When Castor Shae woke up this morning, he had not been expecting to find the Millennium Falcon. And never in a million years would he have expected to see his older sister on board of that ship after having not seen her for six years.
It brought him back to the morning he had left, how Cassie had held him close and told him to come back to her. Castor didn't know why he hadn't gone back for six years. He just hadn't.
Cassie was never far from his heart, but she had been far from his thoughts for the past couple of months. So seeing her so suddenly had been the shock of a lifetime that was for sure. That wasn't even with him knowing she was on some important mission with the map that leads to Luke Skywalker.
And because Castor couldn't have a break, the Guavian Death Gang had decided to show up and now he was trying to not only get rid of them but hide his sister and her companions who were currently underneath the very floorboards he was walking across.
"Calm down, kid," Han muttered as he glanced over at the boy who was looking at the floor as if it were the only thing keeping his head on his shoulders. "You're making me nervous just looking at you."
"Sorry," Castor grumbled as he swallowed thickly, his hands reaching up to fix the collar of his jacket in an attempt to calm his nerves.
"Cassie's going to be fine," Han said, Castor's eyes flickering over to him almost instantly. "They won't even know she's here. But you know what you got to do if things go south."
Castor numbly nodded and opened his mouth to speak when the one of the doors they were walking by suddenly slid open. Han and Castor quickly turned their heads while Chewie towered behind them.
Something hit Castor's foot and the boy glanced down momentarily to see that BB-8 had bumped into him and the droid was quick to put some space between them as he stared up at him. He let out a small beep and the corner of Castor's lips perked up slightly as he whispered, "It's okay."
Castor looked back up and as soon as he caught sight of the leader of the Guavian Death Gang, Bala-Tik, with five other soldiers by his side it was like someone had flipped a switch inside him and Castor was putting on his best mischievous grin as he held his arms up in the air.
"Bala-Tik! Man, we haven't seen you in ages. How are you?" Castor greeted as if the two were best friends which instantly made the man in front of them scowl.
"Don't try and smooth talk your way out of this one, Castor Shae. You and Han Solo are dead men," Bala-Tik announced, shaking his head at the two with fury blazing in his eyes.
Castor only held his hands up in surrender, the mischievous grin never leaving his face which only made Bala-Tik angrier. Han placed a hand on Castor's shoulder and look to Bala-Tik with a friendly and innocent smile on his face while BB-8 nervously looked back and forth between the gang and the three by his side.
"Bala-Tik. What's the problem?" Han questioned, his voice coming out a bit aggressive at the end and making his words echo down the long corridor that lay between the two groups.
"The problem is we loaned you fifty thousand for this job," Bala-Tik announced and Castor couldn't help but sigh internally. He knew exactly where this was going to go, but he really hoped he was wrong.

Beneath the groups, Rey gently nudged Cassie from behind as said girl tried to look through the grating of the floor. "Can you see them?" Rey asked and Cassie frowned before shaking her head. Both Finn and Rey frowned and the three were quick to shuffle down the crawl space, hoping they would be lucky enough to find a spot that would allow them to see what was going on.
"I heard you also borrowed fifty thousand from Kanjiklub," Bala-Tik said and Han let out a small grunt from beside Castor without even moving a muscle.
"You know you can't trust those little freaks!" Han exclaimed. "How long've we known each other?"
"They have blasters," Rey whispered once her, Finn, and Cassie had managed to sneak under the flooring beneath the gang.
"A lot of 'em," Finn whispered in agreement and Cassie couldn't help but close her eyes and let out a small sigh.
"Of course," she muttered. What else should we expect from a group that called themselves the Guavian Death Gang?
"The question is how much longer will we know each other? Not long. We want our money back now," Bala-Tik demanded and Castor couldn't help but let out a small chuckle of disbelief.
"Come on, Bal. I can call you Bal, right? You know hunting Rathtars ain't cheap. We spent that money," Castor said, his hands going onto his hips as he leaned back in one leg. "Now let's be adults here and try and have a conversation, shall we? I'm sure we can come to an understanding."
