Three weeks has passed since Azul's overblot incident. Crowley had looked into it, but he did nothing but scold Azul for his negligence and then said he couldn't make contract deal anymore with students.

Y/n was pretty mad at him, since he didn't do that sooner or last year, so she struck a deal with Floyd to finally sticky note the man's office. Y/n also invited Ruggie with the deal that she makes him food to take home when vacation came around. He suggested the idea that they drew eyes on the sticky notes too to really freak Crowley out.

Which it did when the man entered his office and almost had a heart attack.

Those were the happiest three weeks y/n has ever had as she slept one night after a very pleasant day. Though, we all know all good things come to an end, especially when the mirror in her room started to glow again and y/n was whining in her sleep as she twists and turn.

She opens her eyes and finds herself standing in the middle of a desert,"A vast desert? Seriously? First sea now sand?" y/n sighs as she throws her hands up in the air.

The sound of horses catches her attention as she whips around and spots two men not too far from her. On was short and pudgy while the other man was tall and lean, but he was hidden in the shadows of the night.

"You are late." the tall man hisses, his tone indicating he's displeased with his associate's tardiness,"I had to slit a few throats, but I got it." the pudgy man present something to the tall man, who immediately snatches it from him. Y/n briefly saw that it looks like a half puzzle piece.

"Trust me my pungent friend." he says as he pulls out the other half and connects them to reveal a beetle. Next thing y/n knew, they're chasing after the enchanted insect,"Quickly, follow the trail!" the tall man shouts as they give chase after it.

Y/n blinks once before jumping in shock when she finds herself in a new area with a little tiger head made out of sand emerging from the ground right in front of her,"Holy shiitake mushroom!" she yelps as she takes a few steps back.

"At last, after all my years of searching. The Cave of Wonders!" the tall man marvels at the sight of the sandy cave. Y/n could finally make out his face and clothes. His clothes were that of Arabian culture, the colors black and red and his face was quite long. Those were the only colors to be seen in this black in white world.

"The Cave of Wonders!" a parrot repeats the man's words before the man grabs his pungent friend's shirt,"Remember, bring me the lamp. The lamp is mine!" he declares just as y/n turns her attention to the cave.

"Who disturbs my slumber?" the cave questions, its voice deep and demanding, sending shivers down y/n's spine,"The lamp... The one that holds the genie..." y/n utters as she gazes down its mouth,"It's down there..." she whispers before her vision dark.

She groans when light hits her eyes and she forces herself to open them and stare up at the ceiling. She sighs with furrowed brows,"Another night, another weird dream... But, it wasn't like anything I've seen before..." she utters to herself. She looks at the clock and decides to get ready for the day.

She shivers when her feet hit the wooden floorboards,"It's getting colder these days. Winter is probably around the corner." she tells herself and decides to finally get ready for the day.

"Oh my, what's with your groggy face?" Chub was the first to greet the girl once she came down the stairs,"You look like you sneaked a peek of the other side. Heeheehee." Jolly teases and y/n playfully rolls her eyes at them with a smile,"Morning to you too, you guys." she greets and the two chuckle.

"Your fall term comes to an end today, you can't lose motivation on the last day. Buck up." Skinny encourages the girl,"And then tomorrow winter holiday starts. What do you guys plan to do?" Chub asks and y/n hums at this.

"Hmm? The hell is 'winter holiday'?" Grim asks with confusion,"It's what they. All that big break you get in winter. Usually kids go home to celebrate the new year with their family and have a big feast." Chub explains and y/n becomes sad at the thought of 'family'.

"Ffgna!? A feast!?" Grim drools at the thought of eating lots of food,"Oh yeah. With roasted turkey and cake and a gingerbread house... Well, none of us can eat that." Skinny grins sheepishly,"Well, what do you ghosts do during the winter holiday then?" y/n asks.

"Us ghosts usually make our way back to the other side to see our families too." Chub tells her,"And some of them never return to this side! Heeheehee!" Jolly jokingly says.

"Man, now you guys went and made me hungry." y/n chuckles,"Eat and be merry with family..." Grim hums in thought,"Do you have any family, Buddy?" y/n asks him with curiosity.

"My family...?" Grim looks up at her before scrunching his face up, indicating he's thinking seriously about the subject,"Hmmm, I don't really remember. When I came to, I was bt myself and starving. It was freezing and I was waiting around for someone..."

