More days have passed since the Magift Tournament event. Y/n and everyone else have entered the exam season and so far, she's been doing well with her studies and the tests.

Currently, it was night time and she's having for the first time in a while, another restless sleep as her room is bathed in white light from the mirror.

Her eyes snaps open to the sounds of crashing waves along with thunder and lighting. She's doesn't know how or why nor does she question it, but she's floating above the raging sea beneath her. In a far distance, a ship was on fire with heavy black smoke emitting from it as it slowly starts to break apart and sink into the dark waters below.

"This storm is nuts! And what the hell happened to that ship!?" her voices echoes before hearing shouting in the distance,"A storm's comin'! Hold on tight!" someone shouts and y/n jumps when a woman and an unconscious man suddenly pops out of the water.

"Is he okay?" y/n furrows her brows before her vision goes white and she found herself standing on the shore near the woman, who turns out to be a mermaid, and the unconscious man.

"Look, he's still breathing!" the mermaid says with relief before diving back into the water when barking and a voice came towards them. It was an old man and a big fluffy dog,"Prince Eric!" the man shout with great relief as he helps the young prince up.

"A girl helped me. She had a beautiful voice." Eric says as he and the elder along with their dog walked away, his steps a bit uneasy,"I wonder why my heart is racing?" y/n turns her head to where the mermaid hid behind a rock.

"I know my dream will come true and someday I'll be part of your world!" she declares with a smile as she lifts her upper body up with her arms, the wind tousling her hair around as the wave splashes behind her.

"Fufufu." y/n suddenly hears snickering as she spots two eels hiding nearby, their eyes trained on the girl. She can tell those two spell trouble. She then turns back to the mermaid and calls out,"Ariel...?"

Her eyes suddenly snaps open and she's met with the ceiling above her. She lies still and quiet for a few seconds before breathing out,"Did I just... dream about the ocean?" her brows furrows as she sat up in bed.

Over the past few weeks, she could finally clean up and tidy her bedroom along with the rest of the dorm. Of course, the ghosts helped her out a lot as thanks for letting them Magift with them.

Y/n sighs as she mats her hair down a bit,"Also, who's Ariel? It sounds familiar, but why can't I remember where I've heard it from?" she feels that same static feeling in the back of her mind as she fails to remember where she has heard that foreign, yet familiar, name.

"...If the trend for the questions is... Option 2 means it's a trick..." she hears Grim mumble and looks up to see him seated on the green couch with the small round table placed in front of him filled almost to the brim with books and scattered papers.

She smiles as she gets out of bed and sneaks up behind him before reaching out and scratching behind his ear,"G'morning, Grim! Did you really study all night last night?" she chirps, though Grim jumps in his seat with a yelp.

"Ffna! Don't surprise me like that." Grim says as he swats her hand away,"You're gonna make me forget everything I memorized. Today's the last day of final exams!" he pouts angrily,"The two of us together count as one so don't go dragging me down." he says as he turns back to his books and papers.

"Geez, grumpy much? Fine, fine. I'll go get ready and we'll go take those tests!" y/n says as she walks off to go get ready. Afterwards, they both hurried over to Mr. Trein's classroom where they're writing their final test. Their supervisor was Crewel for this one.

"Time's up, puppies." Crewel announces after checking the clock on the wall whilst the bell rang,"Put your pens down and pass in your answer sheet like good, obedient pups." he cooes as everyone does so. As soon as he received all of the papers, he smirks,"This concludes your final exams." he states and almost everyone throws their hands in the air with glee,"YAAAYYY!!!" they all cheer and y/n had to keep Grim down before he starts dancing on the table.

"Sit! It's too early to celebrate." Crewel immediately scolds as he slaps his pointer against the blackboard,"Any bad boys, or girl, who get low marks on their tests should be prepared to sacrifice their Christmas vacation to take make up lessons." he explains before waving them all off,"Dismissed." on cue, everyone gathers up their stuff before leaving.

The Uno Braincell Duo approaches the Ramshackle Duo with bright smiles,"We're done, we're really done!" Ace cheers with relief as he throws his hands in the air,"I did everything I could. All that's left is to wait for the results." Deuce smiles while y/n gathers up her stuff in her arms and stood up along with Grim jumping onto the desk table.

