1. I am caught up in a storm. I am caught up in a storm whose scorching water burns my skin and I can almost hear the sound of sizzling.

2. I am sinking into a bed of roses. I am sinking into a bed of roses whose petals shiver (and I wonder whether it is out of fear or pure cold. Perhaps their muscles are shaking from carrying me). I can almost hear them whimpering.

3. I am drowning in the darkness of the night sky. I am drowning in the depths of the night sky whose scintillating stars burn in the distance. They have burst millions of years ago, yet they shine the brightest. I wonder if the same would apply to me. I can almost hear them singing lullabies.

4. I am fading. I am fading in the depths of insanity. My corners are creased; my edges torn. Fire rips through me and burns my soul to the core. I can almost hear the crackling.

5. I am highly volatile. I am highly volatile in this night that is forever stretching, extending, reaching. Seconds tick away like a timer on a grenade. Thick, explosive blood flows through me. I wonder if I'll go off anytime soon. I can almost hear my fate.

6. I am empty. I am empty in a world full of reason and hope. No more silly jokes and carefully constructed laughter. I can almost hear the wind whispering to me.

7. I am sinking. I am fading from an ever changing and growing world. I am slowly sinking into a new world (and I pray it be paradise.) I am torn in every edge and tape no longer sticks to me. I can almost hear death pushing me deeper.

8. I am losing. I am losing in this battle called life. Defeat seeps through my veins and stains my scar laden skin. My knees give in to the dirt and I become one with the ground. One with the fallen. I can almost hear the cheers.

9. I am dying. I am dying despite the numerous efforts this strange man makes trying to save me. He's giving up and I wish I could beg him to try harder. What if I cannot find my way home? What if there is no home? I can almost hear the cries and goodbyes.

10. I am alive. I am alive in a land of hope. Dawn has made its way and my demons have almost stolen my soul. Relief clots the open wounds and sends my mind to sleep. Despite the happiness, I fear the night once more.
