makes it hard to tell where we're going!" Luffy answered casually. "Don't worry, we're going the right way, just keep going!" (Y/n) reassured again, her Six eyes keeping track of Nami and Usopp's energy.
"There they are!!" A marine exclaimed as a group of them came charging for them. "Damn, they're like roaches! Do you want to stop and fight them?" Zoro asked as if it were an option. "We don't have time... Oh wow! Who is that?!" Sanji exclaimed as he spotted a female in the distance. Zoro hummed in confusion, as he recognized the female from earlier.
"You lied... You're just another liar!!" The girl exclaimed randomly, as the crew slowed down. "Oh great! What the hell did you do to that girl?!" Sanji exclaimed as he glared at Zoro. "You never asked me what my name was, did you? So I never lied, did I?" Zoro asked as he ignored Sanji and approached the female.
"Zoro, we don't have time, we should get going" (Y/n) interrupted, gaining the swordman's attention. "I know, but this is important" Zoro waved off as he took out his sword. "Hey! Don't just wave her off! You're such a jerk!!" Sanji exclaimed, feeling offended for (Y/n). Again, he was ignored as the two swordsmen entered a duel, the winner takes the legendary sword.
"Come on, he can handle himself" Luffy ushered, knowing they need to keep moving. "Fine! But don't think I won't forget how rude you were to (Y/n)!" Sanji exclaimed as he ran by him. (Y/n) just rolled her eyes and grabbed his hand, forcing him to move faster, and swoon over her.

"I see the ship! Wow (Y/n), you were right! Who knew you were good at directions!" Luffy somewhat complimented. "Great... Now what?" Sanji groaned as he spotted another figure blocking their way. "(Y/n) Gojo, I didn't think you would escape those bonds so quickly. I guess I underestimated you" Smoker said as he stared her down.
"Whoever gave you those bonds clearly didn't know how to restrain me" (Y/n) said with a smirk. "Let's go" Sanji ushered, clearly uninterested in the male. "You two head on ahead, I'll be right behind you" (Y/n) said while sending them a reassuring smile. "Alright, don't take too long!" Luffy said, trusting her abilities to deal with the threat without them.
(Y/n)'s smile then dropped into a serious look, cracking her knuckles in preparation. "Let's see, who is stronger, your Devil Fruit or my Jujutsu" (Y/n) said as she stretched her arms. Smoker huffed as he activated his powers, attempting to trap her within it, in response, she clapped her hands and vanished.
"So that's your power, huh? You'll have to do more than that to capture me" she whispered into his ear. Swinging around, he attempted to capture her again, only to get smacked on the back of his head. Stumbling forward, he regained his balanced and glared at her. "Bang~" she mocked as she pointed her finger at him, in result he was blasted backward, right into a building.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew at her, as a tornado formed. "Ah, shit" she muttered as she was sent flying, along with Smoker. Clapping her hands, she vanished and reappeared next to Nami, who was on the boat. "(Y/n)?! When did you get here?!" Nami exclaimed as the wind finally calmed down. "Magic~! Hey! Luffy!" (Y/n) called out, staring over the boat towards the shore.
She then stepped to the side as the three males flew towards them at high speed. "Nice timing" (Y/n) teased as she stared down at the dizzy males. "Hey, look! A light!" Nami exclaimed as the males gathered themselves to help Going Merry travel the rough sea. "Is that a lighthouse?" Sanji asked in confusion, not expecting there to be a lighthouse in such an odd spot.
"It's an outpost for the Grand Line, it means we're close to it!" Nami explained to him. "So the Grand Line is just right up ahead," Luffy said, a bit excited to finally enter it. "Do we have to go there in the middle of a fricking hurricane like this?!" Usopp complained as he held onto the mast.
"Okay then, I guess we should say something to mark the occasion," Sanji said after everyone silently interpreted that they were heading to the Grand Line. "Sure/Yeah!/Let's do it!" Luffy, (Y/n), and Nami said in response, so Sanji started first. "I'm going to the Grand Line to find the All Blue!" Sanji proclaimed. "I'm going to be King of the Pirates!" Luffy went next, still determined on his dream.
"The world's best swordsmen" Zoro said with a cocky smirk. "I'm going so I can draw a map of the entire world!" Nami said with an excited smile. "I guess I'm going... To be a brave warrior of the sea!" Usopp proclaimed, despite being a complete coward. "And I... Will find a way to free my brother from his shackles" (Y/n) said with a serious look, as she was the last to prop up her foot on the barrel. "And now, to the Grand Line!!" Luffy exclaimed as they all raised their foot and destroyed the barrel.

Cutting to Life: an NPC LitRPG (Battle Royale)
Nikola is an NPC in The World of Wills, a video game where players can feel sensations as if they were truly there. She leads a life of bloodshed and murder - that is, until one day she wakes up sapient. Just as she begins thinking real, non-scripted thoughts and making connections, she and the players in the game are told that if they die in the game, they die in real life - and it's time to get killing. But what of Nikola, the emerging AI consciousness? How does she win in a game that can only end in her being wiped from existence at the end of it all? - Updates Mondays and Fridays. Cutting to Life is a slow-burn LitRPG with a villainous (later anti-hero, or maybe still villainous, haha) female lead. It's told from the perspective of Nikola, an NPC within the World of Wills who's become sapient and is now mysteriously able to play the game as a PC. It's quite light for a LitRPG, but the system and stats become more of a focus later when Nikola herself can access them. The story gradually builds into a Battle Royale where the players' lives are on the line (if you die in the game, you die in real life), and only one party of savvy adventurers can win. They'll have to spend their time and stats wisely as dungeons promising rare gear float down from the sky - but is a legendary sword worth killing someone for, knowing they'll stay dead forever? - This story is told in third person, past tense.- This is a slow-burn LitRPG that spends a lot of time establishing its setting and characters, because I believe this will make for a better payoff in the end. As such, the Battle Royale doesn't start until chapter 30 or so.- Chapters are anywhere between 800 words and 3000 words long.- Book cover by Vixeona.Cutting to Life is also being posted on SPB and Scribble Hub.Thank you sincerely for reading.