"Good work guys." y/n praises with a smile, earning pink cheeks from the two boys,"Kufufu! This test was a piece of cake for me." the little monster boasts with a paw on his chest and a Cheshire smile on his face,"Hm? You look pretty confident for a guy who always looks like the world is ending after writing exams." Ace teases with a raised brow.

"Heh heeh. This time will be different." Grim claims with a paw raised in the air and a gleam in his eyes,"Get ready to call me 'The Great Genius Grim' and you'll be saying 'Grim, help me study!' in no time." he exclaims as he points at Ace with confidence.

"Sorry, but I'm pretty confident this time around, too. I feel bad, but I'm going to win." Deuce spoke up with imaginary sparkles around his being,"Is that really something a guy who always gets low marks and cries like a baby should be saying?" Ace teases, earning a tick mark from Deuce,"This time exams were a breeze for me too, so I'm not gonna lose." Ace announces with just as much confidence.

"Sheesh, since when did this become a competition?" y/n giggles as she pats the boys' backs after putting her stuff down,"But, you all studied hard, huh? I'm proud!" she praises as she earns bashful smiles from her friends.

"Well, y'know! This was easy peasy!" Ace claims as he slings an arm around her neck,"Well, since tests are over I better make an appearance in track and field." Deuce says as he straightens out his jacket,"I actually feel like going all out at basketball for the first time in a while. So let's all head out." Ace suggests as he points at the door.

"Sounds good to me." y/n nods before they left the classroom and part way,"Good luck at practice guys!" she waves the Heartslabyul boys off before Grim scurries onto her shoulder,"We should go home. I'm pooped from studying all night." he huffs as he literally slumps over her shoulder with an exhausted expression.

Y/n nods in agreement,"A nap does sound good right about now. Maybe even better after we eat something." she says with a tempting tone,"Patty tuna!" Grim suddenly shouts and y/n rubs her ear,"Grim, don't shout. My ear." she whines as they left for their dorm house.

Meanwhile, in Octavinelle...

The atmosphere was tense as Azul smiles at a fellow Octavinelle resident with Jade and Floyd on either side of him, the twins sporting their own ominous smiles,"Why did you ignore my summons yesterday?" Azul asks as he pushes his glasses up, the dim lighting creating a white flash effect on them. This made Azul even more intimidating.

"It seems that you do not understand the position you're in right now." he adds as he folds his arms,"Y-yesterday my stomach wasn't feeling well..." the student trembles slightly with a weak voice as he avoids eye contact with the trio in front of him.

"Really? Lying won't help you at all." Azul frowns with an unamused expression,"It's true! My stomach really hurt..." the student says anxiously as he even wraps his arms around his stomach,"Jade. Please give him the push he needs to speak a little more honestly." Azul snaps his fingers with a stern expression.

"Understood." Jade smiles as he steps in front of the trembling student practically looming over him,"... Fufu, no need to look so frightened, I'm not going to hurt you." Jade coaxed with a smooth and honey-sweet like voice.

"Loot at me..." he urges gently with a wider smile, razor sharp teeth on display as the student had enough courage to make eye contact with him,"Shock the Heart." Jade immediately utters and the student's eyes turns hazy for the briefest of moments,"Hiiih...W-what did you just do!?" he says with an anxious voice as he trembles even more.

"I'll ask you once again. Why did you refuse to answer Azul's summons yesterday?" Jade asks and the student's turns hazy once more,"About that... I've had it up to here with being used for that cheating bastard, Azul's, underhanded schemes! Of course I just feigned a stomachache!" he rants before snapping back to reality with a shake of his head,"... The hell!? W-why's my mouth just spouting all this... Ah!" he gasps at the sight of the menacing smiles the trio before him gave off.

"Ooh, I see. So that's how you really feel?" Jade cooes as he steps back to stand next to Azul,"Ahh... How could you? I'm so shocked." Azul fakes a sad expression as he shakes his head,"Even though I made your wish come true like the benevolent sea witch would have. But I'm a cheating bastard?" he frowns with narrowed eyes.

"I-I'm sorry! What I just said wasn't true!" the student stammers with utter fear and terror as he took a small step back,"Hmph. It's too late to smooth things over! Floyd, it's your turn." Azul snaps his fingers and Floyd steps forward with a menacing gleeful smile.

"Are you done talking? Can I squeeze him now?" he asks with a sing-song tone as he rolls his left shoulder,"Yes, go ahead. As much as you'd like." Azul smiles cruelly,"Alright." Floyd chirps as he steps towards the trembling student, who was backing away from the menacing twin.

