The man struggled as he was dragged to the gallows. The executioner was waiting for him, holding the noose.

"I'm innocent! I'm innocent!" he cried as the executioner put the noose around his neck. He tightened the rope, and the prisoner desperately tried to loosen it. The executioner pulled a lever, and the man fell 10ft. The crowd heard his neck snap and he hung there, dead. The crowd cheered, and soon after, they left.

"Are your games in place?" the spirit said to the executioner.

"They are," he replied.

"I will play my part when I am needed, and you will hang the unlucky one, after beheading the first," the spirit said. He vanished, and the executioner cut down the body and began setting up the noose for the unlucky guest.