Bala-Tik's scowl deepened as he looked to Castor before it quickly turned into a smirk. "Kanjiklub wants their investment back, too," he said and the way he spoke was enough to make Castor stand up a little more, suddenly on edge.
"I never made a deal with Kanjiklub!" Han tried to say, but Castor already knew it was going to be no use. He had a bad feeling about this.
"Tell that to Kanjiklub," Bala-Tik suggested and before Han, Castor, or Chewie could even blink the portal behind them opened up to reveal the Kanjiklub members, a gang dressed in medieval bandito style that made Castor grimace. The leader Tasu Leech stepped to the front and Castor inwardly groaned as he realized their situation was getting worse and worse by the second.
"Tasu Leech! Man, we haven't seen you in ages. How are you?" Castor asked the same question he said to Bala-Tik, even using that same mischievous smile of his which only earned a grunt in response.
"Tasu Leech. Good to see you," Han said as he pointed at the man before letting his eyes flicker over to Castor. The two shared a look before looking back to Tasu Leech who was frowning at them. He began speaking in an alien language, but Castor knew more languages than he could count, so it was as if the words came out in English.
"Wrong again, Solo. It's over for you and Shae," Tasu said before he cocked his weapon. Castor knew what that meant and his fingers momentarily twitched as he felt the need to reach for his blaster. This was definitely not a friendly visit.
They were out for blood and it was so obvious that even Cassie could tell from down below as her, Finn, and Rey quickly started crawling back the way they had come in order to get to the new gang.
"Boys. You're both gonna get what I promised!" Han assured them. "Have I ever not delivered for you before?"

"Yeah," Bala-Tik replied almost instantly making Castor wince while Han frowned.
"Twice!" Tasu exclaimed and Han's eyes widened before he looked over to Castor and Chewie who both kept their gazes on the ground as they nodded their heads.
A confused look flashed across Han's face and he looked back to Tasu. "What was the second time?" he questioned.
"Your game is old. There's no one in the galaxy left for you to swindle," Bala-Tik said and Castor scoffed at that.
"Obviously not since we were able to do it to you two," Castor muttered earning glares from the gangs while Han looked at the boy wide wide eyes that asked why he would say that. Castor just shrugged. They were already in a hole they couldn't get out of, why not piss the gangs off more?
"Nowhere left for you to hide," Tasu continued and Castor wanted to correct him as well, but one look from Han had the boy clamping his mouth shut.
"That BB unit," Bala-Tik said causing Castor to glance down at the orange and white droid that rolled by his feet. Castor's eyes snapped up to lock with Bala-Tik's and the gang leader smirked. "The First Order is looking for one just like it."
"And three fugitives."
Cassie, Rey, and Finn instantly stopped their crawling, each of them tensing up as Finn and Rey looked to Cassie. They seemed to be asking her what to do and Cassie gulped before holding a finger to her lips to signal for them to remain quiet.
Above them, Castor had froze while BB-8 quickly hide behind his legs, bumping into his once again. Han and Castor shared a subtle glance and it was then that they both knew the other had come to the same conclusion. Cassie, Finn, and Rey were in trouble.
"First I've heard of it," Han tried to play it off, but it was obvious the gangs didn't believe him.
"Search the freighter," Razoo Qin-Fee, another Kanjiklubber, ordered before one of the Kanjiklubbers began moving down the corridor.
"Woah, just come aboard I guess," Castor growled, his eyes narrowing at the gangs although it was just to hide his own nervousness.
"What do we do?" Rey whispered to Cassie below the grating, her eyes wide as she looked to the older girl for guidance.
Cassie was silent as she raked her mind for ideas. She had to get them out of here and quick. "This way," she whispered before she began moving down the crawling space once again in the opposite direction they came from.
Rey and Finn were quick to follow her, but they didn't get far before they came upon a junction box area. "Wait wait wait wait," Rey quickly said, instantly stopping Cassie and Finn in their tracks as they looked to the girl. "If we close the blast doors in that corridor, we can trap both gangs!"