"P-Please wait! Give me one more cha..." the student was about to make a run for it, but Floyd was quick to wrap his arms around him and give him a death-like squeeze,"Gyaaa!!!" he screams before slowly falling unconscious as he lost more and more air in his lungs.

Floyd then drops him to the ground with an uninterested expression,"My goodness." Azul sighs with a shake of his head,"One after another these people all try to skip out on payment. Pay for what you buy, return what you borrow. This is common sense." he tells the unconscious student.

"Yes, it's just as you say." Jade answers him,"I would like for some more decent people to join us this year..." Azul demands and Jade brings a finger to his smiling lips,"Heheheh. The test results are something to look forward to." he chuckles darkly as his brother and dorm leader both smirked darkly as well.

A week has passed since the final test. Currently y/n and Deuce were walking in the second hallway floor, talking with each other about the test results being handed out today,"I'm really nervous!" y/n frets and Deuce smiles gently at her as he boldly grabs her hand, rubbing circles on the back of it,"It's going to be fine. You studied hard for it. No sweat." he reassures her and y/n nods,"Right! You're right Deuce!" she chirps.

Deuce blushes and was about to say something else, when Grim and Ace suddenly ran by them,"Stop right there, Grim! I'm not gonna let this slide today of all days!" Ace screams with anger as Grim dodges between his legs,"Ha ha, sucker. You should write your name on it!" Grim mocks as he pulls one eyelid down and sticks his tongue out at Ace,"Why you!!" Ace grits his teeth as his face almost turns red.

"Another fight? Seriously?" y/n says before placing a hand on her hip,"What happened this time? This is getting seriously exhausting..." she sighs with a sweatdrop,"They'll never give it a rest, will they?" Deuce shakes his head at them as well as he crosses his arms.

"Ah, y/n! If you're really a Prefect, then probably watch over your residents!" Ace hisses as he points at Grim,"What did Grim do, Ace?" y/n asks with a neutral expression,"This jerk went and stole the bread I set aside for a snack again!" Ace tells her with sharp teeth and white eyes.

"That's rude to say I stole it. I just happened to eat it after it fell on your desk." Grim flicks his tail and y/n sweatdrops at his lame excuse,"Really Grim? That's so lame." she murmurs quietly.

"You don't say things 'fell on' someone's desk when they were purposely set there, y'know! Running away like the thief you are. I'll show you with my wind magic..." Ace challenges as he pulls out his magical pen,"Oh, you wanna go? I'll hit right back with my fire magic..." Grim sneers as he lowers his body to the ground.

"Oh, not again..." y/n whines as she pinches the bridge of her nose and ducks her head down in defeat,"Ah...!!" Grim and Ace suddenly say as their form went rigid, which catches y/n and Deuce's attentions.

"...You know what, let's knock it off with the magic. It would be a huge pain to have to clean windows again as punishment." Ace says with a strained smile as he puts his magical pen away, nervous sweat coating his being,"He heh. You say smart things every once in a while. It'd be pretty immature for me to be the only one using magic, so I'll let you off the hook this time." Grim strains a smile as well as he stands on his hind legs.

Y/n stares at them with a dumbfounded expression as she blinks multiple times,"... Eh? What just happened? D-did they just..." her words gets stuck in her throat in her state of shock,"Deuce, pinch me because I must be dreaming." she shakes the blue haired boy's arm, who places a hand over hers to stop her shaking.

"It's rare for you two to stop on your own. Usually it takes the headmaster jumping in after you've burned the classroom black to end your fights." Deuce remarks as he closes y/n's open mouth,"It's a miracle... Are they finally getting along?" she whispers as she tears up with hands clasped together as she smiles up at the roof, sparkles surrounding her being.

The boys sweatdrop at her antic,"No sweat? I'd look like a dumbass throwing hands over bread with a raccoon." Ace replies coolly as he jabs a thumb in Grim's direction,"Come again!? You really don't know when to shut up!" Grim growls at him as y/n cries tears of disappointment,"... Oh... Nevermind then... Boo~" she sobs.

Afterwards, the bell rang and the group made their way to their classroom. Chattering fills the air as y/n plays with Grim's paws a bit,"Time to start class, puppies. Sit like good little pups." Crewel announces with a suave smile before patting a stack of papers,"First up, I'll return your tests." he says.

