Shara comes in and sees the girls debating and arguing back and forth. She had no idea what's going on so she tiptoes over to Taylor. Taylor just looks at her and back at the ladies simultaneously.
"Hey what's going on?" Shara concerned with the girls.
"Not of your concern at the moment. What happened with you and the guys?" Taylor says looking at Shara, concerned.
Shara smirks and peers at her. "None of your concern."
Taylor rolls her eyes and looks back at the girls.
"Don't be stupid now."
"So you're my mother?"
"No I care about Esther."
"I didn't even do nothing."
"Yeah sure Shara." Taylor emphasizing 'sure'.
Shara gives her a bland look and goes to the kitchen. The dudes are still peeking in the room listening as Shara passes them to get hand sanitizer, forgetting they were still listening as she sucks her teeth at Taylor's nosiness. After she's done, she goes back into the living room and sits near Taylor, who was sitting next to Esther's chair.
"Okay but again WHY are you not understanding?"
"Only cause you don't want to listen Ruth?!"
"But you are making assumptions Eve!"
"So what you trying to say? Just let me know plainly."
"I think we all need to chill for real. Ruth, Eve come on now." Rahab stretches her arms out at Eve and Ruth. "This can't continually be an issue."
"But I'm not the only one who understands my point." Ruth states looking at Rahab.
"What you mean Ruth?" Eve grims at her.
"Some of the girls get where I'm coming from." Ruth points around.
"I mean yeah."
"Eh."
"Well-"
The girls say simultaneously except Rahab, Eve, Ruth, and Rebecca.
"So wassup then y'all?"
Leah looks over at Eve and mumbles something. Ruth caught it and mouths her to say how she feel.
"Eve." Leah calls. Eve looks at her annoyed. "What I think Ruth is trying to get at is, Eve, you started this. You caused a lot of struggles and heartbreak for all women by making a bad choice at Eden. You couldn't help but listen to the voice of a stranger instead of doing what was instructed for you not to do. The stranger wasn't even a man, it was a serpent." Leah slowly but clearly points out.
"What the-", Rebecca mumbles to herself. Wait.
"But you can't just blame me. I wasn't the only person there because last time I checked Adam didn't do anything but watch. He is the one that instructed me not to eat the fruit. God instructed him first, but he ate the same fruit with me." Eve conveys.

"But, didn't you eat it first, sis? Although Adam got the instruction first, it doesn't negate that you ate the fruit first." Ruth snarls.
"Exactly." Some of the girls mumble to them selves.
"Y'all? I'm confused on what's going on here." Girlfriend looking around the room, in perplexity.
"Okay, but Adam was there the whole time and let it go down the way it did. Sure, let the women take the fault so you can blame her later and that's what Adam did. He blamed Eve like it was nothing. So, y'all can't just pinpoint the whole situation on Eve because Adam is to blame as well." Rahab defending Eve. Rebecca is looking at the girls with a exaggerated confused look to the fact that they just ignored her question.
Rebecca looking confused.
"Ummm..HELLOOOO...So, is anybody going to explain to me what is going on?"
"Rahab, its fine. At least a choice was made. Pfft, I wouldn't wait for some man to call the shots for me. Think of it this way. In making a choice that a man was too scared to make and I had to deal with it being all my fault. Then so be it then, the blame is mine." Eve huffs and slouches back in the bean bag, interrupting Rebecca.
"YALLLL" Rebecca yells.
All the girls look at her with puzzled faces as if she is speaking for the first time.
"But I am not understanding. Since this is the conversation that we got yourselves wrapped into, what's up with Eve, sis?" Rebecca panting, waving her hands everywhere.
Eve complains, while walking to the center as Ruth walks the other way annoyed.
She sighs.
"It's always my fault
It's always my fault
It's always me
I'm always blamed
I'm always framed
I've learned to take it
And accept all the punches
I wake up with these knives in my back
I go to bed with these bruises
"If you hadn't" (Leah)
"You should've"
"Maybe if you" (Ruth)
"Why didn't you"
"Shut up" (Hannah)
"I don't want to hear it"
"Just shut up!" (Esther)
"That's not your job!"
"You're going through a phase" (Esther and Ruth)
"What's wrong with you?"
"I don't get you, no one does" (Leah and Hannah)
"JUST STOP!"
"I CAN NEVER GET A WORD IN!"
I'M SORRY
I'm sorry
I'm sorry that all I can say is sorry
Because anything else isn't acceptable"
("It's always my fault" by Elizabeth Sommers)
Eve walks back to her bean bag chair annoyed, turned away from the girls. Eve, holding back her anger, fiddles with her phone.
She is always blamed and that's been her life. She always had to fend for herself. Being the middle child of 3 girls was not easy. Most of the time, when her little sister or older sister did something they were praised even for their mistakes. When it came to Eve, it was a completely different story. She just wonders if her family ever loved her at all. Now she being ganged up by her friends.