"Close the blast doors from here?" Finn questioned in fear, but Cassie was quick to place a hand on his shoulder to calm him down.
"Rey's right. If we just reset the fuses, it should do the trick," Cassie agreed and Rey sent her a thankful look before crawling over to the fuses and beginning to mess with them. Cassie was by her side in an instant and Finn wasn't far behind. Together the three began resetting the fuses, sparks shooting from the wires as they did.
Once they were done, Rey and Finn looked to Cassie with optimistic and hopeful expressions which the girl was quick to return. However, all of their smiles dropped when all except for the emergency lights turned off and a loud roar filled the air.
The gangs instantly froze up above and Han's eyes widened before he gently reached out and grabbed ahold of Castor's wrist. "I got a bad feeling about this," he muttered as the lights suddenly turned back on.
"Oh no," Rey whispered making both Cassie and Finn turn to her with wide eyes.
"Oh no, what?" Finn asked, his voice shaky for both him and Cassie didn't want to know what had went wrong.
Rey's face paled before their eyes and she gave them an almost apologetic expression as she whispered, "Wrong fuses."
"Kill them!" Bala-Tik exclaimed, having had enough of Han and Castor. "And take the droid!" The gangs all went to raise their weapons and Han quickly shoved Castor in between him and Chewie as he held a hand up to try and talk them out of this, but before he could so much as utter a word long tentacles suddenly reached out and grabbed two Guavian Death Gang members from behind.
From behind them, another set of tentacles reached out and grabbed ahold of the Kanjikulb members as both gangs began screaming in terror and tried to run away.
Castor's eyes widened at the sight of the creatures that were attacking them and he felt himself pale as he whispered, "The rathtars."
"Watch out, kid!" Han suddenly yelled and Castor had time to glance back and see that a Rathtar was rolling towards them from behind before Chewie was grabbing ahold of Castor's jacket and pulling him forward.
"BB-8!" Castor yelled and the droid was quick to snap out of his own terror before rolling after them. The group began running down the hall as fast as they could, but the Rathtar continued to get closer and closer.
When they were about to turn a member of the Kanjiklub popped out to attack them, but Han was quick to punch the guy before throwing him to the Rathtar who quickly began to devour him. Castor grimaced, but knew he could dwell on it much and turned to grab onto Han and continue running until the old man had snapped out of it enough to run on his own.
In the flooring below, Cassie was hurriedly crawling through the space as she tried to find a floor hatch that would allow them to escape, Rey and Finn on her tail. "This was a mistake!" Finn called out from behind and Cassie couldn't help but scoff and look back at the boy with wide eyes.
"You think?" Cassie snapped, her frustration already making her more irritated than usual. She could barely think straight. Usually Poe was the one to help her come up with a plan and the lack of his presence was more prominent than ever. She hadn't realized how much she depended on Poe until he was gone and she momentarily felt her eyes tear up as she realized this was what her life was going to be like now.
"Huge!" Rey agreed and that was enough to snap Cassie out of her misery. She had Rey and Finn to worry about, not to mention her brother, Han, Chewie, and BB-8 as well. They needed her to be on top of her game and she couldn't let them down like she had let Poe down. She wasn't allowing herself to lose anyone else.
Cassie let out a small sigh of relief at the sight of an floor hatch and was quick to push it open before looking around and making sure the coast was clear. Lucky for them, the hallways around them were vacant of any people, the only sign of any living life being the roar of a Rathtar from far away.
"Coast is clear. Let's go," Cassie said as she plopped back down and held her hands out. Rey took the hint and was quick to step up on the girl's hand before Cassie helped push her up out of the floor. Finn went next and then both leaned down through the opening to grab Cassie's arms and pull her up onto the floor.
The three were on their feet in seconds and Cassie let out a small groan as she got a little light headed. Rey sent her a knowing look and just grabbed Cassie's arm before pulling her forward as she yelled back, "We'll get you some water as soon as we get back on the ship."
Cassie didn't have it in her to argue, her thoughts too focused on trying to make sure no one was following them while also trying to figure out where Castor was. He had BB-8 and if they had to make a quick get away, she wasn't planning on leaving without the droid or her brother.