"Here it comes. Fingers crossed!" y/n whispers as she crosses her fingers and bites her bottom lip,"It's finally time." Deuce cracks his knuckles with eagerness,"Nyaha! Test return! Come on teach!" Grim makes grabby hands with an excited smile.

"Grim, calm yourself! Stay, stay!!" Crewel scolds with a smile as he points his pointer at him,"Sorry teacher, he's just really excited." y/n says with an awkward smile,"Quite alright, little pup. Now then." Crewel clears his throat,"Come get your tests in student number. Number one!" he calls out and a student got up to grab his test.

One after one, everyone eventually got their test results back,"Hooray! 92 points!" Ace cheers as he shows off his test,"88 points! I-I can't believe there would be a day I scored over 80..." Deuce says with awe, his eyes shining with tears as his smiling lips tremble a bit with pride.

"Look, y/n! I scored 85 points!!!" Grim shouts as he shows y/n his test paper with a child-like smile,"That's amazing you guys! You all did so well." y/n praises as she scratches Grim's ear as a minor reward,"This means I won't have to repeat a year...!" Deuce grins with relief as he almost begins to cry,"Oh, Deuce." y/n chuckles briefly as she rubs his back.

"It seems like you all studied a lot for this exam. It's completely different from your quizzes... Actually, it's strange for the average to increase this much." Crewel cups his chin with a thoughtful look,"Eh, it's strange...? What do you mean, Mr. Crewel?" Ace asks as everyone puts their attention on their teacher,"The average test score for potions is over 90 in all grades. I heard from Mr. Trein that the results in history were also fairly good." Crewel tells them and y/n purses her lips at this.

"Eeeh!?" Deuce exclaims with disbelief and shock,"Ffgna!?" Grim's jaw drops at this,"I've got a really bad feeling..." Ace says nervously and y/n gives them a strange look before shrugging her shoulders,"The 50 students with the highest test scores will be posted in the hallway so look forward to it." Crewel announces before grabbing and opening a text book,"Let's begin class. Open your texts." he says and class commences.

After school, everyone rushed into the interior hallway where the top 50 is posted,"Is my name in the top 50!?" Grim shouts as he scrambles over and on people's heads,"I've gotta be in the top 50 if I got an average of above 90, right!?" Ace says with desperation, craning his neck to see over the crowd as he and Deuce push through the crowd.

Meanwhile, y/n stood outside of the whole fuss with a dumbfounded expression,"Wow, and I thought sales at the shopping malls gets crazy..." she utters with a sweatdrop just as most of the students walked away. This allowed her to safely walk over to her friends.

Top 10, top 20..." Grim's face shows dread,"I-I'm not there! 48, 49, 50th... Nope, my name isn't there at all!!" he panics,"M-my name isn't there either..." Deuce's body trembles as his face looks crestfallen,"Hold up a sec. On the top score list they've written everyone's total scores next to their names..." Ace's jaw drop with utter disbelief,"The top 39 people all got a perfect score of 500!" he exclaims.

"A p-perfect score!?" Grim and Deuce yell and y/n looks at the list herself,"Is it even possible for 30 people to get a perfect score? This is nuts." she admits as she steps back,"More than that... If I'm not in the top 50 I'm 'breaking contract'!" Grim yells with a panicked expression.

Silence falls over them at that,"Eh... 'Contract', Grim did you..." Ace points a shaky finger at Grim, his face also showing dread,"Ace, that face, did you..." Deuce is cut off by a flash enveloping the entire hallway.

When y/n open her eyes again, she's met with the boys having purple sea anemone on their heads,"Holy shiitake mushroom!!" she jumps at the sight with wide eyes,"Ffgna!? Wh-what the hell is this!? There's an anemone coming out of my head!" Grim screeches as he touches the sea creature on his head

"G-Grim, you made a contract with him too!? You coward!" Deuce glares despite being in the same predicament,"Deuce you've got one growing out of your head too!" Ace points furiously at the guilty boy,"I'll pull this thing right out..." Grim states and goes to pull on the anemone, only to regret it greatly,"Owowowow, I can't get it off!" he cries out.

"What the hell is happening to you guys!? Why do you have sea anemones growing out of your heads!?" y/n asks with frantic eyes as she threads her fingers between her hair. A gentle but rough hand is soon plopped onto her head.

She looks up to see Jack beside her,"I came over to see what all the fuss is about, but it's just you guys. What're you doing?" he asks with an unamused expression as he crosses his arms.