An awkward silence lingers the room. Rebecca looks at Eve confused on what is going on. She tries to get her friend attention hoping she would explain, but her friend is silent looking at Eve in annoyance. Ruth peers at Rebecca then look at at Eve. Hannah whispers Ruth loudly. Ruth turns to her as Hannah looks at Rahab. Catching on, Ruth looks at Rahab as Rahab realizes they are looking at her, looks back.
"What???" Rahab whispers loudly.
Ruth and Hannah gestures her to talk and comfort Eve.
"What? Y'all know I am not-"
"Come on this is good practice" Hannah whispers.
"Uh uh y'all-" Rahab shakes her head.
"Go." Ruth waves Rahab.
"Y'all know she can hear y'all right?" Rebecca stating the obvious.
"Rebecca shh." Ruth shushes her.
"Y'all what-" Rahab having her hands out at them. Ruth and Hannah gestured her over.
"Fine. Y'all owe me yo." Rahab mumurs in defeat, gritting her teeth. Ruth and Hannah smiles. Ruth walks back to her seat to sit next to Hannah. Esther pulls closer happy for her friend.
Rahab slowly walks over to Eve hesitating to do it.
As she stands near Eve, she reaches her hand out to hug her but pulls back. Ruth, Hannah, and Esther look at her attentively as they hold on to each other. Leah chuckles watching Rahab. Rebecca looks dumbfounded but just watches.
Rahab looking at the girls rolling her eyes but went back to look at Eve getting focused on the task at hand.
You can do this.
Rahab reaches
and reaches
and
finally
she gives Eve
a quick hug.
"Progress." Hannah whispers happily as Ruth and Esther cheers quietly. Rahab looks at them in annoyance then smiles a little. She lightly rubs Eve shoulders.
"Look... I get why y'all feel it is right to put the blame on Eve. Today, women are struggling more and more than ever before." Rahab sympathizes with Eve.
Rahab continues speaking as the girls look at her.
"When I was younger, I believed anything was possible
When I was younger, I didn't have to worry about men looking at us in different ways
When I was younger, I didn't have to worry about being cat called
When I was younger, I didn't know how messed up this world is
When I was younger, I didn't have to worry about being called all types of names
Now, this is our..."
"Reality" all in unison.
(Being Female by mickeyjt)
Reality sinks in for the girls, while Rebecca is still confused as Rahab sits back on the couch.
"Im sorry but, girls I am not understanding what's going on. What is happening? What's Eden? What did Eve do? How is it her fault?" Rebecca says waving her hands everywhere. I'm slow.
"Okay...Eden was a perfect garden. A garden that God made where there was no sin, no sorrow, no pain. Adam was the first man God created. Eve was the second, as the rib of the man. Eve means the Mother of all living. She was the first woman bathed in her own beauty. However, a snake, who she had never seen before, deceives her into eating from the tree. The tree, which is the Knowledge of Good and Evil, that God instructed both of them not to eat, but they did." Rahab leans on the couch.
"Uhh I forgot..why couldn't they eat from this specific tree?" Rebecca asks.
"Because God said, ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. However, the snake said that ye shall not surely die because God knows that in the day, ye eat thereof, that your eyes would be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil." Eve says sarcastically looking at Rebecca, then turned back from them slouching from the bean bag.
"The problem they are having is Eve ate from the tree first, which caused Adam to eat it as well. Because of that, sin entered into the world and destroyed so many lives, as well as currently destroying the lives of many women." Rahab comfortably explaining.
"And they blaming me because I was named after her and it seems like I am vouching for her, but the thing is I can relate with her mistake. They surely know I have been blamed enough in my life." Eve stammer lowly.
"So basically, y'all think what Eve did was selfish and naïve, which caused sin to be in the world. However, from what I am hearing, it looks as if Eve was moved by her own desires to be like something that would benefit many things. Although, it was wrong and it came with a punishment that we all have to bear, she did what I believe all of us would have done, so sin was going to be here regardless. How many times have we been told by God not to do something, but we still do it because we think it's right?" Rebecca states.
The girls pause and thought on what Rebecca said. Even Shara and Taylor was taken a back. They didn't expect this.
The guys, listening attentively, can't wait to hear what's next.

Enoa Cloud’s late aunt helped hide the Dreamside Road, but following in her aunt’s supernatural tradition offers her as much peril as power. Together, Orson and Enoa battle a magic-obsessed militia, clash with a host of rivals, and face constant adventure on their journey to find the Dreamside Road. *Updates Monday and Friday The Dreamside Road is now on TopWebFiction! Vote so people know this exists. _____________________________________ NOTE: The Progression tag applies specifically to Enoa. Also, fair warning, that element doesn't enter the story until she begins her studies. Content: Main characters range in age from teenagers to people in their thirties and older, but it will not contain gratuitous violence or explicit sexual content. It also won’t shy away from implication, anything to make this story and its world feel more real. Characters will freely allude to potentially triggering topics, including living with a disability, facing terminal illness, coping with trauma, surviving societal destabilization, and the consequences of bigotry. At its most intense, the Dreamside Road is a hard PG-13. Worldbuilding: This is not a story with a lot of early exposition scenes, conveniently explaining ‘magic systems’ and political dynamics. Readers will learn, progressively, as the characters do. This story/world has a ‘magic system’, or rather, a set of systems, but the effort to quantify and understand the truth of the setting plays a role in the backstory, as well as in some character motivations. In that same vein, not every character has a firm grasp on the nature of their world, and not every piece of dialog from every character should be taken as entirely truthful Worldbuilding. Also, this isn't the softest Sci-fi. There are at least some basic explanations given for various elements, but Royal Road does not give me a spectrum to choose from. Given the choice between hard and soft, let's just say The Dreamside Road won't be cited in any college Physics papers. Setting and Theme: The Dreamside Road walks the line between fantasy and science fiction and deals with finding one’s place in a changing world. Many of the characters in this story are United States natives and the story begins in the United States, my homeland. However, knowledge or interest in this country is not necessary to understand the story, especially as it progresses. Also, as this is a novel that deals with societal collapse and while that damage may be widespread, in story, I don’t want to overstep and critique the culture of others’ unless I have particular knowledge in a given area. Ultimately, the Dreamside Road is American in the same way Harry Potter is English, fantasies that do not have a full secondary world, but with enough original elements to fully diverge the setting from our the real world.