A roar from the Rathtar made the three tense up as they ran and Rey gulped before looking back at the two and asking, "What do they look like?"
Cassie went to respond, but the three were suddenly halting in their tracks once they turned a corner to see a Rathtar pulling a couple of gang members towards its mouth. Cassie gulped and looked to Finn and Rey who were frozen in fear, the young girl having put a hand over her mouth in horror.
"They look like that," was all Cassie said before she shoved the two from behind and down another hallway, not noticing that the Rathtar was now chasing after them.
"This way!" Finn yelled as he and Rey ran around a corner, but just when Cassie was about to follow she felt three slimy tentacles wrap around her legs before she fell to the floor with a loud bang.
"No, no, no, no, no!" Cassie exclaimed as she desperately tried to grab onto to something, her nails dragging against the metal grating of the floor as the Rathtar moved its tentacles around her waist and the rest of her body.
"Cassie!" Rey and Finn cried out as they tried to reach for her, but it was too late, the Rathtar was already pulling the girl back and disappearing down a hall while Cassie screamed out in terror.
All Cassie could hear was her own pounding heart as the Rathtar's tentacles circled around her and she momentarily caught a glimpse of how fast they were moving down the hallways before the Rathtar was beginning to pull her towards its mouth.
Cassie let out a scream of terror and desperately tried to reach for her blaster that was still strapped to her side, but the Rathtar had her arms pinned down and she was unable to move. Tears were beginning to fill her eyes and in a moment of pure panic she yelled at the top of her lungs, "Castor!"
Just outside the ship hanger were Han, Castor, BB-8, and Chewie, but somehow the girl's screams were able to echo far enough that they reached their ears. Castor froze almost instantly, his whole body tensing up as he looked behind him with wide eyes.
"Cassie," Castor breathed and Han didn't have time to stop him before the boy was taking off back the way they had come. BB-8 began to roll after the boy, but Chewie was quick to stop the droid who let out a whirl of protest but stayed put.
Back in the clammy tentacles of the Rathtar, Cassie had started to tear up. She couldn't believe this was how she was going to die and she felt sick once she realized she was never going to finish the mission Poe had died for.
She had let him down.
However, just when Cassie was about to accept her death and the Rathtar's teeth had grazed against her cheek enough to draw blood, a door that they were passing through slammed shut and Cassie was released from the creature's hold.
She fell to the floor harder than she had when the Rathtar slammed her down and Cassie let out a scream of terror as she quickly tried to push off the tentacles that were still violently shaking around her despite having been cut off from the creature.
Cassie managed to pull herself up onto her feet and she had to lean against the wall for a second as she tried to collect herself. "Cassie!" a voice yelled and the girl was quick to wipe away her tears and put up that wall of hers to make it seem like she was okay as she glanced up at Rey and Finn who were running towards her with concerned looks on their faces.
"What did you do?" Cassie asked, her eyes flickering between the two as she wondered how they had helped her. It was obvious that they had by the way they found her so quickly and she couldn't help but wonder just how they did it. "It. . .it had me, but the door—"
"We have no idea what you are talking about," Finn told her, although she knew he was lying to her.
Rey nodded her head in agreement and her gaze fell on the cut on Cassie's face for but a moment, the corners of her lips falling down into a small frown as she said, "That was lucky."
"Cassie!" Castor's voice echoed down the hallways, the panic obvious as the sound of his footsteps grew closer and closer.
"Castor!" Cassie yelled before she ran past her friends and in the direction of her brother's voice. Rey and Finn weren't far behind and it didn't take them long before they turned a corner to see Castor running toward them.
Castor's eyes lit up at the sight of his sister and the two Shae siblings ran at each other before instantly running into an embrace. Cassie was breathing heavily as she hugged her brother and Castor let out a shaky breath as he held the girl close. She was shorter than him now that he had grown up more, so Castor let his chin rest on top of her head as he whispered worriedly, "I. . .I heard your scream. What happened? Are you okay?"