He thinks harder before shrugging,"...What happened after that? I can't remember..." he admits before smiling,"Well, the past is the past, y'know! Can't change it so I'm all about the future! I'm on my way to becoming a great and wealthy wizard! Bahahaha!" he laughs wholeheartedly, making y/n smile warmly as well.

"That's the attitude Buddy!" she cheers him on,"You've had your own share of tough times." Chub comments,"You two can spend the holiday curled around the fireplace with us." Skinny offers,"That sounds wonderful, thanks guys." y/n chirps cheerfully before looking at the clock wall.

"Nyaha! A holiday and I get a feast, sign me up!" Grim cheers as he jumps up and down in delight,"Oh, gotta go! See ya guys!" she greets before she and Grim ran off for class.

The day went by quite smoothly and the next day, everyone was gathered for one last announcement. Y/n took note how everyone had luggage on them, even Ace and Deuce!

She luckily had grabbed Ruggie's promised food as well as a small note,"Listen up, puppies." Crewel hits his pointer stick against the desk in order to catch everyone's attention.

"I'm sure you're all looking forward to spending your vacation at home... But every year there are those who spend the entire time playing around and forget their homework!" he gives everyone a stern glare.

"There will be plenty of discipline awaiting those puppies who can't be bothered to do their assignments." he warns them all,"Special permission to use Mirror Chamber has been granted for you to travel home. Get your things and report to the proper mirror!" he says, dismissing everyone.

"Alright!" everyone cheers before rushing out of the classroom, some staying behind to talk to their friends for a bit longer,"Phew, we're finally released from the shackles of our student life!" Ace says dramatically as he and Deuce approach y/n and Grim.

"As expected of Night Raven College, they don't hold back on the homework." Deuce sighs as he scratches his cheek with a finger,"Oh yeah, y/n, you still haven't found a way to get back to your world, right?" Ace asks and y/n sighs at this.

During their crazy adventure at NRC, she did reveal to them at one point that she isn't from their world and that she, but actually Crowley, are searching a way for her to get home.

"Ya guessed right." she sighs with an awkward smile,"I guess that means you two will both be at school for the holiday." Deuce says with sympathy,"Yup. We're gonna put together a feast with the ghosts, y'know!" Grim smiles with eagerness.

"Gotcha. With all the ghosts here I guess you guys won't be lonely at all." Ace smiles with mold relief. He honestly wanted to invite the girl over for the holiday, but if she has someone with her then he knows she and Grim won't be lonely.

"Wait? If school is closed for the holiday, doesn't that mean the cafeteria and student store will also be closed?" Deuce questions,"Crap!" y/n yelps at this,"Ffgna! You're totally right. How are we supposed to have a feast?" Grim asks with worry.

"I want to believe that this didn't slip the headmaster's mind, but..." y/n sweatdrops with doubt,"You should probably check with the headmaster as soon as possible." Deuce advises her,"Let's head over to the Mirror Chamber since the Headmaster has to be there to give his approval." Ace says as he points a thumb over his shoulder.

With a nod, y/n gathers her stuff before they headed off to the Mirror Chamber, which was cramped by the way as students took different mirrors to get home.

"There's already a bunch of people headed home." Deuce notes with crossed arms,"Haha, they all look so antsy." Ace laughs as y/n huffs a smile,"Everyone is packed like a can of sardines." she comments before sweatdropping at herself.

[I've been spending too much time with Floyd...] she thought,"And the Headmaster is..." Ace hums as everyone searches for the Birdbeak himself, only for their eyes to almost bulge out of their head at the sight of him and his attire.

"Everyone, please make sure to keep a hold of your belongings as you enter the Mirror Chamber." Crowley says from in front of the Dark Mirror,"If you let go for even a moment, your things will end up in a completely different location. I recommend shipping anything you can't live without through the student store."

Also, did we mention that he's dressed up as if he's going on vacation for Hawaii? No? Well now you know.

"HE'S IN FULL VACAY MODE!!" the group shout in disbelief and annoyance,"A Hawaiian shirt in the middle of winter! This guy's ready to become a snowbird down south." Ace exclaims,"He's not even trying to hide where he'd rather be." Deuce sweatdrop while y/n feels her brow twitch,"The nerve of that man..." she growls lowly.

