Leah
Hey Jungkook! I was checking on you to make sure you're okay!
Having her phone in her pocket, Leah says this while on the phone, with her AirPods in, as she grabs her luggage and places it on the front porch. She was excited to get a call from Kookie. He always brightens her day.
Jungkook (happily)
Hey Leah dear I'm much better! I can't wait to hang out with the guys. It's been a minute.
Leah smiles, glad to know that he's doing alright. Jungkook is so happy to talk to her. He truly missed her. She has always been the sun ray that shined through the darkness of his life.
Jungkook's family has been using him since he was 10. Jungkook, being the only child, was the 'adult' in the family. He always had to take care of his drunkard parents and uncles.
He finally got his own home months ago. Finally, ready to do what he needs to do and move forward from the toxicity that aches to pulls him down. He knew God was taking him out of that house.
And of course, for a while now, they been trying to get him to stay at his house to take care of them.
It's been an ongoing battle. But, he thanks his brothers and Leah for support. Before he got his own place, his brothers always gave him money even when he didn't want it. Always came by the house, checked on him and helped him deal with the family. Later, Jungkook inherited his grandfather's lumber business, since his father was incapable. He became more rich improving the business.
For Leah, she would constantly check on him, let him stay over her house and allowed him to play with her sons. He loved her sons like they were his own. In return, Jungkook got food and cooked for them, helped sometimes with taking the kids to school, and always came when she called. Sometimes, he would clean the house while Leah was at work and helped Jacob's mother with dinner preparations. Leah cared so much for him and because of her, he didn't give up on life. He didn't have to do any of that stuff for her
but he wanted to.
Jacob wasn't always home, since he would be busy with work. So, the family saw him sometimes.
See, the thing Jungkook knew for sure in all of that is he would do anything for her. He would do it all over again and forever more.
He cherishes his brothers and Leah because they are his family, his heart. They kept all his secrets.
It was self-defense since his uncle tried to rape him then kill him because he refused.
If it wasn't for them, he wasn't sure if he would have found God or forgave his uncle.
Leah (smiles)
I'm so glad you're doing okay!
Baby, I am immediately wonderful once I hear that sweet, melodic voice.
Jungkook (chuckles a bit)
What about you? How are you?
Leah (excited)
I'm alright actually going to hang with my girls!
Jungkook (chuckles and smiles)
I know you miss them.
Leah
I do very much and you!
Leah pauses realizing how that could have came across. She mentally slaps herself as she opens up the trunk of the car, putting the luggage and bag in the trunk as well as Jacob's suitcase.
Jungkook pauses and blushes looking at his phone. Then, put his phone on the car mount, putting the call on speaker, turning on the car, and heads to pick up Yoongi before heading to Jin's house.

I miss you more beautiful.
Jungkook (flirty)
So you miss me?
Leah (tries hard not to blush)
I do miss you. You are my dearest friend.
Leah pushed the "friend" card out of her mouth.
No, I Jacob!
Jungkook giggles knowing she said it awkwardly. Jungkook sighs knowing that what he wants to say is wrong in so many ways. But he took his chances...
Jungkook (smirking)
I hope to see my friend soon. My friend is so freaking beautiful that every time I look at my friend, I pray to God to give me the strength to be a 'friend'.
Leah couldn't take it.
She blushed hard.
She stopped it quick when she saw Jacob coming out of the house heading to the trunk with his luggage. They live in a nice size house for three sons, 2 dogs, and a mother-in-law. What a bunch.
"Babe, your almost ready?" Leah rushes out, quickly gathering her thoughts.
Jacob looks at her, then pushes the luggage in the trunk and closes it.
"Yup, let's say bye to the kids and my mother so we can head on out."
"Okay coming! Let me get off the phone!" Leah smiling weird at Jacob, as he walks towards the house. She let's out a breath, feeling relieved.
Jungkook waits in annoyance. He doesn't care too much for the dude. He speaks when he hears her take a deep breath.
Jungkook (monotone)
That's Jacob?
Jungkook trying to be respectful.
Leah (takes another breath)
Yeah we got to go. So I'll talk to you later!
Jungkook wanted to talk to her more, but knew that wouldn't be possible.
Jungkook
Yeah call me later when you're alone!
Leah (smiles)
Okay bye Kookie Pookie!
Jungkook blushes, missing that old nickname she used to call him.
God give me strength, man.
Jungkook (smiles)
Bye LeLe!
Jungkook hangs up.
Leah couldn't stop smiling.
Get it together sis.
Leah takes a deep breath and rushes into the house. She grabs her bag and put it over her shoulder. The dogs barking and kids laughing fills the house.
"Who was that on the phone babe?" Jacob looks at Leah, concerned. He figures by the way she was acting that it was someone she's close to.
"Oh it was just Jungkook." Leah states, standing in front of Jacob. She smiles up at him.
Jacob tries to hold back his irritation. He doesn't care too much for Jungkook; but he respect what he had done for his wife.
"Okay, as long as I don't gotta worry about the dude." Jacob awaits her answer as he grabs her and bringing her closer.
Leah assured she will never cheat on Jacob. His beard and his lips is enough to make a woman plead on their knees. He has beautiful hair, it's just the amount of fluff. His tall and caramel-skinned, muscular figure makes Leah feel small, but she loves that about him. Leah is dark as a Hershey bar and as her husband likes to say, thick as a Snicker. Sometimes, she doesn't feel beautiful though. Jungkook always reassured her that she was and when he does, she feels worth while.
Ugh, why was it so hard this time to resist Jungkook?
I mean...he looks like the word handsome. His bunny smile alone makes me melt. I just want to pour all-
Yo. What's wrong with me? Get it together girl. Jacob is enough for me.
She smiles at the thought of her husband.
But
she didn't understand the feeling rushing through her body. It felt like her heart is pounding faster than how fast light travels, but decided to ignore the feeling...quick.