"Hey you, Headmaster! We've got a bone to pick!" Grim shouts as he storms up to the man, the others following right behind him,"Oh, what are you all doing here?" Crowley asks in a carefree manner.

"Sir, are you really looking for a way to get me home?" y/n immediately asks with crossed arms and stern eyes,"Ah! Aaaahhh!!" Crowley blinks at her before sweating nervously,"A way back to your world. Hahaha. Don't be like that, of course I'm looking." Crowley reassures. Very unconvincing, by the way.

"Really? Then what's your plan sir?" y/n asks in a very sassy manner, shocking the two boys behind her,"My plan is to expand my research by going down south to see if I can find any leads. For I am very serious." Crowley tells her with a beaming smile.

Y/n scoffs at this,"That's not what people wear for 'research'..." Ace sighs with a shake of his head,"Yeah, yeah! You're just gonna take it easy, y'know!" Grim immediately accuses, much to y/n's satisfaction.

"What are you talking about? This is how they dress in the south. You have to try to fit in when you visit foreign lands." Crowley defends himself with stern eyes before his thoughts trail off,"Escaping this cold and spending time gazing upon the ocean while drinking coconut juice from a hammock..." he fantasizes with longing eyes.

Y/n was not impressed.

"I am most definitely not thinking about enjoying myself to the fullest."

Oh yeah, she's definitely not impressed.

"Y-you sure went into detail...!" Deuce says with a flabbergasted expression,"That's no fair! We wanna go to the south too!" Grim whines at the unfairness,"Whaaat? That would completely ruin my fun..." Crowley utters to himself.

"What was that, sir?" y/n asks with an irked smile that made Crowley jump before clearing his throat,"There will be a great deal of danger involved in my investigation so I must go alone." he claims firmly and y/n sighs with irritation.

"And I have a very important job for you to take care of here at school." Crowley suddenly announces causing y/n to almost gain a whiplash from how fast she turned her head to him.

Crowley leans in close to her with very serious eyes,"It is a crucial task that affects the very existence of Night Raven College." he claims and y/n gulps down heavily,"The existence of the school? Why am I getting a bad feeling already?" she groans, already feeling exhaustion kicking in.

Finally Crowley gives her room to breathe,"If you were to accept thos job, then on top of your usual food expenses over vacation... I promise to provide for you a great feast." he reveals,"With roasted turkey, cake, a gingerbread house..." he lists and y/n mentally drools at the thought of tasty food,"How about I throw in thick and juicy spare ribs and a mountain of french fries, does that tickle your fancy?" he coaxes more.

"Ffgna!? Thick and juicy spare ribs? A mountain of french fries?" Grim's eyes widen at the list of food as he gulps down his saliva,"I suppose there's no harm in hearing you out." he says coolly and y/n sighs before nodding in agreement as well.

Hey, a girl's gotta eat, ya feel me?

"It doesn't take much to pay you off..." Ace states with disappointment in which y/n looks the other way with puffed up cheeks. Crowley clears his throat to catch their attention.

"All of the fires around campus, from the cafeterias to fireplaces, are maintained by fire fae." he reveals and y/n's eyes widen a bit in awe at this,"Wait! Faeries!? Real faeries!? On campus!?" she questions with wonder and excitement.

Crowley nods,"They have been living in the hearths in the main cafeteria for many years now..." he tells her,"But, if they are not given perfectly dried logs everyday, they will disappear. Without those fire fae this school would be wrapped in a cold that would freeze it solid." he reveals.

"I had noticed that even without the heater it's always nice and warm around here." Deuce notes,"So it was magic." Ace hums,"There is a ghost that's supposed to be in charge during long holidays, but... His daughter had a child this it seems and has returned to the other side to meet his grandchild. So I'd like to ask you to take care of it in his stead." Crowley informs y/n, who had to do a double take at this type of information.

"I didn't think ghosts can have kids again... Do they feel pain...?" y/n whispers the last part with wide eyes,"Let's just call it a miracle of love and leave it at thay..." Crowley tells her with a pat to the shoulder and y/n agrees to that theory.

"Back to the point, this is crucial if you'd like to stay warm over the holiday." Crowley tells her,"All you have to do is move around some firewood daily and you can spend your holiday warm and with a full belly... It's two birds with one stone. Isn't this a wonderful arrangement?" he coaxes her.

"I suppose so." y/n shrugs with a relieved smile,"This is a piece of cake if you compare it to all the weird stuff you've made us clean up before!" Grim chirps with a satisfied smile.

"Isn't it? This is what makes me ever so gracious." Crowley says humbly before perking up,'I almost forgot. Since I'll be gone for the duration of the break I want to give you this." he says as he digs through his pocket and pulls out a phone before handing it over to y/n.

"Are you for real!? Thanks!" y/n grins widely as gher friends peer over her shoulder,"Ah, it's a smart phone." Ace states the obvious,"Call me immediately with this if there's ever an emergency while I'm gone. This is for emergency use only. Refrain from using it to eat up data by scrolling through Magicame." Crowley advises with a stern expression.

"Gotcha." y/n nods in understanding and Crowley nods, satisfied with her response,"I have to get back to my very important duty of sending the students home, so I'll leave the rest to the two of you." he says as he turns around to leave.

"That's right, before I leave, I need to take a look at the sightseeing brochure. I'm just so busy..." was the last thing y/n heard as he left,"Nyaha! Now we're guaranteed a big ol' feast over the holiday!" Grim cheers in victory.

"Looked to me like he really knows how to work you over..." Ace smiles awkwardly and y/n gives one in return,"You have no idea, but it's for food. So yeah..." she sighs,"Well, as long as you guys are okay with it then it's fine." Ace pats her back.

Running footsteps then catches their attention,"Hey, hey! No standing in the middle of the road, move, move!" Ruggie grins widely as he rushes towards them for the mirror behind them. Strapped to his body is various bags and he's even dragging a cooler behind him.

"Oh, Ruggie." y/n perks up at the sight of him,"Bucchi... Why do you have so much stuff?!" Deuce asks with shock as his eyes scan the boy's form that's carrying various baggage,"You've got a backpack and three duffle bags plus a giant cooler." he points them all out.

"You mean all this? Shishishi. I got all the food that was about to expire from the cafeteria and school store. Right before long breaks like this I can get it all for free." Ruggie explains with a pleased grin,"What? There's no way you can go through all that." Ace says with doubtful eyes.

"What're you talking about? Once I get home and pass this out to all the neighborhood street rats, it'll be gone in no time. I've gotta make sure my grandma can eat her fill over the holidays." Ruggie reveals and y/n gives him a sad smile,[It's a good thing I made a lot of food then.] she thought.

"Then you wouldn't mind some extra baggage then?" she says as she gestures to the two bags in her hands,"Oh, is that the promised food you made for me?" Ruggie asks with eagerness, his little tail even wagging a little,"Yep! This bag contains sandwiches like egg, meaty, breakfast and cheesy sandwiches. This one has some sweets in them like doughnuts, little cake rolls and pancake sandwiches." y/n tells him with a cheerful smile.

Ruggie puts his luggage down in favor of picking the girl up and giving her a spin,"You're a saint y/n! Thanks!" he grins as y/n giggles,"It's no problem Ruggie." she says as Ruggie puts her down and accepts the two bags from her.

He then quickly stores them away in the cooler and picks his luggage up,"Oops, the frozen stuff's gonna melt. See ya'll next year!" he greets, swiftly giving y/n a peck to the temple before jumping through the mirror.

Y/n turns a brilliant pink while her friends all held jealous eyes,"I want some food made by y/n..." Ace mumbles to himself,"There he goes... I wonder what he meant by 'neighborhood street rats'..." Deuce utters with curiosity.

"There are many families stuck in poverty in Ruggie's hometown." Jack's voice catches their attention,"So during these long holidays, he brings back as much food as he can so the neighborhood kids can eat." he explains to them.

"Jack... Why are your hands full of potted plants? Are you gonna become a gardener?" Ace asks with curiosity as y/n eyes the different plants in Jack's arms, which are mostly cacti,"These are the cacti I grow for fun. They'd wilt if nobody watered them over break." Jack tells them.

"What a cute hobby..." y/n utters with pink round cheeks, making Jack blush in return,"... Nevermind me!" he says bashfully,"I never expected Ruggie to be the type to share his food with others. He's a pretty good guy." Grim praises with a bit of admiration.

"Hyenas are the sort to share prey with the weak and sick without discrimination. I'm sure Ruggie was raised like that too." Jack explains and y/n smiles warmly at this,"That's a really nice feat to have in a person." she compliments before footsteps and a hand on her head catches her attention.