"You don't have to worry." Leah assures.
Jacob smiles and kisses her forehead. "How's Rachel?" he asked "I didn't get to see her leave."
"She is doing good.."
Leah looks at Jacob a little irritated as she sees him fix his face and turn away from her.
What? Is he trying not to blush?
Before Leah responded, Jacob's mother called her. Deciding not to argue, Leah goes into the kitchen where the noise is coming from and helps Jacob's mother put the banana pudding in the refrigerator she made for the boys.
"Thank you again mom." Leah says as she hugs Jacob's mom.
"Of course you have fun!" Jacob's mom smiles, hugging her back.
Leah let go and nodded. She starts walking towards Jacob, waving him to come on. Jacob just finished tackling their son, Judah, in the dining room, which is in front of the kitchen. Judah and Jacob laughed as Jacob hugged him saying bye and he loved him. Leah smiles at them. My big man Judah.
The other two sons, Simeon and Levi, came out of the living room and said bye to Leah and Jacob.
"Be good all of you. I will know if you weren't."
Leah assures them as the boys hug her. Also, she murmurs to them that will see them Monday afternoon. She loves her boys so much and she is going to miss them. She's never been away from them this long.
Jacob agrees. The boys look at him in sadness.
"We never see you Dad. Are you coming back this time?" Judah looks at Jacob in sadness. The boys looks at him with hopeful eyes, while Leah crosses her arms, irked looking at Jacob too.
"Yes my sons. I work hard for y'all and your mother. I love you all very much. Never doubt that." Jacob looks at the boys, with hurt in his eyes. He loves his sons more than they know.
All the boys smile and hug him tightly. They look at mom and sees that she is smiling.
"Mom. Will we see Kookie soon?" Reuben smiles at Leah. Leah smiles, knowing that her sons love Jungkook. He is their bestfriend. Jacob looks at Leah then the boys with a little annoyance in his face.
"You will see him when he is allowed to come over here. I'll be here more often after this weekend so when I come back, we will play basketball. Okay?" Jacob answers before Leah does. The boys excitedly say yes and rush to tell their cousins.
"Tell them to come say bye to their aunt and uncle." Grandma yells to the boys, as she walks closer to the stairs. Judah yells okay back but it's faint.
Jacob watches them run upstairs then looks at Leah, who glances back at him with an unreadable expression. Leah turns away from him and heads towards the front door.
The nephews and the boys run back downstairs. They give their final hugs and wave goodbye to Leah and Jacob. Jacob hugs and kisses his mother's forehead, then walks out the door with Leah.
Leah and Jacob get in the car as Leah drives to Jacob's brother's house. Thankfully, Esther's house is that direction to her destination. It was going to take her almost two hours to get to Esther's. She peers over at Jacob, who was texting on the phone.
"I told bro I'm on my way." Jacob puts his phone back in his pocket.
"Do you miss Rachel?" Leah ignoring his statement.
"Will you be there for our sons?"
Jacob rolls his eyes knowing where his wife is going with this. "No, I love you and yes, I love our sons! Remember that." Jacob grabs Leah's thigh as he looks at her and smiles. Leah fake smiles at him, pats his hand, and puts her hand back on the wheel.
Leah turns away from Jacob as a tear suddenly falls down on her face. She wasn't convinced for some reason.
And...she didn't know why.

Eve waves goodbye to her family as she starts driving. She knew it was going to be a long drive so she didn't want to leave too late.
Eve gets a call from Hannah. Eve answers it and hears a loud yell from the phone.
Hannah
TEDDY ENOUGH! PUT THAT BACK ON THE FLOOR OR NO MORE TEDDY GRAHAMS!
Eve chuckles at her friend. Toren aka Teddy was always being bad.
Eve
Did you pray sis?
Hannah (huffing)
Sometimes you want to ask God to give you an instant vacation. He doesn't work that way but man being a mom can be a lot.
Eve (lightening the mood)
You know I know what you mean. God gives us a day of rest though.
Hannah laughs at her friend. Hannah sees a text from Hobi and smiles. Hobi is her dearest friend from high school. They met at their high school dance club and been friends ever since. Hannah decides not to look at it at the moment. She looks at her son in the rear view mirror, shaking her head at him as he sucks in his thumb.
Hannah
I'm dropping lil man off at his aunt's house. Samuel is sleeping over his friend's house. Are you on your way to Esther's?
Samuel is the oldest kid out of all of the girls' kids. He's about to be 13.
Eve
Yeah I am now.
Eve gets a notification on IG and widens her eyes.
Eve
Hannah I'll see you soon! Be safe love you!
Hannah
Love you too!
Eve hangs up.
Eve stops at a red light and quickly goes into her phone on IG to see a pic of Jimin. Eve looks at the pic excited. Jimin is wearing a brown trench coat with a white cashmere sweater and black jeans. He has Uggs on as well, which he doesn't wear all the time, but only on occasion. Eve smiles longer than she needed and was startled by a car horn behind her. She didn't know the light changed. She continues to drive trying not to think too hard about the picture.
As she is thinking and hesitating to like this pic, she peers at the phone to see Jimin calling.
Nope nope nope don't answer Eve.
Jimin hangs up and Eve lets out the breath she didn't realize she was holding. Her phone starts to vibrate. Eve peers over to see a message from Adam.
❤️
Eve smiles at the text as she looks out on the road. Then, she realize that she needs to call Jimin back. The pic of Jimin swiftly coming back into her mind, she finds herself thinking to hard again. From that, she realize it's not a good time to call him.
Call him back later Eve.

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
